@fleet parcel I was able to eventually jb that 4HD box (the one that gave me trouble before the weekend. Now I'm attempting to jb a spare 4k box I have. Again, it was sitting around on 12.4 Chimera since August. I re-installed 1.3.9 Chimera, jb it and afterwards Nito once again crashed upon opening, just like my previous 4hd box.

So, scratching my head, I'm thinking it might be a problem caused by the Chimera version. So I re-installed Chimera 1.3.5 which is what I used originally and voila Nito opened and updated. Problem solved there.

However, I am now trying to run Restore RootFS and once again it just hangs.... does nothing. I can SSH into the box so should I do what we tried before. The only difference is this time since my Nito was able to open and get updated I installed snappy

@tardy inlet which one? I almost bought the 4K and luckily @fleet parcel advised me to buy the 4 (HD) which have the USB port. Since checkra1n is a hardware glitch than the 4 HD will probably be able to be jailbroken also on future TVOS versions.

@autumn talon I believe it is but no way to selectively get the 4k to upgrade to 13.4.5 instead of 13.4.6. I got one 4k upgraded in time but still have a few others on 12.4.

I got a 4hd and 4k on 13.4.5. Couple of things if it helps developers... I found on the 4k, the reboot option in Nito does not seem to trigger. Not a big deal cause it can be done the Apple way. The other thing, I upgraded my Infuse subscription which carries across all my devices. On the 4hd no issues, but on the 4k it would not register the upgrade. Had to reboot out of JB, then the upgrade worked, then re-jailbroke again.

@vapid dock As far as I know, I don't think it's possible like on the 4HD due to a lack of a USB port. It's a shame because 13.4.5 IPSW is still signed. If there was a tool for those currently jailbroken on lower versions to SSH in and copy it over and then install/upgrade.

How are you finding the 4k on 13.4.5 ? I noticed some minor glitches, worst was the remote wouldn't respond to swipes. Had to reboot and re-jailbreak. While testing the one box Apple closed the window so I have a few 4k's on 12.4 still.

I hope there's a solution for the non-usb 4k box. The breakout box and soldering pushes the limit for most. The 4HD will likely not see an update to tvOS 14. This will give Apple a leg up on the jb community as the 4HD eventually becomes obsolete

For some reason it took me a couple of minutes. If you’re using the Remote app on your iPhone or iPad to enter the URL, make sure there are no “invisible” space is remaining in the URL field on your Apple TV

"Couldn't install the profile [0]. Check the URL and try again."
The url above does download a profile on my Mac, so only the appletv is not recognizing it

There’s a bug in the latest versions of #unc0ver that causes the jailbreak to operate with the opposite of the user preference for disabling auto updates. You should turn off that option and re-jailbreak now to prevent your device from auto-updating to 13.5.1.

I normally don’t use it, I use 2 HD boxes, just thought if I could get it up to 13 I’d hook it up and use it on my 4K tv.

I use my  tv’s for my HomeKit stuff so I try to keep em up to date as possible to keep from having compatibility issues. Hopefully the rumored mini homepods come this fall and I can use that instead.

The 4K has never been jailbroke, just got it awhile back and it came on 12.X. I plugged up and made sure all worked as should and put it back in the box, I’ve been using my HD boxes and haven’t even JB them since last update due to using spectrum. Lol.

According to Nito, as long as you have the latest version (3.3.1-2), it is "safe to choose "disable" for your software updates again in nitoTV itself". I think that is the best option now. It's what I always used before to block nags.

a new nitoTV update is out for checkra1n and unc0ver. it isnt necessary for chimera because this issue doesn't cause a bootloop in 12.4. please install it ASAP. then it will be safe to choose "disable" for your software updates again in nitoTV itself. thanks again @sbingner

Looks like on 12.4 unc0ver the Nito setting to "Disable" software updates does not stick (at least on my 4k) . Upon respring it resets back to "Enabled". It use to work on Chimera.

Anyone managed to get their ECID from ATV 4k via ssh yet? Can't run download configurator given version of Mac OS (10.12), and no USB so can't get via iTunes. ATV4 and ATV5 both JB but need to save SHSH2. THANKS!

it's fixed in code but no new release since then yet

internally the option was called "Enable Updates" but the option was "Disable Updates" yes/no and it was just copying the value over... so "Yes Enable Updates" was translated to "Yes Disable Updates"... 😞

lucky you, I have two 4k's left on 12.4. Still ok, but after testing out tvOS 13 on another box the OS is a nice improvement. Not sure if we'll see another 4k jb anytime soon. Crossing fingers though.

@fleet parcel I fixed the code signing issue! I had to run xcode-select --install in Terminal and start the process over again. No idea what this does, but it seemed to fix it.
