why they spoil baby yoda is reunited with Din in the trailer? Thats a big moment they should keep hidden in this season
What's the over under on them including any BoBF of footage in the recap at the beginning of the season? I feel like they have to, but it would be really funny if they just didn't
"Time for another adventure, my green son. Let's go visit Cobb Vanth, our old cyborg friend."
thanks for the reminder the show is coming out
It really crept up on us. Just like a bounty hunter tracking a target.
Real talk; is the Armorer a good guy, or the worst guy?
She went from cool bad ass to “oh I don’t know how to feel about you”
doesnt matter she cool af, so that absolves her of everything
yeah probably in my top 3 favorite mandalorian armor/suits
She’s still a bad ass, she’s just also a cult leader so…
I think thats my favorite thing about Mando, theres a lot of grey areas with characters.
Din is afraid of change.
On one hand she seems to be the one that convinced Din that "The Way" was the only way. On the other hand, she very easily could have taken the Dark Saber from him, or not told him how to atone.
She's a very firm traditionalist.
And she seems like a more levelheaded person than Bo Katan, when you consider the stuff about the Dark Saber.
But maybe she's using Mando
"Remember who put you there when you're the king of Madalore"
Just let the silence speak for itself as we try to forget her.
I like this except for isn’t Cara Dune from Alderaan? Her planets long gone lol
That makes it even better
I love how everyone decided that Cara Dune was Bad, Actually™ after her actress got fired, as though Cara Dune was somehow also antivax.
Cara Dune was just boring
And it did not help that it was just an extremely bad performance by a very bad actor, regardless of the actors IRL views.
She was a nothing character. So much so that you could attribute any characteristic on to her and it would work
And it was also more than just mocking the pandemic that got her fired.
Well and fighting with the star of the show
Yeah, that didn’t help.
Okay that tweet words things confusingly, essentially though he is saying Mando S1 &2 take place over an extended period of time (which I don’t think adds up but okay) and Its two years between S2 and Grogu going back to Mando in Boba (which again doesn’t quite add up)
Jon Favreau clarifies the timeline of #TheMandalorian:
•Seasons 1 and 2 take place over many years
•Grogu was with Luke for two years before being reunited with Din Djarin

Valid question from my dad: doesn’t each planet have its own “years”
probably, but they also probably have some sort of galactic calendar system
well actually star wars isnt really hard sci fi. so they probably all have the same passage of time and like gravity.
dermatologists hate her meme with bo-katan
I mean Star Wars isn’t sci-fi at all end of the day. Its fantasy that takes place in space
I can see season 1 taking place over like a year or so since hes on the run for some time and laying low
also Nevarro changing over time but I thought that was assumed to be super fast because the empire was kicked out
Reverse Breaking Bad, instead of the actors playing a younger versions of themselves, its the actors playing older versions
I finished my rewatch
Now to wait until Thursday to watch the premiere...
Luke returns Grogu with exactly the same amount of explanation as when he takes him, lol
Guy gets a turtleneck and forgets how to be a human being.
Though it's hard to tell if that's because he's still got his Return of the Jedi Brainwashing or because he's a visual effect.
Why Thursday?
We have company coming over for dinner tomorrow...
They can watch Mando
I’m not sure if I’m gonna watch tonight at midnight and then again with my dad tomorrow or just wait until tomorrow yet, very tempting to do midnight viewing
The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa (Episodes 1, 7, 8); Rachel Morrison (Episode 2); Lee Isaac Chung (Episode 3); Carl
Weathers (Episode 4); Peter Ramsey (Episode 5); and Bryce Dallas Howard (Episode 6).
We have to wait till episode 6 for the GOAT BDH?!
At least we know that episode 6 is going to be a baller
No John or Dave as Directors this season.
Excited for episode 4 to be the Greef Karga happy hour
Dave’s probably too busy with Asohka to direct an episode but no Jon is surprising
Actually not too surprising no Jon, he’s only directed one episode of the show in total
busts in singing the theme song
Is it tonight
Yes
Interesting
Unless they've changed something, it'll go live at midnight or just before
#TheMandalorian and #Grogu are looking STUNNING 🤩 on the red carpet of The Mandalorian season 3 launch event!
Gonna say yeah
It’s up
Short episode for a premiere.
Interesting how little of the Boba stuff is in the recap tbh.
Yessss. Time to watch.
||Baby Din!||
Oh wait ||not baby din||
I was going to say… thought I missed something.
I was thinking it was it was ||flashback||
Totally thought that too
I think it was intentional misdirection tbh
Did we know this species name before now?
Da Friks?
Yeah
I don't think so. I'm trying to be nice and wait to watch until I can watch it with a friend tomorrow. sigh I hope it was so good for you all.
(I enjoy spoilers anyway)
Yeah there was an anzellan who built the halcyon
I’m watching now and with my dad tomorrow lol.
S2 & S1 openers were both better but this was fine. It felt very much like the first issue of an arc of a comic book, and I mean that in a good way.
I can't believe they included the Purgill in the hyperspace lanes. After watching the Mission of the Week format of the Bad Batch I forget how much of the Mandalorian is setup for things to come. I agree the ending was edited weirdly. I wonder if something got cut.
The ending scene feels very set up for later to me, it doesn’t bother me.
Again, comic book-esque I’d say.
It just seemed odd because they didn’t set it up at all
Like he was going to get the ig-11 part but he stops to talk to bo-katan for a second and doesn’t really learn anything new?
I really liked the scene with the pirates on Narvaro, love the western showndown basically.
Seems like a missed opportunity to call them Fraks. Da friks da fraks. I'm putting my self in the corner now.
I took it as he was nearby and stoped by to recruit for his eventual quest to retake Mandalorian. Everything in this episode feels like its set up for the future of the season, like I’m sure we’ll see that pirate crew again.
Although sorta missed opportunity, I was hoping the pirates would be Hondo.
Yep. I expected them more in a Filoni written episode.
Also so much of this episode was exposition
Yet they completely gloss over explaining tbobf
yeah it's kind of wild that that's not even in the recap
like, someone could theoretically be watching Mandalorian and go from Chapter 16, the big finale where Grogu leaves with Luke, right into Ch. 17, and bam there's Grogu and Mando with a new ship
I did expect more of a recap during the previously on.
also a line in this episode to the effect of "Cara Dune died on the way to her home planet"
That line slayed
Its funny because I wonder if they even had to change that line from original script because initially she would have left anyways for her show.
Love the anzellans with Grogu
It was a quick and easy way of handling the characters absence though, and now we never have to think about her again.
Rick Famuyiwa who directed this episode is going to direct most of the season btw (3/8 episode). Which is fine, I felt the direction was solid.
do we know if/which ep Filoni did?
He’s not directing any this season
or Favreau for that matter
Neither are
okay so Filoni wrote on 4 and 7
Rachel Morrison is cinematographer of first Black Panther film, Lee Isaac Chung directed Minari, and Peter Ramsey was one of the directors of Into the Spider-Verse
which means Ahsoka will show up in one of those two lol
And/or more Bo-Katan
The glup shitto lover and glup shitto hater in me are at war
Cause I was really hoping the pirate would be Hondo
I was hoping for Hondo too but I really liked the design of the head pirate.
yeah loved the pirate costumes
Rewatching episode with dad, we need a gif of Bad Baby Azelan eventually.
I watched that scene and basically kept going “boy, this group of Mandalorian is stupid.” In regards to how they were attacking with nothing working. I especially laughed when they tried tethering it and just got flung around.
They aren’t the sharpest of tools in the shed
That would have been fun, but then you get the "wHy iS tHe sTaR wArS uNiVeRsE sO sMaLl?!" people out here.
Because it's SO MUCH FUN, JAN.
See I think its a missed opportunity by Disney not to have Battu or Hondo or something like that in their shows.
Would hondo be alive during mandalorian?
Its also only a matter of time before Hondo shows up in Bad Batch
my friend worked on mando season three and i found her name in the credits i am a very proud friend 🥹🥹
you know episode 6 about to be a good one because it’s directed by my girl
the queen can do no wrong
i will be wearing my directed by bryce dallas howard shirt
still will never get over guests comparing me to her when i worked at jurassic world
You’ll like this episode, @sacred badge.
Okay but bringing back IG-11
I hope they finish that storyline quickly vs dragging it out tbh.
Like he should have IG-11 back by end of next episode I’d say.
Were any of the pirates from other media or were they all new
Wookiepedia is saying first apperance on the two we have names for so I’m gonna say new
Isn’t it like a logistical issue making a helmet for someone that young
What do they do when they get older and their head gets bigger
How do they measure the heads if they can’t take off the helmets
They get a new helmet for every 300 times they say “this is the way”
Feel like Andor raised the bar for star wars for me
I had a friend saying the same exact thing that it’s hard to measure up post Andor.
Compared to like Boba or Obi I assume you mean?
I mean compared to previous seasons even
Interesting I feel like last seasom looked just as good the Krayt Dragon fight in opening especially
idk look at the amount of locations they went to in one episode alone
Wow thank you for the great news
Cara dune getting recruited by "special forces" was the funniest shit I've ever heard
"Special Forces" = The Daily Wire
This show is fun when it’s a western serial of going from place to place. This episode was nice
But rip anyone who didn’t see book of Boba Fett

If too political i can take down
Edit: i used my best judgement 😁
Good episode. Too short, and not as incredible as S2E1, but good.
Andor did nothing for me and the Bad Batch I just wasn't in the target demo for.
So this was a nice return to form
I'm also glad they established that Grogu has a little habitrail he can use to get to Mando's cockpit
It was nice
Short intro that didn’t tell us much but mando do be looking shiny
That last scene definitely felt weird
Instagram has a poster that features half of Din. on one side and half of Bo on the other with the dark saber held up dividing them so it seems like they’re going to be going at it especially after that scene at the end.
Yeah that goodbye felt like foreshadowing
This episode is kinda goofy so far
The second I complain about it Babu Frik shows up
The dialogue felt even clunkier the usual in this one but the action was good
And I like that we got a lot of weird lil aliens
That first interaction with the pirates was like
Cmon man
And then Cara Dune Died On The Way To Her Home Planet right before
Tbh I thought the cara dune write off was hilarious
What’s that from lol
Ah
What's the deal with the rejected potc enemy pirate captain
Is he an established character from the past, or some random living ghillie suit
2nd one
Cool
All of Star Wars can’t measure up to Andor, but it’s gonna be a bummer to go from “fascism is a disease empowered by apathy to haha evil guys have robots in dark colors”
LMAO my friend is complaining about Mando
And he was like "I didn't know I was supposed to watch those episodes of book of boba fett"
Smh not terminally online
Yeah he's a normie 😂
Well he’s got some good shit to watch then
He just wanted a hug.
Chapter 17 of #TheMandalorian is now streaming on @DisneyPlus.

Poor babu frik species
Yoooooo space whales!
Aiite, so, iono how I feel about the pirates and space davy jones, but I appreciate that his head was practical effects and not digital. Their pirate ship though was nice. Reminds me of the eclipse class star destroyer
the ending didn't bother me at all, she provided the exact location of the bathing waters. And its obviously setup so that she has nothing and now nothing to lose but to rule Mandalore, aka butt heads with Mando.
the multi-colored mandos looked goofy as fuck. Felt like I was at Star Wars celebration.
also the helmet made the hissing airlock sound but there's clearly no suit to lock onto....
I love IG11 but bringing him back kinda does disservice to the meaning of his sacrifice, and also felt more Fan Servicy. However, I'm a fan of IG-11 so I'll give them a pass... but just barely. It's obviously going to reveal itself epically and rescue Mando later on.
Only fake Lego
Honestly the pirates give a strong Banished vibe if anyone has played 343 halo games
I love everyone shitting on the name Grogu
the self-awareness of the show writers is appreciated.
There’s a chance a official one will release
This episode felt rushed.
I think that’s easily the best designed ship I’ve seen since the OT
I still miss the slow pacing of Season 1
I felt like nothing happened really
Yeah true it was like hopping around
Start on mandolorian colony, go to navarro, fight pirates, try to fix ig88, fight more pirates, go to Bo katan
Wild how it was like 50% exposition yet they didn’t even try to explain tbobf events
Can't imagine if my wife went straight into seeing Mando and Grogu showing up TOGETHER and on a new ship LOL
biggest HUH?

no one:
my brain for the past week:
This is new and I strongly dislike it
Did it drop early last week?
No
Dang
Well it always drop at 1150 if that’s what you mean
Yeah

Fuckin wild that Amy Sedaris went from a bit character in one episode to a major recurring character in multiple shows
So is this an upgrade worthy of a new Lego kit
“I’ll do this thing that makes it so I don’t have to breathe the atmosphere while I check if it’s safe to breathe the atmosphere”
Oh right he has a jet pack
Alternate title for Chapter 18: ||Carcinisation||

Pog soup at docking bay WHEN

I liked the episode but I don’t think it was very good
It’s like the ice spider episode without the stuff that made that episode work

Mythosaur
didnt realize this but my friend said that its probably intentional that he drowns, there is no redemption for the cult so they send them off knowing theyll die in the waters
That makes sense.
I wish TROS didnt have tatooine at the end so they could just blow it up and I never have to see it aga in tho
I feel like the pacing of this season is weird. I didn’t think we were going to go to Mandalore in episode 2
Same. I can only figure that there is some bigger story that they’ve done a great job at hiding from the trailers.
I think there is a much bigger story
The trailer about “something dark is happening out there” or something like that
We still haven’t seen the return of Moff Gideon and we have been teased that for a long time now.
I honestly like this season so far but as always the first few episodes have just been okay
Still had good moments though
First episode was probably better than this weeks but I’m confident they’ll reveal some bigger situation or arc soon
The fact that we’ve seen a brave/resourceful droid like R2/BB8, a grumpy curmudgeon droid like Chopper, and a scaredy droid like R5 makes me happy
There’s something off about this season but I can’t put my finger on what
I feel like the BOBF Mando episodes were a really bad transition to s3
Should have just made season 3 a few episodes longer so there would be more time to bridge the gap between seasons 2 and 3
I see what you mean but that’s honestly most mandalorian episodes
Great job making magic @proven hedge!
Mickey is promoting you to level 2 !
Fair
Episode 2 was just fine but it’s probably a bit of a filler ish episode before the start of a larger arc
I very much don’t like the acrobatic Grogu
I think it’s adorable and makes sense considering Yoda was the same.
Also yeah all the writing in this show is a let down post Andor I feel
I very much separate the two as they’re two very different type of Star Wars
Andor is clearly meant to be the more gritty serious adult show
And mando is meant to be the more approachable for casuals show
Until it became the "sure hope you're watching every piece of Star Wars media just in case we advance the main plot of the show you actually like and not tell anyone!"
not exactly casual friendly
Just a friendly reminder that we were supposed to have a canon novel and they canceled it bc the audience doesn’t read books
I more meant in terms of writing
in hindsight i can absolutely see that there was a point in time where Boba Fett had a movie script ready and Mando season 3 was 10 episodes instead of 8, and then what probably happened is the movie got cancelled and Pedro Pascal got busy so they needed to delay things a year
so the Boba movie gets split into 4 episodes and the first part of Mando 3 gets thrown in at the end
Agreed
Great episode for international women’s day
yeah I get theyre trying to explain it to grogu but its a lot of exposition
This makes me sad personally
Okay

We're only 2 episodes into the season
i could barely get thru this episode
and wife was on her phone for half the episode. iono what it is.
There's just TOO much exposition going on.
I was on my phone a bunch during the episode but I still enjoyed it. Maybe that's a bit of adhd that I haven't been diagnosed for.
I think I liked Mando more when he was a quiet protagonist. He's literally explaining everything.
Just SHOW us whats going on. I don't want to hear a podcast
and this whole water/bathing journey is just not interesting to me at all. This whole mandalore reveal has been very disappointing
half expected this creature to be related to Greivous in some way
Amy Sedaris, while I still like her, her character is getting a little too hammy/annoying
Grogu looks like a stuffed doll flying around like that. half the time wife and I were throwing our grogu doll around seeing how ridiculous it looked lol
and yeah the pacing is just off so far this season. We literally watched him send grogue BACK to Bo Katan and have them go BACK to Mandalore
thats not exposition we need lol
Bo-Katan makes Dinn Jarin look like a child fighting lolol.
Felt like the type of character she is wouldve taken advantage of that situation
Lets get rid of him for good
I saved your life
im just glad it we didn't get a fetch quest to fix ig11
Don't tempt them
She could've just taken the dark saber when he offered it but even with no one around, she still sticks by the fact that it needs to be earned. She's still a good person.
Goodish
I feel like mando has always been kind of exposition heavy and the writing feels on par with the previous seasons. It’s never been amazing but has been enjoyable.
And grogus flip felt like yoda - so appropriate.
But yeah I mean there’s so much else they could have done with Mandalore. I think there will be more to it with the hint of the mythosaur and some other things but the pacing is slow.
I never cared for Amy Sedaris’ character and the quest to fix IG is one of the weakest points
Also basically just dropped lol
I rolled my eyes when they revealed the Mythosaur. Imagine mentioning the mythical creature for the first time ever then BAM 5 mins later it shows up
I think she had enough screen time in Boba tbh
But I guess she's the only comic relief that this show apparently needs
Not the first time it was mentioned
Who directed this one? Same as first?
The armorer has said “The songs of eons past foretold of the mythosaur rising up to herald a new age of Mandalore.”
Fair. I don't recall that at all
I'm guessing they'll remind the audience next week
Mythosaur was hella cool
I do agree with the criticism of the weird pacing and over expositioned dialogue
Realistically episodes 1 and 2 could've had content cut out from them and been just a single episodes. They're already both on the shorter side anyways.
Agreed
Especially after watching last of us Jam pack hour long episodes
I thought the pool part would be the whole season lol
that ending though lol
Yeah the episode felt so short
Dude just wanted to say hi
Mando fainted he weak
Gimme all the large Star Wars monsters
nah gimme weird cyborg creatures that dude is my new favorite glup shitto
give me a good villain
If I recall right, the trailers ||showed the one cloning doc from the very first season.||
Dr Pershing
Yes
Hooooooooooly shiiittttt !!!
It's real
Would it make sense for the first order to emerge from the unknown regions in mando's time
I think the space whales are gonna lead to ||Joe Mama|| showing up this season
Can we get the mines of Mandalore on star tours 3.0
I think you mistake what I mean. Andor’s tone is very different absolutely, and I don’t want that for Mando. But these first two episodes don’t feel like they know what they want to be in a way writing wise, not even talking dialogue really. They set up last week to be about him going to find IG unit fix, and they abandon that in about 10 seconds this week and he’s already landing on Mandalore when that felt like a season long plot line. I’m okay with it being adventure of the week with overarching plot, but this doesn’t even feel like that.
Andor showed a way of doing self contained stories (in 3 episode blocks in Andor) that served towards an overarching plot that is so good, and I feel like you can take the lessons of that and apply it on a smaller level to Mando.
You think Disneyland has the budget for that?

Also I think with the recent news that Mando has no planned end Im kinda worried. Maybe it was created to capitlize on Rogue One but Andor feels like it was made because they wanted to make it and had something to say, there's some artistic meaning to it. Where as Mando can easily fall into "were making this because its popular and we just need to capitalize"
I saw that Mando comment more as "We know the next 5 steps but we don't know about the next 5 after that yet" which is to say they just haven't come up with a fitting ending but have more story to tell until then.
They reminded the audience in the recap to this episode.
Mainly episode 2 could have been cut down, and episode 1 could have been a longer pilot episode
They did? I always skip those in part because it foreshadows too much and that’s a great example of it.
You know, when they said bathe, I was imagining him stripping butt naked, but keeping the helmet on.
I mean, how do Mandalorians get down? Do they keep the helmet on?
Is their foreplay and climaxing the same?
“This is the way.”
HELMETS STAY ON
What’s the pillow talk? Reciting the creed to each other?
!vu
Hey, the people have to know.
Because we know them bitch ass Jedis aren’t getting freaky.
Rumored Next Episode Length is ||56|| Minutes.
Mandolore gottem
I have a feeling it’ll come around
I trust it’ll make sense when the season gets concluded
I haven’t seen the episode yet (we will once my family sits down to watch it) but I saw rumors that the reason for the stupid pirate plot last week was to set up Skeleton Crew
Oh I hate if this is true.
I genuinely got really angry seeing it
Like I thought that scene was so stupid
And now you mean to tell me it’s fucking setup for a spinoff?
I like the scene but I was hopeful it was continued in this show not another.
I thought skeleton crew was earlier in the timeline
Oh nope. Just looked it up I guess not
For some reason I thought it was like pre republic
There is a kids high republic show coming I forget what it’s called
Maybe that’s what I was mixing up
Yeah Young Jedi Adventures is the name.
Huh Skeleton Crew actually sounds interesting to me. I mean I was likely gonna watch it anyways but I love Amblin style coming of age idea.
He also is also literally flying in a banished ship
Great job making magic @past yew!
Mickey is promoting you to level 26 !
!iminthisphoto
Much better episode than last week

but like is Bo-Katan just sitting on her throne for days and days?
Yes
not even holotapes
or a kidnle
She’s clearly sleeping on it
The helmet can display stuff
i built a castle and I didn't add any bedrooms to it
Let her design and live in her fortress of solitude how she wants.
i was thinking the same thing. poor thing must be bored as hell in that huge place with nothing to do
Rewatched it with my partner and man it’s a good episode
Kuill also mentioned it in the very first episode of the series when he was ragging on Din for not being able to ride a Blurrg.
If this turns into an extended version of the Krayt Dragon episode where Din has to unite a bunch of disparate people to capture/tame the Mythosaur I'm so there.
That's currently the most likely reason for why there were those other Mandalorians in the trailer.
The decision to put the Bo Katan scene in the last episode and then explain that she loves in the same star system so she could be in this one was a bit strange. I liked that Baby Yoda had to go on his own adventure but their more or less having to do the middle part of the episode twice because of the logistics of where everyone was definitely muddled things somewhat.
By Harry Potter rules Bo Katan would have the Dark Saber now, since Spider-Man defeated and disarmed Din and then she defeated and disarmed him?
Yeah I'm thinking thats going to come into play when Din and Bo butt heads later on.
Din will go "Here, you've earned this. Take care of our people" Bo will lead the small rag tag to form new Mandalore, and Din and Grogu will set off for another journey as the wanderers.
Yeah Im kinda hoping Bo is more of an antagonist but not a villain and I think it's either going that direction or moreso teaming up even tho they don't like each other
At some point I can almost guarantee it will end up with Grogu taming the Mythosaur using the force, and he'll end up as The Mandalorian, Ruler of Mandalore
At which point Din will go "What are you even talking about, this is a child" and spend the next season being hunted by he Children of the Watch for abducting the True Mandalore
True i don't think they'd create all those new mandos just for the ep 1 intro, also there are a few more mandos that have actions figures which i don't think have appeared yet.
were those all new mandos or was it the group from season 1?
Looked like the same group as season 1
I mean it should be hard to find a new group for the Armourer I would think
I was under the impression that the Covert from S1 either got ferreted out by the Client's soldiers or were forced to unmask and go into hiding (thus revoking their status as Mandalorians by the CotW's creed).
I went to Pulse to see what ones you were talking about and found this very funny listing error.
LOL, paz vizsla and Dave filoni have done a great job on the series so far
You can now own a George Lucas Storm Trooper, a Dave Filoni X-Wing pilot, and a Jon Favreau Mandalorian.
I wonder what kind of figure Kathleen Kennedy will get some day
At any rate, the only Mandalorian I know to be coming/out currently is the dude from Bo Katan's crew in that one episode who didn't show up in the finale.
AXE WOVES
That sounds right
Baby girl coded
Whatever happened to this dude lol
this had me tearing up
Guess I’m staying up for this
It’s up. 58min
Okay that was a good opening
Who is this actor playing the officer
He looks so familiar
This episode was so
That was a very long way to get to the “here’s this seasons villain”
Like, great opening and ending
The rest was uh
Certainly an episode of television
Honestly I really really enjoyed the Pershing stuff
The space battle opening was cool, but I still think the mando stuff is super weak this season
The Pershing stuff was interesting, dragged on a bit long, and in the end seemed to do nothing for the story but have the “curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal” moment
Is that amnesty program a thing in expanded canon or new to this
its a long build up
Forgot this was a mando episode in the middle of that
Oh are the girlies gonna fight
Bo probably just wants revenge on the remnants of the empire for esploding her crib
Free my man Pershing he did nothing wrong
the entire time I was like "DONT TRUST HER, SHE MANIPULATING YOU"
The new republic seems to be basically as bad as the empire tho
Probably protect gideons secrets from getting out

And she was downplaying that when they did the toast wow
Lmfao my coworker just sent me “what bs filler is this”
It’s all connected
She's 100% still working for Gideon/Empire. She's an imperial spy. Her mission here was probably to silence the labrat who knew Gideon's plans for Baby Yoda.
She’s gonna get that grogu
Oh yeah the rock was first named in the High republic
I don’t think we needed nearly that much time with the doc just to see him get betrayed.
So this is why they were selling a lot of coruscant merch in the parks
They wanna be Andor so bad rn
No shot they played March of the Resistance
they fuckin book of boba'd mando

I’m the minority here that liked most of this episode, went on a bit too long but we got a full story in the episode for Pershing.
bro think he Carti Andor
I liked it but it wasnt the greatest imo, I liked seeing the state of the galaxy with Coruscant and the Amnesty program, but yeah kinda saw it from a mile away she was manipulating Pershing. Battle at the beginning was cool
Yeah I was suspicious of her from the start for sure.
Interesting directing decisions to basically have two episodes in one.
Bo was so confused she was like wtf I did not sign up for this shit. Din I’m gonna kill you
Yes but I think the fact that she goes along with it, looking at the Mythosaur emblem, she’s got something up her sleeve
Oh totally
she also just went from sitting alone in an empty castle after her closest friends abandoned her for not having the darksaber directly into being welcomed into the closest thing she has to family
I can't believe Pershing Mando-in-Boba'd Mando on his own show.
I had the tiniest thought that maybe the comms officer was working for Leia and trying to recruit Pershing to the Resistance when they were playing the March at the carnival, but then she went right back to being shady as hell
The fact that the entire Gideon plot seems to be related to Episode IX (read: worthless) is so disheartening.
Oh absolutely a huge part of it to, but she’s not gonna sit idly by and be a follower for long.
before ahsoka?
the worst thing I can think of them doing this season is bringing Thrawn in and somehow tying him to Episode 9/the beginnings of the First Order
Remember when the best part of the show was how disconnected it was to the rest of Star Wars?
i mean why introduce the space whales
We are the new republic. We can’t use any of that equipment used by the evil empire. Except for this torture device. Don’t worry about it, we gave it a new name
and didn't add any safeguards to prevent it being turned up to unsafe levels
doesn’t there being no safeguards imply that they’re consistently using it an unsafe levels
Like the whole existence of it is to show that the new republic is kinda fucked
some how its fine to leave him alone with the machine
yea this episode was very Andor (which i’m absolutely not upset about). I think it was great to pull it back a little from the fan service and show the beginnings of the fall of the new republic
Why was the resistance theme playing at the mountain plaza scene 💀💀
Also those star destroyers felt off scale-wise
My partner caught the heel turn a mile away
“She’s definitely still with the empire” like a minute after she’s introduced
They also house all the Imperials together so that they can potentially conspire, make them wear uniforms and dehumanize them with numbers.
Classic mistake
I love shooting the scenes with my helmet on. Not worrying about what my face is doing allows me to just focus on conveying emotion through the movement of my body. I run to the monitor to watch each take & critique the outcome before I’m satisfied. Such a fun acting challenge💙

Love her.
Sackhoff shows up and wears the helmet. Don’t know what Pedro Pascal’s problem is.
Too busy being daddy for people
TIL being one of the most in-demand actors and trying to balance filming schedules is a “problem”
wow that was just

im a sucker for starships though so, was nice seeing the interceptors and ISDs
wife the entire show was asking "why are they spending so much time with this doctor? Is mando going to visit this city?" She was so confused about why this was going on for so long.
If LEGO leaks are to be believed, ||Sabine|| may show up in an upcoming episode
Just give me Ezra
Zeb sadly I think we've seen the last of him in canon
Only other characters I hope get live action besides fallen order is inferno squad.
bUt iT mAkEs tHe uNiVeRsE tOo sMaLl!
Dude, returning characters are important to stories this big.
Lets us jump right in and see how someone we know and love will react to new people/situations. Lets us see how they grow.
Moff gideon sends his regards
I definitely think that segment was way too long just to yeet perishing
The new republic didn’t fall though, the first order just exploded the planet thing

My son got to work as an extra on set.
After kissing him goodnight that night and turning off the light:
Son: Hey daddy?
Me: Yeah baby?
(beat)
Son: Coruscant is real. I’ve been there.
Me (teary eyed): Yes you have baby.
Best day of my life.
Thank you Star Wars Universe 🙏🏽

It looks so real
It is real. He's been there.
yeah if i didn't notice the floor not lining up, would've 100% believed that rock was actually there
i'm actually impressed
i will say though, this picture looks great
but in the actual scene, the entire Coruscant atmosphere felt too empty/digital
Yeah. I thought it was real and was looking to see because I would expect it to be the volume. Then I noticed the curve that then led to misaligned floor/wall.
Same that's how I could kinda tell it was fake in the photo cause ngl it looks more real here than in the show
It was Taungsday.
Nobody goes out on Taungsday. It's too crowded.
fuckin hell
Leeeets gooo
||those live action clone trooper costumes keep paying off, and Temura Morrison keeps getting a paycheck||
Good episode
lol good to see Ahmed Best back in the star wars universe
I knew watching Jedi Temple Challenge would pay off.
Man, first I gotta watch Book of Boba, now Jedi Temple Challenge too?
hey it's a fun game show, I watched it, kinda reminds me of the 90s ones like legend of the hidden temple
so clearly i don't know that detailed info on anything prequels
but uh
the republic had TIE fighters?
or ships that look very very close to TIEs
they're v wings
The Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter, also known as the Alpha-3 Nimbus, V-wing starfighter, or Nimbus fighter, was a starfighter model manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering. The Alpha-3 Nimbus-class starfighter was a sharp and wedge-shaped fighter. Manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering, the same company that made Jedi starfighters, ...
once they went evil, they changed the sound of the blasters
neat
Man that was good
Join Jedi Master Kelleran Beq (Ahmed Best), wise-cracking protocol droid AD-3 (Mary Holland), and astromech LX-R5 in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, as they guide Padawans Drake and Grace (Blue Team), Griffin and Brayden (Orange Team), and Tommy and Geniah (Purple Team) in their quest to become Jedi Knights! #StayHome #WithMe
oh wait his name is kelleran in that as well, totally forgot his name
jedi master kelleran beq, apparently

OMG the credit art of Grogu with the crab rocks.
So wait... Was that the same kid who almost got killed twice now by local beasts?
And he's the son of that Paz Mandolorian guy? Now I'm going to be thinking about who the mother is... And if they had Mandolorian baby making session with their helmets on. 🤣
Who wouldn’t?
you can make a baby without the helmet

I thought they can't take off their helmets in front of anyone?
Even other Mandolorians
/Giphy doubt
Boo. Didnt work on mobile.
I mean, it is Disney. They'd have it be a sex scene with their full armor on.
"Is that a darksaber in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"
Some of those Mandalorian in the opening looked really computer generated
Good episode, loved the flashback to Order 66
Imagine wasting ammunition by shooting at water.
I did not appreciate my power cutting out last night with less than 5 minutes left in the episode.
So do y'all think ||jar jar sent his security force to help that jedi and grogu||
Or technically help himself
I was hoping the challenge would be hand to hand
I wanted to see the foundling punt Grogu
But then how would batuu sell wrist blasters
Much more entertaining episode
I like how they were just like "Yeah, this monster took this foundling and the foundling just hung out it's mouth or gut while the others trekked up a mountain and camped overnight."
No stomach acid I guess
They're def gonna be riding those babies by the finale
the rock climbing bit was surreal
like actual rock climbers in Mando suits. Was kinda funny and impressive
got all the holds correctly
I wouldn’t be surprised
i couldn't stop chuckling just watching the mandos just spray and pray into the lake
no target practice or anything just
shoot the water
also stupid mando kid didn't know you could shoot all 3 darts at once?
what a MORON
Gotta keep the mosasaur at bay
also how fucking far was that walk back to base when they ran out of jetpack fuel, unless Bo picked them up on the way back lol
This is the worst shirt I have seen in my life
I'm hoping a big part of Season 3 is Mando and Grogu therapizing each other through their past trauma.
They put a little mark on the dial so you won't turn it too far so now it's a therapy machine.
Every crew got the pumba, the zuckerberg, the atriox, the voldemort, and the miss piggy
Just watched episode 2, and it wasn’t great?
Welcome to season 3
Are you watching the episodes in French?
“Hon hon hon, this is le way.”
I really am upset that live action clones don’t seem to be happening soon
I mean actual movies/shows
Not 5 min flashbacks
A republic commando movie/show would slap so hard
Just keep him in suits or have others in the suits and he voices all of them
So they do it with the helmets on?
Why so sad? You’ll be able to tell your kids that they finally made The Book of Boba Fett.
Every time there is an order 66 flashback i pray that they show temple guards, but alas no god hears me
I mean those look like new cg models of Republic Gunships and V-wings in this episode 🧐
Not nearly as much Doctor Pershing as I would have liked in this one.
(JK this episode slapped. Good job, Carl Weathers)
I enjoyed the pre-evolved form of Baby Yoda, Babiest Yoda.
It’s too fucking goofy when he’s jumping all over the place
Why the fuck they make him look so stiff
Literally like tossing a doll up in the air lolol
I think the fact that Mandalorians by creed do not engage in basic communal activities like eating dinner together answers a lot of questions about how screwed up most of them are.
Also, Katee Sackhoff is really good at playing (what I assume to be) a subtly conniving character.
I feel like she's definitely got an angle
Gotta be true to yoda
Could be both. She could be enjoying being around others when everyone had abandoned her and also plotting something.
And to be fair to her, I think what's she's plotting is "I'm going tame a Mythosaur and use it to claim Madalore."
I think the delivery of a lot of her lines is conniving tbh and there's the whole dark saber bit
conniving is definitely the right word, for sure
"Would it be... acceptable?"
Just palpable ellipses.
But I also think that's the beauty of how they're using the masks. Because you can't really be sure what her read on the covert is
I think there's for sure a part of her that likes having friends, and "honor."
I don’t necessarily thinks it’s convining to want to rule the tribe considering pax? fought mando for the dark saber and armorour was fine
I think it’s really interesting how different our reads are though
I read that as her wanting approval from the armorer
It can be two things. She was lonely and depressed sitting in her empty castle so it’s nice to be around her people. She’s also conniving and ambitious and is maneuvering her way into a leadership position that she will use to claim Mandalore. I bet the Armourer dies by the finale.
Why does it have to be her vs armored
Armourer is de facto leader of the covert. Bo either has to turn her to her cause or take her out. I’m betting the latter.
Armorer has relinquished claim on mandalore
Bo can't be a leader with no people to lead
Also, if all the other clans fell away because she had no saber her killing the armourer and taking over this one would get her more legitimacy because her being on her own right now has obviously not been working
Armourer would likely object to turning the covert to reconquering Mandalore for Bo. It wouldn’t be the way. So she’s an obstacle to Bo’s ambitions.
IDK - watch the other episodes. Bo has always had an attitude and her writing/tone has always been in self-interest. She's not been depicted as one to just "go along with things" without any personal benefit. She's playing nice - for now.
I don’t see it being so small but maybe
Well she obviously wants mandalore and the mythosaur
Somethings bound to happen just based on the small bits we’ve seen in trailers.
Agreed
Idk, my interest in this show is waning. I liked it more when it was episode of the week western drama. I don't need to see the crumbs of the first order, the start of snoke cloning, the backdoor to thrawn before ahsoka, andor-lite but w/out the nuance or w/e else they trying to fill in in a hole of star wars timeline.
When they started this show it was more of a gamble and a side thing and now it's becoming the center of the star wars content. Meh.
Also Grogu would look stupid AF in a mando helmet and also just like Iron Man how they gonna cover their money maker. So what, Mando and Bo and Grogu come to together to be face mandos?
I also thought the jetpack writing was really bad. Like he flies after the animal and then he says "EVERYTIME I USE MY JETPACK I RUN OUT OF FUEL" like it's happened multiple times. How did they get to this planet? With a ship. Someone had to have a ship. Why would he multiple times pursue the creature and run out of gas.
Also how many people have they just let get swept up by this creature?
He’s an idiot
Lmao CLEARLY!!!
Idk you would think after the first or second time he would hop to a ship!!!!!!!!
Or I dunno, Mando is devoted to the clan, he's got a sick ass ship
Thinking ahead is way too hard for Star Wars writers
I'm just happy they saved the baby birds and didn't leave them to die
You would think they have a lookout or something
I was going to be big mad
I think it’s time they break the chain holding mando to this cult
LOL YEAH people have only been trying to eradicate them for HOW MANY YEARS????
They had a chance and rejected the idea
how you gonna have a secret location and no fkin lookout
And yeah I think the cult is dumb. Like when Paz made his child was the helmet on?
You know it.
I got a friend another discord to watch this season simply by saying this weeks episode brought up more questions as to whether the helmet stays on while they fuck or not
I also thought the image of him climbing that cliff in his gear was hilarious
Homie literally brought a fucking minigun to a rock climbing expedition.
I hope someone attacks them
Well ok I also kind of took issue that Bo's house got bombed out of nowhere and is just never addressed
they're like "oh shit tie fighters" - that's it
The poor droid left behind in that giant bombed out castle.
Deals with a brooding princess, only to spend its last few moments blown up.
#AllDroidsMatter
I forgot about that tbh lol
On another note, I really hope they do thrawn right
Me just sitting here wanting bo to mention Satine just once
We had that already
When professor doctor jumped from the train
I was proud of him
He's in good hands with Chris pratt
Casual
Where does this fit in the timeline
Only the ones that win the temple challenge survived order 66
That’s actually why it’s called temple challenge
↘️ Quoting Noah 🔜 SWCE (@keldorjedii)
How cool wouldn’t it be if it was Kelleran Beq who trained Grogu and hid him away. Give my man Ahmed Best some time to shine in a big SW project like Mando.
In an exclusive interview with StarWars.com, the actor discusses his major sequence in The Mandalorian, as well as his Star Wars past and future.
FUCK YES
That's next week, right?
yea chapter 5 is tonight
just always keep it on mute
Egg on my face for checking this before starting the episode
Next week gonna be insane
Wow. Great episode. Loved the pacing and the intrigue or slight mystery element.
Wasn't quite sure what the Armorer was doing with Bo at the end. Was almost thinking she was going to attack her or something.
The imperial ship thing at the end was really interesting. I kept thinking, Mr. Kim's gonna get blown up to smithereens right after discovering this.
(I actually thought the Mandolorians would actually kill him earlier too)
Same
I want more Zeb
Really enjoyable episode. Definitely looking forward to next week
I was just guessing about zeb!
And here I thought we'd seen the last of him canon wise
Fuckin Tim Meadows too
so is that everyone from the Rebels crew in live action now
everyone alive, at least
since we know Hera and Sabine are in Ahsoka
If we get a full Rebels reunion in Ahsoka I would be so happy.
I’d say it’s pretty likely at this point
With Ahsoka hunting Thrawn, and by extension, Ezra
Ashoka is just going to be the next season of Rebels but with nothing to rebel against.
I just really hope the next arc of Mando/Ahsoka doesn’t end up “Thrawn, but First Order origins actually”
I think we may have a chance for jacen maybe
That was a great episode. Best of the season so far for sure.
Still a little unsure on why Bo-Katan is allowed to remove her helmet though.
The Armorer is all in on Bo. The covert has a place to call home now, but more importantly a place to gather an army
because not everyone believes the helmet rule
Yeah, the helmet thing is very specifically the Children of the Watch, this covert
The Armorer knows that Bo can talk to other, reform Mando’s if you will, and bring them home
Gotcha that’s kinda what I was thinking but wasn’t sure if I was reaching the same conclusion as others.
I feel like they really did a 180 on how they portrayed the cult between seasons tbh
“Oh are they fucking nuts?”
“Oh they are are but they’re cool at least”
Getting all other Mandalorian to follow the helmet rule isn’t going to really fly so they’ll be a divided group still of helmets and helmnots
Feels like the season just started, but we're already now more than halfway through the season. 😦
Interested to see where we go in these last 3 episodes of Season 3.
guessing they won't get back to Mandalore until Season 4
and if Bo is able to meet up with folks like Sabine, it'll be either off-screen
(or in Ahsoka with Ezra)
just also realizing we're only about a week away from Celebration Europe. Which means, Ahsoka trailer should be incoming!
(or at least a teaser)
I was very scared this was going to be another Din-less episode at the beginning
Armorer: "Bo Katan walks both worlds. She can bring us all together."
Din: "Hi, what the fuck?"
Din is very much still in the “I am impure if my helmet comes off” mindset though
Just cause he’s taken it off a few times when absolutely necessary doesn’t change that, he went on a fuckin vision quest to come back in
The Armorer knows that Bo thinks it’s stupid
That's true, he's had his helmet off for maybe 15 minutes cumulative his whole life.
It's still kind of interesting, just half a season ago Armorer called Bo Katan a "cautionary tale."
Now she's backing her
The armorer is an opportunist. Someone with the tactical ability to do what she’s been wanting to do for years comes along, playing along with your cults traditions and morales,
Bo is an opportunity
Remember, bo also told her she saw a mythosaur
I feel like the Darksaber is coming back into play real soon.
I’m surprised it didn’t at the end of the episode tbh. I expected the armorer to encourage her to challenge Din as part of her new mission to unit Mandalorian
It’s entirely possible that the armorer is basically manipulating Bo and realizes she’s the only one who can properly unit mandalore
I think the endgame is still armorer as some kind of villain
but a villain in what way?
Being a villain in a manipulative cult leader type of way I’d imagine
i mean i see that coming for the darksaber
din still doesnt want it lol
because
the stories man
the armourer is by the creed
i mean bo already was given the saber by sabine
once
i didnt finish rebels so i dont know
but yes i remember season 2
If Armorer does have a villain arc now I think it's going to be in the vein of turning Bo against Mando in their quest to retake Mandalore.
I was picturing a Bo vs Armorer conflict but now I'm picturing Palpatine and Vader again.
But I'm also not convinced that she's evil
For sure. That's basically how he got it off Gideon
he just wants to lookout for grogu
Yeah, not to the death. Vizsla already tried
I think that might be how Sabine got it off of Paz Vizsla in the cartoon?
Din also still can’t physically handle the saber
Retroactively make Pedro the star of every prestige miniseries
It’s like he’s trying to swing around a sledge hammer one handed
Yup. The downfall and losing it is why she feels it’s cursed and wouldn’t take it from Din when offered
Ah, I may be conflating it with the fight between Bo and Paz (was Obi-San there or something?)
This guy is Pre Vizsla, a descendant of Paz
Both are Jon Favreau though
other way around
Might not be a direct descendant of pre but same family
Do I have that backwards?
Oh
Lol
I suppose Bo may think this Mythosaur angle is better than the Darksaber one for getting her back in charge. It's certainly a win-win as far as she and Din (the only person in her recent history that still talks to her) are concerned.
I'm super interested in where they go with her.
I think the Armorer is a misdirect
Someone you definitely expect to have a villain turn at some point but in actuality really just wants to unite the Mandalorians
Especially considering the villain of this show is clearly still Gideon
I really hope not
I feel like all of the first two seasons built up that the old archaic mandalorian ways were really shitty and only caused issues
At the same time though, you always got the feeling she was in Din's corner in a way she wouldn't necessarily be for someone else.
gideon and thrawn
It could just be that he was the main breadwinner for the covert, but in season 1 she had a sort of Gandalf quality, where she was wise and aloof but also definitely on a side.
I wouldn't have minded if none of the Gideon stuff was in S3. Gideon is at least a Mandalorian character, so these interludes don't bother me as much as in BoBF, but they do take focus off a much more interesting story.
Now, do we think Gideon left some Beskar at the shuttle wreck to frame the Mandalorians, or does he have an evil sect of Mandos working for him that we'll meet in the episode?
The former seems more in-character for him, the latter seems cooler for the premise they're setting up. It may also explain how he got the saber in the first place.
probably frame them
bottle made a point, aren't there still sone mandos still loyal to the empire?
Remember that the original bounty Din took was paying in beskar, so its not out of the question that someone else has some
Why did they make Tim Meadows a bureaucrat
i can't tell if the "everyone talks like a video game character" syndrome is worse this season or if we're just post-Andor and that makes it more noticable
Mandolorian is a show of side quests and this episode was them finally doing a main story quest
So the writing style stuck out a bit more
I liked that they had a talking stick. That was fun
Carl Weathers talks like he’s in a theme park attraction
#themandalorian spoilers
din watching bo walk by without her helmet on without a single problem

i will say
though the vibes are still off this season
this episode had good action
thank you mr spiderverse
Same, it's kinda weird cause we're halfway through the season but I'm questioning whether we'll even get to big Mandalore stuff
But I will say this episode reminded me of the really good action of the first season
honestly, it worked really well because i think doing the "let me force my way into this private meeting by pretending to take a lunch order" gag wouldn't have worked as well with any other actor
like, subconsciously at least i'm thinking "okay this works because Tim Meadows"
Rebels family, how are we feeling? #TheMandalorian

Yeah I was just wondering where Zeb’s husband was
fuck I forgot he was married
Lol beedont made this comment while watching episode about video game lines
The ship battles are some of the best stuff this season
However, the Lasat honor guard and the former Empire officer gradually became allies before becoming close friends.
historians would say they were close friends
Could just be buddies/brothers, but I love the idea that they could be more.
STEVE BELIEVES. IT'S CANON.
Man, all this talk about dark sabers and mandalore, but no mention of ughnaut schmee
was gonna mention that lol
his costume 100% a reference
I laughed at the schmee outfit freal
Didn't realize this is Peter Ramsey's episode. Did a great job coming into the SW universe.
i’m so excited for BDH next episode
The Mando in the Leather Mask
broke boy mando
Don’t pull your weight with the convert and you don’t get fancy beskar
Woo, great episode. I love the pew pews.
Omg
Evil sect of mando
Mando v mando for mandalore
Is the end game for this season imo
Armorer is good
I’m confused though, her sect always was good though?
Im coming to a point where where does thrawn go in the sequels?
He just dies in Ashoka then or what
I probably need to read the actual canon version of him
I’m guessing Bo is going to fail and need Din to actually figure out how to weld the dark saber to get the clans in line and going after Gideon plus those who broke him free
Her sect came from the death watch I believe? As Din as a child was saved by mandalorians wearing the death watch crest. So like it’s iffy?
I hope din doesn’t keep the dark saber
But like the death watch (at least in clone wars) didn’t follow “the way” so like
Fair, I was more meaning just what we’ve seen in the mandolorian
Yeah, it’ll be interesting to see where this beskar in Moff’s ship came from
I don’t think it would be anyone from armorer’s sect since they literally fought him and he forced them off their hiding grounds.
