It's the same reason why some YouTubers will blur out the handles of people whose tweets are shown in a video; yeah, the people may say some rude things, but that doesn't usually warrant a significantly larger audience being able to harass them

I feel like this wouldn’t be the best idea but would agree it could sort of work as a hall of shame, somewhat with this on a few conditions - the ban log is updated monthly, not time of and only display name not username is published additionally ban log only shows 30 bans at a time.
That way it’s more of a “This is how we are protecting the server” and less of a “harass these people”.
Also small offenses (at least relative to ban-worthy ones) should be low priority for being on the list.

There shouldn't be names present at all

You're basically scaring people into compliance by putting other people on display, which will realistically lead to harassment against them in disproportionate amounts even if the developers explicitly say not to. That's how personal callouts realistically play out; it's unfortunate but that's what happens and that's why names are often blurred.

It's not always bad to make a public warning on social media about someone, such as if the person is actively dangerous or abusive, but generally speaking, you don't want it to be public as a universal rule

There should be options like "Close Post" and "Lock Post" if you hold the actual channel name within the channel list
