#Nightmare puppeteer barbaric fury damage calculation bug

Nightmare puppeteer damage will often randomly trigger between its normal damage and another calculation that’s about -e22. Here when I set nightmare puppeteer to level 1 it deals below normal shadow clone damage.

The bug as far as I can tell only happens while barbaric fury is levelled and active tapping is happening, but also while fire sword and deadly strike are active (affecting the difference by about e20 and e2 each). but it is hard to test things exactly as it is random. I had fury at level 6 in this clip.

Edit: the difference between the -e22 and -e2 happening might be more to do with spell activation order or twilight fairies rather than fire sword or deadly strike

# tight mirage Did you take into account that the damage from Barbaric Fury and Active Tap Dama...

Barbaric fury/active tapping damage is automatically applied to shadow clone (as well as for example heavenly strike), you dont have to actually get the bonus taps to benefit from the multiplier anymore.

Weirdly the low damage instance only happens while you are actively tapping, so if it was working that way, theoretically it would be the opposite, and you would get a small damage bonus, not a universal SC damage bonus from levelling the skill, and a weird random chance for a lower damage proc.

So if you see e20 on Barbaric Fury, it’s not likely the problem lies there

#

And their bonuses are only active for SC/HS when actively tapping, or with the set that automates Active Tap Bonuses

Right, but thats the same for stuff like hero damage and gunblade damage, this random chance to do lower damage only happens while actively tapping and with the barbaric skill present, if you level the skill and don’t actively tap, you get higher damage and never see it

I can’t see how many points you have into it, or the effect it has

#

I just check vs the skill level you mentioned above, and there is 0 chance this bug is related to Barbaric Fury if that’s all you have. That’s only like e3-e4 damage for SC, nowhere near the damage difference you’re seeing

#

Might just want to drop your support ID so they can look into it on their end

Am I correct that the only two equipments that change active tapping damage are dune strider and spartan champion? Ill get back with some numbers

Test 1:
Nightmare puppet level 20, Barbaric fury level 20, Dune strider, spartan champion:

SC damage before and after active tapping: 1.68e52838

NM damage before and after active tapping: 3.05e52866

Weird NM damage: 6.15e52844

Test 2:
exact same set up on another prestige but changing the order of spell activation from twilight fairies second after SC, to twilight fairies last (didnt spend gold/relics/mementos in either)

SC damage: 8.02e52817

NM damage: 1.45e52846

Weird NM damage: 3.13e52844

Also, the fact that you upped your Barbaric Fury to 20, and the difference between the normal and lost damage values didn’t change, is good proof that Active Tap is not the issue here

Both recordings have the lower damages happening after a normal proc and without a twilight fairy tap in between

Yeah it doesn’t look like Active Tap is the issue here. If it was, your greatly increased Barbaric Fury level would reflect a change in the normal and lost damage values, but it seems to be the same

Must be something else going on. Hopefully they can take a look and find something on their end 👍
