There have been two types of progressive islands. One is normal one and the other is Tale island. The tale one requires you to collect 5 items (5 times) in order to participate.

For the normal ones we’ve been able to get the monster for just under 100 gems recently (I got Silverleaf for 94 gems). For the tale monster I was able to get it for 123 gems. This is with perfect collections.

But if you’re new, try and have 50% more gems

On 50 cells(r0), use 174 gems after 3 collections, not including the first one.
On 60 cells, use 77 gems after 3 collections, not including the first one.
On 60 cells(r1), use 89 gems after 2 collections, not including the first one.
Total gem cost: 581 gems.
Total time: 3 days and 16 hours.

For last few tale monsters, this was the guide for 100 cells. Credit Dorijanko

Quest 50 cells(r0):
On 20 cells, use 32 gems after 2 collections, not including the first one.
On 30 cells, use 45 gems after 4 collections, not including the first one.
On 50 cells(r0), use 70 gems after 5 collections, not including the first one.
Total gem cost: 147 gems.
Total collections(not including the first one on each node): 11.

I was able to get Vandeken for around 120 gems. Got a few extra collections in and claimed during the last hour.

Sorry, I’m not sure if I understand the question.

Tale progressives require users to collect 5 items of 5 tokens for around 10 days leading up to the actually progressive. This is happening right now.

When the progressive starts, you submit each token and the island will unlock the first node (20 cell node). The progressive lasts 4 days so you follow the guide for spending gems for the rank that you want.

Got it. Yeah I think the lowest is around 120 gems. Unfortunately we can’t trade Mythic cells so at the moment that’s around the absolute minimum.

We’ll see if these monsters become available again in a few months and we can adjust the guidance, but for now you’ll have to fork up the gems to get the progressive monster.

@wintry warren the first collection means immediately after the event starts,and immediately after you skip every node,you can collect 6 goldbags,4 drumsticks,1 egg/heart without having to wait at all.After that you have to wait for 8 hours till you can collect 6 goldbags,4 drumsticks,1 egg/heart which is called the 8 hour pool.But the trouble is,you will have a hard time collecting them 6,4,1.you'll just have to logout and log in over and over until you get what you're supposed to.

Until then, the best reference is data from past Tale islands, which should give a good ballpark number. FYI, the past few Tale island costs were identical.

For lower level players, I think both are really good. However, if you have zero cells of them, then to get 100 cells will cost you gems. I paid 78 gems for 150 stones in the past

@novel wraith the farthest you can get without spending gems in the magic stones progressive is the end of the 45 stones node.

If you want to get the 50 stones node also, the strategy calls for skipping each of the earlier nodes with gems once the skip cost goes down to 10-20 gems or so.

Tale progressives haven’t required a skip within the first 16hrs so I suggest doing your normal collections and watch out for Dorijanko’s calculations sometime tomorrow.

Yep, the last few 1st skip is at 16hrs. I usually do the 1st skip at 12hrs so can sleep (12hrs is at midnight for me, don't want to do a 4am collection), 1st node more expensive, but overall cost very similar.

@lost basalt there is no guide for Rara yet. Dorijanko generously puts out a guide for progressives after a few hours of a new progressive starting.

Maze is different. The amount of food matters. For mazes I find that if I feed any monster level 30 or higher by 2 levels, wait then feed one more time, that gives me 30 coins

Ah, for progressives, you can get one food drumstick every 2 hrs. 4 drumsticks is the max pool so if you collect every 8 hrs you're good. If you wait until the 10th hour, you're essentially losing a drumstick

Collect now, you should be ok. You'd only lose item if you were late with collection. @lone gyro

You lose items if pool is full, i.e. 8hrs passed, and game tries to add another item. If you did a collection then, and left 1 item in the gold pool, then it's still there but only 5 more can be added. Empty all now and you're back on track.

I'm gmt+1, so guide gives first skip due 4am. You can adjust this to do it 4hrs earlier, costing more that node, but no need to wake up; the last node then cheaper so not much difference in total.

@split smelt Thank you for creating the guide for the shortened equipment challenge. I did not want to do any fancy calculations at 4 in the morning for this shortened progressive. I simply reduced one collection from the silver, gold and diamond relic nodes to determine the approximate time I should spend on those nodes. As it turns out my strategy is spot on since it aligns with what you posted. Thank you again.

@split smelt, for what it’s worth, I ended up paying 221 for the gold (I think I was off by 1 collect gold though), and 204 for the Diamond. Not sure why the Diamond was so far off, as I started it with 1 day 12+ hours on the clock still.
Just making sure, does that calculation take into affect that the Feed task is capped at 3 and refills every 2h 40min, vs the “normal” cap of 4 and refill at the 2 hour mark?
