So I was thinking about that. When we close the last rift, it DOES close. There’s nothing particularly special, nor is there a wild projection of power that continually flows out of it. I COULD be reading too much into it, but maybe when that last rift is closed, we draw out the remainder of the WS before it closes and attach it to our hunter. After that, it’s brought into our world and attached to the hunter that drew it out in the closing ritual or the hunter that kills him. It’s bound to the rift in some manner, but since it closes like the others, maybe it’s actually been extracted.
We never really see the WS physically, outside of the victory animation that seems to come from within the hunter.
As of right now, I’m thinking the process looks something like this.
-Close 3 rifts to concentrate the WS’s power to one rift.
-Extract the WS and close the last rift. This also prevents anything else from sneaking through the rift, so it makes sense to close it after you have the WS.
-Though you carry the WS, you must absorb it over time.
-Salvation.

The reason it doesn’t vanish entirely when the WS carrier dies could be because the rift is closed and it might need a host to exist in our dimension. Maybe the reason it jumps from hunter to hunter is the closing ritual contains it to that area, which is why you must remain in the area and why it doesn’t just disappear when you die.

Well the trait itself implies that rifts can have some kind of interaction and impact on hunters outside of the cost of being able to close them. It may be possible the nature of the WS allows a hunter to act as its conduit naturally.

Let me explain what I did.
I created a full Voynich alphabet on the huntshowdown.com website. I just used their Voynich class.

After that I snipped the 9 textparts from the Devil in the Churchyard video. I roughly translated the first 2 and ran those lines
through google.
They matched with Revelation 12:12 in Haitian Creole. I copied the whole 12:12 onto the website, used the Voynich class again and matched them with the remaining 7 video textsnippets. They all fit perfectly.

Anyways, so also if the moths became mutated in some way with flies of the swamp, there are flies that lay eggs in a human. The moths would be a very easy of spreading the plague. It could have also been mutates that the larva went through the bloodstream and landed in the stomach. Then they could feed on the inside for sustenance and grow into cacoons in a rapid rate.
Also one of the symptoms of the moth biting someone is a rash. It could explain why hunters have rash's here and there but are not affected by the sickness

Im with arpy on this one. Moths do seem to have a significant role in this event. However many have called the hives insects bees but if you get close ups of the hive insects they look like they have defined wings like moths. (I'm the one who collects them for hive bombs) but we are also certain that it is moths that have burrowed into the flesh of Dr reeds victims. "The infection is potent. Odd. I began an autopsy yet the corpse—but two hours dead—contained only moths. Living moths and no organs." -reed himself.
That text proves that moths burrow into organs and begin to make a hospitible environment for themselves within human hosts. Further insisting that hives COULD be moths. And it's a good theory arps. But my only issue is that we don't have any evidence to back up the death theory. I made this theory when qp first came out. That when hunters died during the hunt they were revived in a half dead state to find the wellspring. Once claimed everyone else falls silent as they were supposed to be but the wellspring carrier is free to go seek medical attention at finches
There's no backing. Hence why the question is there. If we vote on it, then we get more details to unlock this theory firther. But for now we are not to pursue it further without evidence
