Premise: I currently "only" have 50+ hours in the game. I also only have ~40ish hours in the first game but it was a game I really enjoyed and I think it still does some stuff better than S2. I played both games mostly in 2 players coop.

This is some random, unorganized feedback from me and a friend after playing through a fair bit of S2:

  • I'd like for the item pickup notification to also display a brief flavor text like it did in S1 to give a general idea/vibe of what the item is about. It added some more personality to the items imo.

  • Some visual readability of threats could be better: for example I've lost count of how many times we've walked right into one of those AoE lightning grenades because we just couldn't parse them. Many times we get frustrated for losing good chunks of health from seemingly random and arbitrary reasons we just couldn't see/understand without checking the combat log afterwards. Maybe we're just bad and suffer from skill issue but I feel like in S1, maybe due to it being 2D only and/or due to its stylistic choices, was generally easier to track what was happening in any given moment compared to current S2.

  • Homing missiles can get pretty silly, especially in coop where they can select other players as targets and suddenly snap very sharply on them. Sometimes they also suffer from the above mentioned readability issue where we aren't even aware there are still missiles tracking us because they were sorta hard to see.

  • I'd like for a way to direct summons to a specifc spot or to focus fire on targets. Many times there are enemies behind the corner and some summons just hang lazily behind me instead of engaging the enemies. Even just the middle mouse ping could work to get them to move their asses.

  • Some items activation doesn't seem to work properly when set to "auto" (orbital lasers and grenades triggering on level change, microwave emitter seemingly never deploying).

  • Armory should show the unique perks of weapons when checking them: would help with assigning tokens.

  • Please bring back some of the silly stuff from S1, like the 420 Sniperdragon + Air Horn, Trasure Roombas and Spider Alarms.

i agree with all of this to some extent
im sure theres alot on shrikes plate right now, and many of these arent urgent (the UI or item auto activations)
but the visual clarity on the electro grenades should be addressed, their effect looks almost exactly the same as the weapon upgrade kit pickup
make it blinding white i dont mind, just as of right now, it blends in a little too well for how much damage it does, especially during a hectic firefight or god forbid the floor happens to also be blue.

for the summons, i dont entirely agree with that, except for putting that on the machine hunter dog. seriously, the dog is useless, if you deploy it at the start of the level, youre going to have to repair its dumbass at the teleporter amidst a horde of enemies. whats the point of having a "permanent" summon if youd just rather have it die instead so you can re-summon it by your side?
this is obviously not as much of an issue for other summons, theyre meant to be disposable.

for whats supposed to be a major part of machine hunters identity, it sure does get recycled alot in exchange for... literally any other vaguely useful item

or even just money, its just a grief, it just barges in and aggroes everything
