#Loop lighting is seizure inducing and unplayable. Game still very incomplete and directionless

Bugs:
Loop is unplayable due to lights flickering at a seizure-inducing rate . Final boss area is the same. Snow area has intermittent flickering as well. FPS drops significantly once you get to loop. There’s a memory leak issue that forces you to restart between runs if you got to loop. Ion weapons seem to break the game audio and make everything else muted. Doors can’t be opened even when you stand near the open.

Subjectives:
-This game has a bad art style that is actively getting worse. It feels like a bunch of generic military models haphazardly thrown around the map. There is absolutely no love or passion put into the map design. As an example, the final boss area is way too RED. It’s ugly as hell. Almost every boss arena is the same. Just a boring square.
-Compare this game to Windfall or Mycopunk and you can see both how dreadful the art is. Those games make you feel immersed in a new world, S2 makes you feel like you’re in a fever dream and actively pushes you away. It’s clunky, ugly, random, and definitely wasn’t made by someone that understands art or game design. It doesn’t feel like you’re in a universe, it feels like you’re in a gmod workshop server. Nothing is consistent and there’s so much visual clutter.
-Many items are just slightly different versions of other items. Many guns are just worse versions of other guns. Many variants are still just pointless and seem to serve no real purpose. Many bosses are the same as each other. Only one boss uses shields, the rest all have hp and lack interesting mechanics.
-Coop was an afterthought. The revive mechanic is uninspired and outdated.
-The biggest problem with S2 is that every run feels exactly the same. You don’t ever need to do anything special or different, just shoot in the direction of enemies and keep moving forward along the ugly linear path laid out for you. Build a strong gun and it doesn’t matter the ammo type.

i do agree with the loop lighting and performance issues but all other "complaints" seems like directed towards a generic AAA title from a major studio or just trolling at worst. i get the preemptive "subjective" notion lol but seriously?!

for me s2 has the best art style for such a cyperpunky isometric violent shooter. level designs are still better than most AAA garbage out there! even for an EA stage game. i sometimes spend minutes at checking details of the android models and how they reflect their class. but s2 is NOT played for ogling at beautiful or well thought out levelk designs but rather it is all about osprey spinning up - and extraction teams picking up whats left of the androids! pure ultra violent chaos perfectly presented by great vfx+ragdoll+physics+sound design accompanied by killer sountracks! S2 does this almost perfectly for such an EA stage game! sure some aspects of the level desgin and boss arenas and bosses themselves can be improved but the priority now should be on more content and perfomance. each run feels the same?! lol maybe you are playing wrong buddy. play with everyclass! i have tons of AAA in library but i find i returning to for a s2 run to find out what a killer machine my android can become or how long it can last!

and yesterday out of desperation to quench my isometric shooter itch, i tried The ascent which was a banger when i played it years ago. thinking i can play that untill U18 build drops but alas, eventhough the ascent had phenomenal art style world design, after playing S2, the combat in the ascent felt pure pathetic! that is the magic of synthetic! i never thought the ascent would be pathetic for me as it was one of the best isometric twinstick shooter. but compared to s2, it IS pathetic! this is how great s2 IS!

and s1 to s2 is one of the if not the best "true to essence" 2D to 3D transition i've ever seen alongside with diablo 2 resurrected. projectiles, particles, explosions, other fusion, laser, electrical effects are so "pixel perfect" to the original's soul. shrike, please send my regards to the art / 3D / visual guys whoever responsible. truly great job guys.
