Pay to play? You're not even paying real money for tickets. 20 gems isn't even much. Classic Duels will only be down for a certain amount of time. They won't be removed. The fact that it was reduced to 20 gems means that you can get Nemesis or Elite monsters for much cheaper than what they normally cost.

Whenever Grand Duels are available, I constantly play them in place of Classic Duels. The fact that they'll be around for days other than the weekend makes it easier for me grind Souls without stressing.

An estimated 650 or so. Already have gotten 1 Nemesis chest and a half and 12 souls away from an Elite chest. Not to mention the 500+ Elemental cells that I've gotten from the duels to rank up my Nemesis monsters.
May be more. I've been dueling constantly since the update was released.

I've had multiple 0 win runs. Even today. I think I've gotten like 5 0 win runs because of horrible luck. It happens. They're reducing the available monsters to 44 from 88 when Classic Duels are disabled which cut down the chances of RNG ruining you greatly.

@willow kite In Duels, she's mediocre. Monsters like Saika and Belbreath can apply Immunity to Control to their team. Ruby Explosion is a 1 Warmup skill with a massive 60 stamina cost. There are many Stamina drainers like Nabuline, Volthar, and now Silverleaf that can pretty much prevent Ruby from even using the skill. However her skill, High Wage, is a 0 Warmup skill that applies a random control effect which has a chance of being Mega. Mirak's I Have No Mouth skill was ruined and changed to 1 Warmup because it had a chance of applying a Mega effect. Xiron managed to slip through.
Her Speed is alright in Duels. Not the best, however. She can be easily CDA, Stamina drained, or controlled by the monsters going before her.

@willow kite In my opinion, the best denial in Duels right now is Nabuline or Patient Cyber. Nabuline is pretty much meta because of her 50 Stamina removal+Leak or her 100% stamina removal. Being Immunity to control is also a plus. Patient Cyber has the fastest speed out of the CDA and I believe the fastest speed of the deniers. Saika is faster but Bake Eyes was nerfed to 1 Warmup.
I understand that they cannot be immune to both, but it doesn't justify the fact that Xiron is the best denier. There are faster deniers in duels which outclass Xiron. She's alright. I've played with her many times and she hasn't been the best for me.

Being one of the faster monsters in Duels, she can apply the AoE Skill Mirror to her team making the enemy think twice about attacking. Her 75% stamina removal and team NER is amazing. A Single target Possess+Poison and a AoE version of it is simply beautiful in Live Duels.

I absolutely loved this team. Silverleaf is kind of the new Wangzhou. Her 75% Stamina Removal + Nabuline's 50% Removal+Leak is a beautiful combo. Olnir was used as more of a Curser, but since I fought about 3 Hookuais this run, I would focus my attacks on Hookuai because of his Deadly Interruption skill while Silverleaf and Nabuline are denying the other 2 monsters. This team was incredibly fun. If you get a chance to try it, take it. Super fast and fun team.

Running all TS is actually really good. Most players run TS and full Speed on just one monster, which is most likely a denier. Since skill warmups exist, opponents can only target 1 monster to deny. This team doesn't really lean on a certain monster, but it could hold up on its own. I never used it this run, but I recommend using Back from Valhalla on Olnir.

I absolutely loved this team. I would literally one shot entire teams on my first turn, or even if Hookuai doesn't kill them, the DoT kills them. Koralle's sole purpose was a meat shield for single target attacks during the enemy denier's first turn. I ran Believe in Yourself on Saika, giving Double Damage AND Precision. The precision proved incredibly useful as I fought enemies like Draghar with his SC and Baba Yaga with her AoE Blind. Most matches were less than 1 minute long. My only loss came from O'Reilly, where he applies Bleed and Poison to Hookuai, preventing him from 1 shotting the enemy team.
Rune Set: went brave with 1 Team Strength on Koralle to ensure 1 shots. Turned out to be incredibly rewarding.

@modern kettle Of course it is. It takes a while to get used to all of the strategies and the 44 monster pool but you'll get used to it. Grand Duels can give you Nemesis and Elite monsters for far cheaper than the chest for gems (600 gems). It also gives you an abundance of elemental cells to rank up your monsters or Nemesis/Elite you get from Souls so you can get their Sg4 skills.

Honestly, I don't have an issue with duels except for the removal of Classic Duels and no way to get free Grand Duel tickets. They can maybe increase the rewards to something better.

- in 10m also a Time Challenge for victories in Grand Duels will appear. Stay tunned

I’m testing out this rune setup with two deniers. Basically it allows all three monsters to go after the enemy denier who usually has 3 speed + 6 team speed

Live Duels / Friendly Live Battles block
Some users have explained that they are not able to play live duels anymore... even if they restart their game. It also happens the same on Live Friendly Battles. The reason is you have still pending a live duel battle to be finished.
We have already launched a fix for unblocking those users. In case you are blocked again in live duels matchmaking, you will be able to play again after 1 hour.

Zeighar imo has uses. He can be an anticipator, technically has an Immunity to CDA since he has Mighty Servant, which gives him an immediate turn in exchange for some HP, can curse, stun and bleed, can deny turn 1 in tourneys via dominate enlightenment, and that’s covering the skillset I use on him
Looking through, it can also block positives and keep the teams stamina in check, so even if it’s not as good as Draghar (the other monster from the maze), you can’t deny that he has a lot of utility in the deny slot
Oh yeah, and Res block too, doesn’t affect much but if ever in a situation with Wyrm, Sammy, Necro, Rag, or Undertaker, he has a check for that too

Imo classic duels are more fun than Grand Duels due to the selection of monsters being far more older monsters that can really shine well years after being released

Tbh Classic is better since it can actually be accessed without breaking your gem wallet, the selection allows for more fun and variety, which gives older monsters a chance to shine, and doesn’t include any game breaking monsters that can be found in Grand duels (like Pierceid, Xiron the Ruby, etc.)
