just played a game with P90 and the bullets were very buggy and delayed, they looked like they were firing in a burst pattern even when i wasnt releasing the shoot button @frail geyser
this was also happening to a friend of mine in a lobby 30 mins ago
note that cache had been cleared in advance, ping and FPS were normal
the smg and ak arent that good

I had a very choppy game play today not sure why my ping and FPS were great it was when I was jumping and moving my mouse it got really choppy
there are no items i.e. nades and ammo spawning in a map i created

Hah... that dumb thing has always given me animation problems. I don't know why; it's not technically any different than any of the other guns with clip/ammo pieces.

Since the update, it's really happening often that I throw a grenade and it flies in all sorts of directions other than where I have aimed to. I assume this is related to latency, but even when I am standing still, grenades still occasionally fly off the wrong way.
Sometimes this even results in killing myself 😒

sometimes nades go behind and/or the left and right

Major bug: I was in the menu, typing in chat, and all the sudden I spawned in. Thats not a big deal, but the issue is that I was still in the menu. This glitch had happened before, but this was the only time in which i saw my egg. It showed me as a black egg, and I got shot and killed. I was pretty laggy, so that may have something to do with it.
@frail geyser P90 laggy bullets thing is still happening on a regular basis
the bullets sometimes dont seem to be shooting yet still do damage, or simulate shooting while on a low fps (even when my fps is normal)
sometimes, the bullets seem to fire at a slower rate than normal at random moments
note that this glitch (as stated above) simulates having low fps while trying to shoot, except my fps has been normal and low ping the entire time
it's not easy to describe, but a short summary of the glitch would be that the P90 bullets sometimes start shooting at a slower rate than normal and appear laggy
i got many kills when i was reloading with the P90 bc of glitch and bc there were low

there is a player on this server with nickname gllllllitch who is using a pistol with the bullets coming out as a continous stream
they seem at least as quick as the p90 bullets

I got a 60 streak signed in, and now I refreshed the page and it's like the whole thing never happened. Same streak, kills and deaths as before i entered the map.

This might be a bug so I wanted to share this here also: Good evening. I just recently started playing and noticed an issue while playing through the latest version of Chrome. No matter the screen size, there is this slight studder on my screen that I can't get to go away. I've watched my stream and its liquid but think it's something to do with my nvidia card. I've followed all the FAQ's for Chrome but haven't been able to shake it. I'm connected to US West, with about 32ms and 165fps a second. I play at 1440p. I've run through all the ideas I could think of. Disabled G-SYNC, played only on 1 monitor but I can get the gameplay fluid like water on my display. Again, on my stream, it smooth, but my display, glitchy. Any advice? This is either full screen or windowed mode. I have a 1GB connection and wired.
Does that happen in other games? If not, that’s very strange and if you’re 100% it only happens in shellshockers then ignore this: if it’s showing properly on your stream, it is indeed your monitor, or your feed to your monitor, that is the problem. Check that the cable (HDMI, VGA, DP) is secure, and in working order. What is the refresh rate of your monitor? If it’s below your FPS count, that could cause screen tearing. Also: FPS stands for ‘frames per second’ so saying FPS a second is redundant
@ripe hinge Only for Shell Shockers. DP. 165Hz. Changed to 60Hz and still the same issue. Tried another monitor; still same issue. FPS normally doesn't drop under 160fps. It not screen tearing, its a weird (pause) lag like hesitation.
Hmm and you said it does appear fine on your streams? It could be your graphics card’s video output that is lagging, however it’s strange if it’s not happening in other programs

yep, it's a weird bug since update 0.20.2
to counter it, you have to adapt your aim
Also for shells shockers I throw a grenade it says I used that grenade but nothing happens
No grenade comes out
It's latency. It's always been like that. You pull the trigger, client asks server to shoot, server shoots, server tells client that a bullet appeared. Throw a few tens of milliseconds into the mix and you have yourself a delay. The only thing that's different is that it was delaying the display of the bullets to minimize that apparent effect.
There are only two ways to deal with it. One, tell everyone to lead their target a bit (as it is right now). Two, have the bullet appear immediately on the client side, but have the server roll back in time to determine if it actually hits anyone. That will lead to you being in situations where you're getting shot well after you've apparently taken cover, depending on your ping and the ping of the shooter.
#2 is something I'll be experimenting with shortly, but either way, there's going to be a few milliseconds of suck in there.
there are some really funny ways that some games deal with that issue, i don't remember what game it was, but i remember one game where they used the second option, and if you were shot, but it was registered after you are behind a wall, the game had a special animation for it, the character trips and died

when you first join a map, you cannot type. you have to spawn in and press enter like 5 times in order to chat. as PAN said, when you die you have to again press enter like 5 times to chat.

but I now I know that I wasn't being blind/drunk when I saw it, it was really the pistol and it was really a fire rate faster than the P90. What I don't know is if it is actually doing damage or if it's only visual

the funniest one was i once saw the RPG visual on the AK, so the rockets were being fired like crazy
now I mention it, I remember being shot by one of those once 😄 that was a strange experience, I freaked out because of all the rocket blasts but then it turned out I hardly had any damage 😄

What is going on with the hit reg on crackshot
I feel that the bullet shown does not accurately depict where the crackshot bullet really is
There is a delay on the crackshot, you can see it right before you kill someone. The bullet goes through them but then there is a delay of a half sec before it actually kills them
I hope you guys fix it soon as it is ruining crackshot for me

The bullet will sometimes just go through them without doing damage
and the new mechanic of the egg putting out some yolk when it takes a hit is annoying
As you can't see how damaged they are for a bit
the delay is a result of the last update which has latency compensation
if there is a delay between hitting them and when you see them dying, that's because of your ping
so it's a benefit to you because you can now hit what you aim at

i kinda like the slight delay in their death, it kinda gives your shots a bit more oomph, i don't know how to explain it, but it feels more satifying getting a one shot kill that way
Before, you wouldn't see your bullets until the server confirmed the shot, which meant you had to actually lead your target according to your ping. Now you just have to lead them according to the projectile velocity, and it should be the same for everyone.
Are hacks real here? A player didn't receive ANY damage when I shot them from behind point-blank multiple times with shotgun (player was standing still)
that glitch isn't really new, its been around for a while, but it is fairly uncommon

The hit boxes match just fine. What doesn't match is the continuously-variable ping that creates little inconsistencies in where you are, and where they are.
And where your bullets are, and where everything is relative to everything else. The calculations all happen on the server, but what you see is never going to be a pixel-perfect representation of what the server sees.

I know you get all this complaining about updates and whatnot
But I, and a group of others, genuinely think that there needs to be some improvements with the servers in regards to the hitboxes
Apologies Slobodan, the new update is a whopper. But holy heck is it annoying when you shoot the same egg dead on centre 3 times and you barely knock off 20 HP
It's happened to me numerous times, with the egg being afk to top it off
That's when I realized it's not the client, but the server that mismanages the hitboxes
the graphics and the hitboxes just dont feel like they match
That's because the server didn't have your bullet, your character, or their character in the same spot that you saw them, because of variations in latency
And because it's the internet, and because of the way browsers enforce protocols, those variations can be rather big
You push W.. you start to move. 50ms later, the server starts moving you. That's all fine and dandy, except when you let go, maybe that info doesn't arrive at the server for 100ms. So now, though you've been holding the button down for, say, 1000ms, the server thinks you held it down for 1050ms. Now we have a synchronization problem, and if you fired during that delay, there's no way to compensate for it, because you aren't where the server thinks you are.
that makes sense depending on latency where everything is on the client is different from where everything is on the server and the server is the real state. what seemed to happen before was the latency affected the bullet mostly and now i can see the bullet spawn almost instantly but players will die (see death client side) AFTER being hit (seeing a hit client side) depending on latency

Now when you pull the trigger, and the server gets the notification 100ms later, it fires the bullet, but when it checks for hits, it rolls your target back in time 100ms so it knows exactly where it thought your target was the moment you pulled the trigger on your end
so before it rolled the bullet back instead of the target

So that is why there is that delayed death is it not Slobodan?

if you see splash and get no dmg you are probably not actually hitting center, after adjusting lead for 0ms ive been hitting shots pretty consistently.
if you see a bullet go through someone without splash, which i have many times, my guess is that means u hit a ping spike and you are behind the server state.
once u catch up, i think if the enemy egg hadnt moved since the ping spike u get the dmg; if they were moved since the ping spike, u probably just didnt see them move on your side because lag.
you cant rly do anything about this and i havent seen any evidence for something wrong with the latency compensation that couldnt be explained by a ping spike. (maybe this could be tested with the client changing the bullet color when its confirmed by server and see if its still going through shells)
with the old hit detection if u had a ping spike or high latency ur bullets would just spawn very late and you would only see them appear when the server said they were there.
now you see them appear immediately and tells the server the bullet position and time when u fire so now leading bullets is constant no matter ur latency up to 500ms
I regret to say this, but to me the grenade glitch has not improved at all
Grenades are still delayed; they don't throw the instant you let go.
Server still has to confirm it before you see it, so if you throw it while rotating, it's going to be "off" from your perspective

Hmm.. Well, Safari has usually been pretty solid, though I haven't checked on it recently.
But Edge does have terrible keyboard support. It's a known bug that it flat-out misses key-up events on a regular basis.

this might be related to the latency compensation, when i jumpshot with the crackshot pretty sure theres a little window of time where, if u shoot and jump at the same time, the graphic bullet has the bloom of the crosshair before jumping and the bullet on the server has the bloom after jumping

seems like the bullet in the graphic and the one the server sees from it being recorded by the client should be in the same place there right slobodan? is this just client side lag thats causing the mistmatch or ?
guessing the steps are something like user shoots, client generates bloom/shot trajectory, displays graphic for bullet and sends shot trajectory to server with a timestamp, server gets shot and sends it to everyone else so they can see it. but that doesnt explain the mismatch

this is an issue. doubt its cause by ping spikes. bullet displayed in graphic doesnt match bullet reported to server. probably affects moving and shooting on all weapons.

It's very likely a sync issue where the jump gets registered before the shot does (on the server side). At least, that's my theory. I'll get that fixed.
ok, awesome! im curious, i thought shot trajectory was generated client side because it displays the shot immediately and before server confirmation now with latency compenstation. if shot trajectory is generated on server how is bullet displayed before server confirmation or if it is generated client side why wouldnt it match what u see? unless bloom is deterministic i dont get why the server is changing the shot while the client is displaying the shot immediately.
It's generated on both ends. The server gets the final say, but the client's simulation should be very close in most cases.
However, the way jump commands get sent is different than how fire commands get sent, so that stuff can get ever so slightly out of whack by a few frames.
But all I should have to do is make sure the jump commands get sent in the same manner, and it should be ok
it might not be just jumps but that is all i tested in this case. is there a reason to not make the shot entirely generated on the client and sent to the server besides someone being able to make a client with perfect bloom?

Movement input is also communicated in the same manner that shooting is, so it should be far more consistent.
There's just a disconnect with the jumping commands right now, but I'll be combining those.

That's something else I plan to take another look at. Might need some sort of extra confirmation/negotiation between server and client before you actually start climbing it, but that makes it difficult if you jump onto a ladder.... I dunno; I'll think of something.

I had the ammo collection bug with the RPegg that was reported earlier. I think it occurs when you hit escape during reloading. After that, you can only pick up ammo up to the quantity you have when you respawn
I might be wrong about the exact quantity but in any case, my ammo capacity was reduced after this

first of all, RPEGG doesn't go through walls, the blast effect does just like with nades, second of all, with our rapid regen rate, if a sniper (bolt action or semi) hits the edges, it effectively does zero damage, and third of all, as cluck said, do not ping all the very good wizards, especially since I'm 99% sure slobodan is still shell's only developer
there, all problems have been fixed
but at least tell me that you tried jumping and/or standing on your head, before pinging the wizards

This has happened a lot so I don’t think it’s hacking
I shoot someone, the egg flecks appear but very small and they take no damage
They can harm me and my teammates can harm them
Grenades can harm them but quite inefficient and unlikely to nadekill in close quarters
I’ve died quite a few time because of this and in the end I have to resplendent

- (probably due to the fact that it is always dead center when scoping) the chameleon eyes sniper rifle is pinpoint accurate 100%of the time, basically the cross-hair is just there for decoration.
How strong would it be? Cause that's pretty OP tbh
- if you do not have an alt sidearm when you go oni, you can't switch to the oni tendrils rocket launcher. (you should be safe as long as you have one, it doesn't have to be held)
also classn, it does 100 dmg meaning if you have 0 upgrade chips, it oneshots you

The rpegg is way too buggy; it will constantly either go through walls, show explosion but the rocket is still flying, or the rpegg will just not explode even if the reticle is green and no other eggs are in the way
The largest problem is the rpegg just not exploding
I'm pretty sure my kill count dropped by 300-400 and my kdr by 0.06/0.07
All I did was log out and in
the eggs I got from those kills are still there
The RPEGG won't actually explode until a certain distance has been met, like a torpedo from a sub

someone changed the invisible stamp to the firework stamp
That was just an image bug.. it wasn't getting updated. Not sure what was causing your issue unless the extra tab had a different version loaded and was causing some weird state issues
Hey I shot a egg in the middle and it didn’t do any damage
The RPG bullet in Shellshocker disappears more often when you shoot directly at the egg
I shot with crack shot nothing happens, at first I thought was hacking but u can still kill with side weapons and grenades and this applies to all guns

You probably got dumped into low-res mode to preserve framerate. You can un-check Auto Detail in the settings menu and turn high res back on if that's the case.
