You can collect at any time for what's available in your pools; no point waiting for a full collection if it falls at an inconvenient time. Collect early what's available. Make a note of when the node started, then you can work out how many items are available at any point; once full (that's the 6 gold/4food/1hatch and breed) no more items can be added to that pool, which is what you need to avoid. The only time you need to collect is when you are scheduled to change node.

At 7hrs, you'd get 5 gold, 3 food. But means your pools are empty. Gold would be full again, i.e 6 to collect, after 7hr50minutes (in 1hr you'd get +1, then +1 every 1hr 20 minutes after that). Food would be full after 7hrs.

4hr collects are easier to remember for shifting time as gold and food added at same time to pool. I use to write a list, with the expected number of gold, food, breed available at any point during the day. I could log in, make sure I get all available.

first you calculate the amount of gems it costs to just buy all the items manually(the gem costs have a regular increase, for example i think breeding is 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 etc.)
each node has a "discount value", a number between 0 and 1. Multiply that gem cost by the discount value and round the result up(23->23, 23.1->24). Now the only thing left to do is to find the discount value. The discount value is usually an integer number of % so what the program does is it just checks all possible % and sees which one matches with the initial cost of the node.

what i used to do is just try all possible combinations, but since the space raiders island(the one with lumoona for example) there have just been way too many possibilities to check them all
so what I do instead is for each A and B i calculate the minimum number of gems for doing the first A nodes with B hours left; if you have already solved all of the "smaller" versions of the problem it's easy to solve the original(let's call f(A, B) the solution for first A nodes with B hours left. If A=0 then f(A, B)=0. If B<0 then f(A, B)=infinity(i obviously can't use actual infinity so I just use a big number like 100000). Else, there are some options for the Ath node: after X hours spend Y gems. So then f(A, B) is the smallest possible f(A-1, B-X)+Y.)

when you have the solution for all A and B it's not too hard to reconstruct the actual method used

On 65 cells(r0), use 10 gems after 8 collections, not including the first one.
Total gem cost: 89 gems.
Total time: 3 days and 16 hours.

i noticed that the 20 cells and 65 cells node weren't changed either so it's actually probably exactly the same in which case you can just follow what I posted above if you're going for r0 and collecting every 4 hours

it's currently too late(past midnight) for me to not be too lazy to get out my computer to do some changing between 1, 4 and 8 and between 0, 4 and 8, a few(more like 30) clicks(i think 3-4 per file), open pastebin 8 times, copy-paste 8 times, copy-paste the previous guide, change the name, change the links and click post
so I'll probably do it tomorrow
