I love the sound design of Cult of the Lamb. Everything sounds wonderful and adds to the experience, so I generally prefer to have sound on. That being said, I find I have to turn my sound off everytime I enter my cult. Everytime I feed my followers I feed en-masse, then run away before they start eating like I've just dropped a live grenade. So, I turn my volume off.
I don't really want to do this, the sound design is amazing! But I just can't handle the chewing noises.
