Based on smoke plumes and the chronological setting of the game I always assumed all the guns are using smokeless powder, a lot of the cartridges such as 45-70 and 44-40 are black powder cartridges but can easily be loaded with smokeless

It uses black powder and not smokeless and I can confirm the issues of black. Yes it is powerful but it does create quite a cloud around you and pieces (shrapnel?) of the powder will dig into your skin and can even get in your eyes stopping you from firing

@sharp bay so the lore takes place outside of the game in a way. Like the timeline is much wider. And the in game stuff is probably either a mix of timelines or just earlier in the universe
So I’m guessing we can get legendary skins for people in the lore that may be dead since it’ll just help elaborate on their history
I personally want to see the twins become playable Hunters. I know they aren’t dead but we have access to all their weapons basically and they’re badasses.

the presence of william durant as a playable charecter in hunt actually gives us a rough timeline of when we are hunting,
as the devs try to keep gameplay and lore as close as possible, since we see durant a hunter that means the twins are still forging with the blacksmith... i.e have not become hunters yet.
as for william durant still able to join a hunt, he would have not to have been killed by the twins

During today's session with @haughty valley i got this weird graphical bug (screenshot of outside area) Weird shadows on the screen. Invisible fire, pings and dark sight boost. I assumed its a bug but when u look at the other screenshots (one mine one made by Frost) there are some weird images. Am I being dumb or is there something to it?

Wanna point out there’s several hints and gun descriptions that suggest Huff was apparently pretty good at putting the dead back in the ground with his dolch. Regarding the rifle gifted to his wife, I believe it says Finch was the one who tried to gift it to her, which might imply it was actually Huff’s winnie that was recovered after he died. It could just be that he commissioned it and Finch was the delivery boi.

wellsprings are what make this event special compared to the rest, instead of causing general havoc this sculpter appears to be coordinating his attacks and creating monsters both for utility (boss boys, specials) and from leftover scraps, (grunts I.E people with their "souls" farmed) those souls are what is used to create the wellsprings and the reason the cataclysms that occur affect all who are afflicted (assumably their souls are connected to the other world I.E. hunters being able to see wellspring energy) and why hunters can connect themselves to the wellspring and use it's energy to heal

That'd make no sense for you to give up on lore because of that. There is no consistent narrative when playing. It's not like playing as them would be cannon

This Louvent is one of many supernatural events in Huntverse. Basically there is a supernatural being we call the sculptor that causes all the stuff we see in game. He is from some other dimension, and clues and rifts are unstable portals to that world. He is restricted to an area of influence, and hunters have to undergo a initiation ritual to get dark sight and resist being influenced by the sculptor

Organisations like the AHA puts bounties on the bosses and they pay anyone who brings them a part of the boss that remains after banishment that holds great power

@rustic jackal So if you want to read more on Lynch, you can check mainly in the book of weapons. There are a ton of articles on her and Bad As They Seem gives a good insight into who she is. She has connections to Huff who was the leader of the AHA (American Hunter Association) before he was assasinated and was the creator of things like the Hive Bomb and the vitality shots. She has more supernatural knowledge on what is going on with the Bayou rn and the corruption there. Although she daoesnt say much about it. She has her own motives for killing the Sculptor that is behind everything we just don't know what her ties to it is. In the articles she can regenerate her skin, she can catch demons to turn them into medicine for the AHA, and she might have come from the other side of the rifts. However, we need to sort through what is embelished and what is the truth.... and that is where we lie until we get more information

@azure vessel Since people are keeping this incident on the downlow, there are a couple ways. Either they get invitations like in the Louvent of the train tickets and some early Huff letters we saw, they are cray and Huff tries to use them at the Asylum (like the 14 that are later killed in the massacre at Jackson Asylum), or they are just picked up by other hunters and taught the ways of being a Hunter (like you see with the guy with the romero or some others in the book of weapons)
@feral goblet Also redshirt is a dude who probably just is looking for the thrill of things and playing drinking bets. Whether he wears the target out of confidence or stupidity is another matter. But at the end of the day, the man is hunting and flexing on everyone else

So I did a little research and I think Phoebe Brewer maybe based on Phoebe Couzins. Who was one of the first female US Marshalls. Though she came from Missouri not Louisiana.
Female peace officers were more common in the western states which were more egalitarian in respect to women’s rights.
