basically dont play commando

second go for crits those are lifesavers

also try to get a good amount of healing

brass contraptions, elder or anything else that spawns on stage 4 plus is a must kill cause they do heavy damage

mythrix is extremely chaotic, fast and deadly

staying still for even a second could mean the end for you

most bosses aren’t a problem besides imp lord and thats about it

firerate, speed and overall hit/kill effects are extremely good( sacrificial dagger for example)

brilliant behemoth and the shattering judgement are really good items

lunar items are optional but if you want one then try to get shattered glass i think thats what its called

uncommon items arent much to talk about just go for the feather and the one that gives increased attack speed from every crit hit

commons are self explanatory

75% of then are good

15% are good if you have many

and the 5% are the shit ones

also if you dont have a legendary far in the run you can either get one in sirens call by destroying alot of egg nest and killing the gaint robot thing

or find legendary chest (big gold ones with a skull on it)

but the red one is a guaranteed to have one

the other one is a chance

and i almost forgot

leave the stage as soon as possible

the further you play, the more harder it will become

i suggest 5-7 minutes per stage

dont have to rush it doe

also if you wanna skip the pillar part to get to mythrix just use the vase active item and skip the entire thing

1-2-3 stages aren’t hard just stock up on items

and thats about it

or my favourite example: Sonic Mania. This game meant to be a "Classic Sonic" game which means it was made like ~30 year old game style, that unexceptionable nowdays. But if we forgot that its 2k22, the game is great

Old games and difficulty is weird.
On one hand you have the coin munchers that were designed to make you pay more quearters (Metal slug, contra and such) on the other hand some old games are hard because they are janky and don't have the QoL that modern games have.
There are I think not that many old games that are similar in their difficulty to more modern games.

But honestly we live in a golden age of gaming as consumers. Even when some games fail there are so many releases that offer something to everyone.

Not to mention that a lot of old games are hard simply because they are extremely short. They had to put in those "cheap deaths" that you cant really avoid unless you know they are coming to extend playtime

Sorta, more of a team deathmatch if anything. It's sad because there actually used to be a popular battle Royale server where you had to drop in, find your loot, and everything, but the server just kinda died off :(

So, with standard triple A video game prices going up from 59.99 to 69.99, I'll bet the memers are very happy. (of course, Indie game prices seem relatively calm by comparison)

It feels really wasteful when it's all said and done, like they're spending so much money on graphics and marketing that they need to balloon the price and file size of these games. I just want the game to be fun, personally, no need for triple A budgets to make a fun game.

I might be more sympathetic if I saw bigger studios acting less wastefully. Like they could reuse game engines and art assets, make art more stylized and less realistic. There are definitely ways to cut budgets, but they go against the whole "more is more" philosophy.

Yeah, it's a bad trend that's only gotten worse. If you must go for high quality graphics, I honestly don't think they need to be more realistic than the PS3 era was, and even then I can see a lot of value in low-res but highly stylized.

I get the feeling it's tied to reviews. Video game reviewers tend to hyperfixate on objective metrics of worth like graphical fidelity and other "polish" factors. But those are things that make a film good, what makes a game good is how fun it is, which is subjective.
