@junior cloud i think they had him for a calendar, perhaps you weren’t around that year, he isn’t that good in combat for sure but he is used in a lot of breeding events so i think investing in getting his cells is a good thing, or maybe with the help of your teammates you can get him easily without spending much

Yeah, I just tried all of those things and nothing changed anything. The video I saw was from a year or 2 ago, I assumed it was patched but it was worth a shot. Looks like all of that is done server side. At least You can check what the breeding result is even if you can't do anything about it.
