#AirPods Pro 2 not connecting on iPhone 5s

Hi, when I try pairing my AirPods Pro 2 (the lightning version if that makes any difference) to my iPhone 5s (iOS 12.5.5) then after a few seconds of connecting, Bluetooth turns itself off and on again. This doesn’t happen with any other wireless earbuds I’ve tried so I assume it’s just the phone getting confused what the AirPods are. I don’t care abt noise cancellation settings or anything so is there any way I could just connect them as normal earphones? I’ve tried the PodsGrant tweak but that only works on iOS 13 at a minimum

The H2 chip prevents connecting as just a normal audio device for older Bluetooth versions iirc

#

Same stuff happens when you try to connect Pro 2s to an iPod nano 7

#

Just doesn't work
