Do the gems spent on the items reset when you reach a new quest? For instance, if I spend gems on food item til it costs 2 or 3 gems, will it reset to 1 gem cost on the next quest?

@trim mist I found that buying the items isn’t worth it it if it is one of the last few you need. But I also noticed that it can be cost effective if you are buying the quest with lots of items still left. For instance, in the guide above, to get to Stake it says to buy second quest for 41 gems. But if you take the first 2 items for 1 gem each, you can lower the cost to 31 (33 gems total).

I’m not going to be going for Stake, but I spent the 2 gems because I was curious and new to the game.

@strong sphinx I just tested that and it doesn't work. 20 scaraborg cells costed 129 gems, I spent 13 gems on buying items and then it costed 119 gems

The cost for skipping right away is always (cost for buying items individually)*(some discount), rounded up

#

So buying individual items won't do you any good

#

Just tested when the cost was 41 gems; bought the 2 items for 1 gems each and that lowered the cost to... 40 gems!

Makes sense. Doesn't matter when you buy the 1 gem items, you're only taking 1 gem's worth of value away. Doing the tasks decreases the value because it takes from the other, expensive, end

gold has the quickest spawn time and I think if you collect after x time the remaining time will be for next reward but im not sure

all progressive starts with a monster thats only nice for library or something and this epic is a nice monster for lower levels to have, the only progressive I had trouble with was the one before this because of dragonian beast was the first monster, you could argue on Rexx slowing things down but thats is it in my opnion

you get 1 gold item every 1 hour and 20 minutes - the max amount you can have "stored" without collecting it is 6

you get 1 food item every 2 hours - the max amount you can have "stored" without collecting it is 4

i had the same problem with firesaur +firesaur and firesaur +treezard. Didn't get a heart item for 2 days even after 100+ tries (couple of islands ago). I do firesaur + rockilla now and it works. Sometimes needs 2-3 tries.

you can get the item every 8 hours (4 hours with boost event). after you successfully got it, the waiting time resets. It's not fixed times, it is based on when you collected last.

#

And every node works independently. Like when you need to breed a monster for 10 cells. You collect the heart item and finish it. You don't have to wait 8 (4 respectively) for the new node, you can get the next heart item right away.

I don't have anything to add to what has been said. What I do is, try Fire Legendary + Firesaur a couple of times, if that doesn't work, restart the game and try that combination again... and if that fails.... well it hasn't failed yet, but then I would do Pandaken + Treezard or Pegasus + Firesaur. And finally, double check I did my maths right and enough time has passed (8 or 4 hours on boost)

So I need to put my two cents in on this island. Perfect collections for a subpar monster costing 197 gems is seemingly a high waste of man power going into creating and launching this event. Its things like these that shake people's opinion of the company, what else is this for other than trying to snipe newer players or misinformed teams of their gems when there is way better options? The hatching and breeding part of this prog island is messed up. I have now hatched 6 eggs since the event started and none gave me credit. So I spent gems to get passed the rare, now it's not giving me any points for breeding. SP is whack and I'm not opening that map again or spending any more gems on it.

I can understand the frustration DrGreybush, but 6 attempts isn’t a lot. Not when you consider that it only takes 15 seconds to hatch an egg. Last progressive it took me 20-30 breeds/hatches to get that first egg. I don’t know what the issue was, but once I got that first egg, all breeds/hatches generated an item on the first or second attempt. Like Dorijanko said, make sure you are hatching eggs from breeds (short breeds are highly preferable for obvious reasons). I’ve never gotten an item from a bought egg.

It shouldn't be "you have to breed this super specific mon every 8 hours" if it says Breed then any breeding should work, if it says Hatch then any hatching should work. Otherwise they need to tell us what we need to do. They need to say "use your eggs from breeding" or something. I'm only on node 2, don't think I'll even get passed this one since I can see above that node 3 has a bunch of breeding and hatching.

It’s not that certain recipes work. You aren’t guaranteed an item from every breed. That’s why people keep suggesting firesaur+firesaur. That combo only takes 15 seconds. If you get stuck, reloading the game helps and even doing a different breed seems to help. I won’t say it isn’t frustrating. People have legitimate problems with this. But those are the tips I can give that have helped me in the past.

Also, I don’t know if anyone else experienced this, but I’ve noticed that the first collection from any quest seems to have it’s own non-refillable pool. I waited 10 hours before I got my breed items for the second quest and got 2 hearts. I wonder if that is how it is supposed to work.

in my opinion.....
firesaur and greensaur is a great combination. As an result you will get an C, UC or R Monster. all of them takes until 30sec, breeding, hatching, rank and so on. So best basis for all events (also race). On the second breeding possibility I try breedable legendäres.
It is correct, it takes me sometimes 10-20 times until it is counted for progressiv island, but I have good experiences with this combination. Sometimes it helps when the app is completely closed on iOS or Cache removed on Android. Sometimes this helps.
During the 8h colldown I also breed and hatch this combination and sell the monster at the end. I have the feeling that this helps when cooldown is passed. But I do this only, when I go only, because I want. No need to do that.

why does it takes sometime 10-20 tries until it is counted?
There is not only a cooldown time there is also a percentage chance that it is counted. so no guarantee that it is counted immediately 😉

At the end everybody have to make his own experiences. For some player this works, for other not. Try and decide what would be or is the best solution for you. 😊

It'll most likely be similar to imigbo, where it's not a single reward, but cells split up over multiple sections.

I honestly hope it’s like Tijen’s event, where it’s possible to get F2P but you’d have to completely mess up your sleep schedule for a high reward. Got like 4 hours of sleep but forgot to actually attempt to get her because I was so exhausted

Guys my idea is for progressive island not to be every 8 hrs for the pool it should be 4 or 6 which would be better because people have to stay up or not like now I have to stay up till 2:00 and it is 23:21 because of cain event and the pool if it was 6 I would only have to wait 38 minutes please add that and make it 4 or 6 hrs please put this in account for next island

It’s not possible to do them all without heavy gem spending, the hatchery won’t support it. I don’t understand the logic behind 3 breeding events at the same time. We’ve got 17 epics to breed, 5 Cain monsters to breed, and then on top of that breedy days.

In case anyone might wonder if it’s possible, I got Cain monster for a total of 17 gems. I used 14 to speed up near the end of the first node to adjust the collection times to suit my schedule, then I did another slight readjust of 3 gems at the end off the second node. I won’t get thru node 4, but at least I got cain and I didn’t have to wake up at 3am to do it. I probably could have got it done for even cheaper, but I did not calculate collection times at the end of node 1, probably should have but still, 17 gems is a steal.
