Okay well for spongeās benefit. The NMG fleece is DW4 break the basket by the fisherman for a salmon and in A2 kill the mushroom Pilgrims for 12+ mushrooms. 10 mushrooms to sozo, the fish to the fox, move to Pilgrimās passage give the fox a follower, then fish for one rare fish for your 4th piece

im not too sure on the actual numbers behind it, I wanna say there might be some message history very early on in these channels somewhere back when we were still trying to determine the best route for talisman piece collections and splitting unrestricted/nmg up, someone might have crunched the numbers back then but I could not tell you off the dome
also idk if the catch rates have changed since dlc or something too, I tried to do a current patch run a few weeks ago and it felt terrible trying to get any special fish to drop

Hmmm that sounds very weird. I recall people saying they were having trouble with it when the game first cane out so it was patched to guarantee you got it after a while.
I definitely did have some runs with bad fishing. I know ive run out of fish looking for that first rare one.

yeah im talking like, multiple times running out of fish and coming back to try again. even in another save file nothing was showing up.
at least until i reinstalled the game and got squid on the second cast, and tried another file that took a while but did eventually get it. so that's my hot speedrunning tip -- reinstall the game if weirdness like that happens. :'D

Neo-100% is ran with relics patch and includes all the contents of it.
Remember to take breaks! Every 2 hours you may take a break of max. 30 mins :) and those 30 mins will be deducted from your final time

Buckle up for a long run. Neo100 runs have been attempted and they are long, like 10 hours long.
Make sure to know all unique unlock conditions before starting the run.
Knock out the 16 crusades and beat TOWW. Then in the post game attempt to recruit kalamar and shamara first, the sickness and dissenting will take a few days to clear. Donāt go after the second witnesses until the bishop gives the quest for their relic.
100% was held back by devotion requirements the length of neo100 makes devotion less of an issue. The new issue is god tears, 28 are gathered from doing the post crusades. You need 44 (20 forgotten doctrines, 12 talisman pieces, 2 necklaces, 9/10 follower forms) 16 got tears need to be gotten from purgatory which needs to be worked on as soon as possible because of the per day limit. The more fleeces you work with the more short purgatory runs you can do. Dont die in purgatory.

so pretty much no constant dialogue with ratau, no mandatory quests to collect certain materials to build the shrine, temple and cooking station, etc
it saves a good chunk of time

BTW just some notes I picked up, after entering the crusade hub area with the spider, you are stuck in the area. You can get out by unloading the cult by entering a crusade

It's hard to fully explain how it works, but here's my guess: after you get the spider into the hub area, the game detects that it isn't supposed to be there, so it defaults it to the last place you were before entering the hub, but the game still thinks you are holding the spider, so it spawns the barrier (which in this case is invisible) then after you go into a crusade, it spawns the spider where you last were, then if you enter and exit another crusade, it will respawn the original spider wherever you put it beyond the barrier
Webber duplicating is pretty cool I guess
I think this is pretty useful because you can get a lot of webber followers in a relatively short period of time. Webbers are especially useful because they cannot starve, so you don't need farms or anything like that.

Also @dry spire ya say you couldnt think of anything, if say you get past leshy and another 2-3 crusades before nightfall, execute the infinite webber glitch (assuming it respawns after every crusade) thats 10 free followers without the need to indoctrinate and without needing to risk the 4 encounters before indoctrinating someone, making any% possibly faster if you can get all the spiders on night 1 (i cant remember how many you need to get the skull)
And for bishops, its the same thing
It removes the need to go and indoctrinate more followers

100% - is anything before relics of the old faith dlc was introduced. ideally you down patch for this. this run usually ends when TOWW is killed, and since theres no post game, you end the run there
neo100% - is finishing off the Relics dlc, it ends when you get the last thing either from cosmic trader or totem
whatever-sins-100%-will-be-called100% - ends the same way as relics but with the added sins dlc stuff
so lore, clothes, new forms and whatever

Hi! Just popping in to share a glitch I encountered, in case its helpful in any way to you guys! I'm not sure if this is known about already (my apologies if it is!), but in my casual playthrough I came across a glitch where the lamb was immortal and wouldn't take any damage. Made fighting enemies a bit quicker since there was no knockback and I didnt have to worry as much about positioning / waiting for openings to attack. I'm not exactly 100% sure what caused it though? I was talking to Berith and the last text box stayed on screen after ending the conversation, so my best guess is that the game wouldn't let me die since it still considered me to be viewing the text box. If y'all want clips I'm happy to share, but it took a minute for me to notice the glitch was even active so I wasn't able to get a clip of the conversation before the glitched text box appeared. To my memory though, I was kind of spamming through the text box and might have been pre-emptively pressing the imputs to roll away in some direction. This was on the switch version so I'm not sure if it's version exclusive but I figured there was no harm in mentioning in case it leads to anything!

Going into this room I was at full health and the only thing that seemed off was the text box. I could still go through doors and progress normally!
The clips before this are me standing still testing buttons to see if I could get rid of the text box, which obviously didnāt work haha but bc switch clips only go back 30 seconds I just barely missed the interaction that caused the glitch in the first place!

Hammer has most individual dmg, but I think claws have the most dps if 3rd hit is chaindd

yeah 3rd claw hit feels like the highest dps, intuitively. Hammer is the easiest weapon to roll cancel for increased dps though, because the recovery is like 30% of the longest animation in the game.

We have the No Major Glitches category, which kind of does that already. Old fleece can be theoretically faster, but going with no fleece is also fast. Also white fleece could be a good strat.

100% understand your concerns, and we defs wanna make it out to be as accessible for people as possible. Have you tried running Quick Start/Pentinence categories? They are run on current patch and are definitely faster versions than what was typically run on Unrestricted any%, the leaderboards only have most runs in the Unrestricted category because that was the fastest at the time on and around release during the game's height of popularity, but now with the DLCs Quick Start/Pentinence are definitely faster categories of any%.

yeah the quickstart/pentinence features were only introduced in the game with the DLCs so you cant play those categories on the early downpatched versions that any% unrestricted runs on

Exploit Description: as title says, I was able to gain āSpirit Heartsā while using the āFleece of the Berserkerā. This made it so I could take damage without dying.
Video Explanation:
Clip 1: I had received half a āSpirit Heartā from the āEmpowered Shrine of Disciplesā, and was able to take one hit without dying.
Clip 2 and Clip 3: I had used the āLaplaceās Diceā relic, and received 1 full āSpirit Heartā, which allowed me to take 2 hits without dying.
Thereās a more in-depth description for the people who want to use it
method one requires that you get a disciple, but that is slow, and the shrine takes a while to fill

i never noticed it until now and it might be helpful idk: destroying the statues on crusades where you havent defeated the boss in that biome fully fills your fervor. so you can use the fervor's favor fleece, heal as much as you can with remaining fervor, and then fill back up
im also just blind and half the time i dont destroy the statues so everyone might know that already š¤·

Idea for speedruns: When dealing with Heket in Anura, ensure you have the Omnipresence ability and the Feasting Ritual. This will ensure that when your followers are starved, you can quickly return to base and refill their hunger so they wonāt starve. The more followers saved from starvation, the better, since youāll most likely have more followers which means unlocking more bosses faster

Recently got into the speedrun of this because I want to submit a co-op run to a marathon.
Since there's barely any co-op rules, I'd like to ask here if it the trick we've been using would be considered a glitch:
Basically if you enter a crusade and have player 1 pick a weapon > remove co-op player > add co-op player it'll copy the weapons from player 1. (so player 2 gets player 1's weapons)
We've been doing that to avoid having 1 person with a dagger. (or bad weapon, etc)
Also, is fishing worth it for the fleece? We've just done a run where we went fishing 3 times and only got 1 of the required fish. It was defo not worth it.
I also don't know what the "fox" is who is mentioned in the guide to bring a fish to!

When I played semi casual 100% run the fastest way I found for sin generation was to give out a bunch of drinks then use the sinners pride ritual to extract 3 sin from them then force the sinner into crusades which gives another sin when absolved. Idk how else you would farm it since there's really no fast repeating method

If it's a bishop make sure you grab the heart before warping. Otherwise I've had no issues with it so if you're having trouble it's likely a coop thing. Send a video if you've got one

I haven't really run much on modern patch since older patches give advantages that just don't exist on modern, it is possible an update either attempted to fix it or messed with the skip making it impossible in some situations

I don't think that had happened to in my runs, or I don't remember it anyway. The main worry is to get Wood and Rock.
You do get 10% bonus to everything if you are hitless in the dungeon, or if you are hitless during the miniboss fight, something like that. Though that rarely helps out with Rock and Wood anyway, it sometimes does. Coins I don't think been an issue.
If it happens like at least 10% or 20% of the time though, not having enough coin, something to bring up again. That sounds really high. I feel like 1 out of 5 run or 1 out of 4. You'll get enough Wood and Rock to build Temple.
