I installed Kodi 14.2 Helix onto the user partition and added a local FTP server as a source. When I play my movie (720p, black and white) from the FTP server the playback speed wavers up and down. Sound is OK, but the playback speed is not stable. If I fiddle with hardware acceleration settings the playback seems more fluid, but the sound get out of synch. I also tried with the XBMC Plex add-on which launches properly on Kodi but I get the same wavering playback speed. Did anyone try playing movies using the new jailbroken ATV3 and get it to playback fluently? My OSMC ATV1 with CrystalHD plays the same movie without any issues.
Also on Apple TV 3, did anyone try to mount a USB drive through the micro-USB port? I know the port is supposedly only for diagnostics / maintenance but I would like to test it.. But don't have the cable to try it myself...

@coarse tinsel Kodi forums won't tell you much seeing as this is outdated. The micro USB port is for diagnostics only, so connecting any drives or computers etc won't work for extra storage or file accessibility.
For your Kodi issue, try downgrading Kodi to XBMC and see if that resolves the issue?

Can not install chimera with xcode anymore. I have created xcode project to get developer certificates about 1 month ago. Resigned with ios app signer and could install onto my AppleTV 4 with 12.4 no ptoblems. No when I update certs in the old project resign and try to load with xcode it gives me an error. Unable to install "appname". Any ideas. I have no dev account.

@serene roost No, the party is for stashing, installing nitoTV, setting up HD icons, etc. As for those services, they're incompatible on the Apple TV 3 seeing a its over 7 years old and those extensions don't exist for that infrastructure.
The USB on the device is nothing more than a diagnostics port for restoring the device. It cannot be used to mount drives nor host backups/servers. Just to restore.

Hi. I have an app in the testflight. I can copy ipa and install later with appinst no problem. But if I change assets.car inside the app just repack ipa. Appinst does not install. I understand it needs to be signed, but I thought If you have Appsync installed you do not have to. Tried to sign with ldid modded app and still no go. I restored my ๏ฃฟ TVs a while back, from 12.4 to 13.3, never jailbroke them after that point, today I try and open the spectrum app and I get a message saying itโs not allowed on jailbroke devices for me to restore my device, is there anyways to fix this without having to restore to 13.4? And y would a jailbreak b showing up when Iโve not jailbroke it since I restored it?

The reason I say that is because when I tried using Checkra1n with my surface pro 2/4 it would work fine but as soonest the device was put in DFU mode the connection was lost as Checkra1n doesnโt work with combined controllers - usb pass through works but you loose control over the USBโs.

Oh I thought you might be interested in this method I found to get ReProvision and Chimera on Apple TV 4
Used a signing service to sideload ChimeraTV, jailbroken. Installed ReProvision, Airdropped ChimeraTV using an iPhone and signed on Apple TV using ReProvision.
You then got x2 ChimeraTV apps working but if you want you can remove Profile and keep only ReProvision ChimeraTV
