maybe this isn't a bug but one of the goddess curses. Check the goddess statue to see if the curse is active that ages all your animals. If it is, it should be gone the next week.

@dense radish oh my goodness, thank you so much i was going crazy with what could have happend but i did not read the fine print - you are correct, it was a curse on the goddess statue!
