I just think it’s a little crazy for them to charge so much for soul hugger. I think some people might have confused certain statements. When People say there is a 20% discount in the last hour. They mean the very end of the maze. They don’t mean the last hour Soul Hugger is available. I think another discount before SH expires is possible, but anything other then 10% is very unlikely.
Also, as long as I’ve played the game they have had a 20% discount at the end of the maze. But it doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t change that either.

Hopefully feedback is listened to and the next one will reward more than 2 percent of its player base. The carrot was out of reach for the rest of us. And the costs for all the others have risen so much that it’s not worth the time investment for the majority of the players as well. The discount times should be revisited in the future as well as we were all trained to log in for them and it brought many people online at the same time.

I think SP perfectly understands how awful is the idea of hiding the discounts.
Now you can’t plan anything, no one even knows if final discount is there. There is no incentive to grind and interfere with real life and sleeping schedule to collect coins each 4 hours if there is no guarantee that these coins will be enough to get desired monster.
Especially after so many people wasted their coins to be just a few nodes short from getting soul hugger thanks to increased path cost and deceiving nodes cost.

I mean, they never officially released discount times in the past (Fox said they did try it once, though). That was always leaked information. I always thought that SP was relying on Taringa for the discount times so they could change it if they ever decided it was “necessary.” Then they would be able to claim, “We never officially released discounts so don’t get mad at us.” But Fox made it sound like released discount times tested poorly for SP. I’m having a hard time figuring out why that would be.
To be honest if they are really serious about hidden discounts beyond Soul Hugger being a good thing, I can’t see why they would put a 20% at the last hour of the maze. That thought scares me since I am really going to need a discount in the last hour. 10% would be cutting it close. No discount would be heart wrenching after spending so many coins on Soul Hugger. I have a good shot at the last page in the limited-time book and I don’t even want to think about my decision to get Soul Hugger should I miss out on Wangzhou.

For example the first Molem path, you need to get Qin's key too, which is 1420

I feel many people were unfairly baited into playing the recent 20% discount on the maze (myself included). The announcement of a better discount (30%) should have been made earlier to give players a better overview of what to expect, and the chance to prepare properly. As already said by others, it's a very long event, and some players spend A LOT of time making sure to collect optimally (myself, again, included). To hear of a 30% discount a couple hours after a 20% discount, after having agonized over whether to play the 20% discount at all, is a real let-down. I feel cheated by the loss of around 1750 coins (opportunity cost of spending ALL my coins on the 20% discount if in fact there is a 30% discount coming). I think that the reward should be worth the effort, and that in this case a random and seemingly flippant roll of the dice about whether and when to announce important discounts ruins the entire thing.

I think SP is toying with people on the discounts and they are doing it on purpose. They clearly want people to think that any discount could happen at any time. I find that mindset strange since it isolates large portions of their player base. I will say that I am personally not bothered by this 30% announcement despite spending all my coins on 20%.

You didn’t lose anything Glistas. SP could have not done the 30% and nothing would have changed for you. The most anyone reasonably expected was a 20%. You losing 500 orbs and 60 cells is because you didn’t collect enough... simple as that. Also, to be clear, I’m not saying it’s your fault. I know it’s hard and even impossible for a lot of people to get enough coins for monsters they want. SP doesn’t consider real life enough imo.
