trying to use the /slidesetting="CameraSource","Blur",size,100,1,100,0.01 command but it doesn't seem to be working. i'm sure it's something simple but i never use this so i'm not too familiar.

it's working with the built in OBS filters so the command may just not work on third party filters? or i have the variable size named wrong but i don't know what else it would be.

okay yeah, i've come to the conclusion the setting name isn't "size" but not sure what else it would be. just toggling the filter on/off for now instead of sliding the setting but if anyone has insight it would be nice for the future.

AH found the /GetSourceFilterInfo command, guess it's Filter.Blur.Size. problem solved!

The question I have is maybe common sense, but I'm new to OBS, let alone Streaming 🙂 I encountered a problem during installation of StreamFX. (see screenshot), a warning which is not clear to me. I read the intallation instructions first, that was a no brainer. I tried to override, Stream FX did not work,even I had a menu, with only version info etc. which was useless. I created a new directory and installed there, Stream FX did not start at all. No Menu... Can anybody give me a hint?

That's warning has 0 issues.

Just means it recognizes there's a folder where it was already wanting to install.

Plus that's how windows functions when you're moving stuff from one folder to another and the main folder already exists there.

Update: Shader Filter plugin - Blend Opacity. I layered the room on top of itself, applied the filter, and added a Colour Correction filter, and with the right settings tweaks - BAM - colored lighting coming from the corner!.... now I just gotta work out blending the desk and myself behind it 😉

Assuming your "camera init" problem is something like a Video Capture source setting issue, firing up OBS without the plugins won't fix that (as it's built into OBS)

I cloned the repository from GitHub, created a "build" folder and moved into it. When I try to set the value for DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE I receive this:

I had to downgrade VLC so I could use the video playback feature of LiveSplit for my speedruns

It works with no other version of VLC, so I can't change it

I've been having this issue with adv scene switchers where I have a keybind for a macro but it doesn't always trigger while not focused on OBS. It seems to be like a 50/50 if it triggers, can this be a permissions issue?

I am a long time OBS user and i recently purchased the stream deck due to its integration capabilities. I launched the Stream Deck app thinking it would essentially be plug and play but it is in fact not. I tested this same thing out with Streamlabs and it worked without issue.

Does anyone have any advice for me about how to connect the OBS software to this physical device? IS there a key or something I need?

Clarification, the Google speech-to-text stuff is part of Chrome itself, and requires a user API key. We can't support it, even if we wanted to, as it doesn't exist in CEF.

It's why tools like Webcaptioner use an external browser for the actual API part.

To use the Audio Monitoring feature, click Edit -> Advanced Audio Properties and set Audio Monitoring to either Monitor Only, or Monitor and Output. Monitor Only will not output that device's audio to your stream/recording.
Audio for that device will be played out of your system default device, unless otherwise specified in Settings -> Audio -> Advanced.

screen mirroring used to work fine with my iphones for both my mac and windows laptop. hadnt used them in awhile until a few days back. mirror works fine with my iphone to mac, windows however isnt detecting my iphone whatsoever. had a quick chat with codeyan yesterday but got cut off due to an errand, i did follow his advice to reinstall an older version of the NDI plug in to match that of my mac but still had the same issue. i had just finished reinstalling my obs and ndi plug in 4.5 still. no changes on the current issue. if anyone can help me out on this or walk me through would be appreciated. I have 4 scenes - let's call them Scene1, Scene2, 3 and 4. I've created a macro to slowly zoom in Scene 1 to Scene2 and a separate macro to switch between scenes 3 and 4.

Macro1: When Scene is Scene1, then Wait 5 sec, Switch to Scene2.
Macro2: When Scene is Scene3, then Wait 5 sec, Switch to Scene 4.
Macro3: When Scene is Scene4, then Wait 5 sec, Switch to Scene 3.

But even though those two macros do not overlap in any way, when I launch either of Scene 3 or 4 they loop (as expected), but even if I manually switch to Scene 1, OBS still changes the scenes back to 3 and 4 and keeps looping.

Because as far as ASS is concerned, the scene was still scene 3 when it checked — then it waited 5 seconds during wihch you changed to scene 1 — and then it switched to scene 4, as it was always meant to

I wish I knew more about how ASS worked. For me, the logic would go more like this:

- wait a number of seconds
- check what scene I'm in
- based on that, switch to a particular scene

Having the check directly before changing would prevent the issue of switching to the wrong scene. I just don't know if ASS can do that check.

However, the "Application Audio Output Capture" option does not appear in my sources menu, even after restarting OBS in admin mode.

thanks for confirming. I am not sure why obs can't see it. Perhaps someone else can help you. You should also ask in the discord server for that plugin, as they may be able to help you better.
A few things that may or may not be the issue:

1. your obs is installed in the E drive? Not sure if that causes the issue as i have never tried doing that.
2. maybe running obs normally (not admin)? tho i doubt that would also be the issue

I am wondering if you have a previous installation of obs in the C drive? maybe your shortcut for running obs is actually runnning the one in the C drive?

Hey there, I have an interesting question. I have my audio set up so everything goes through separate audio devices depending on what it is (chrome audio, VLC audio, game audio and aux audio). I then am monitoring the audio using my headphones. I am able to control each device's volume in the audio mixer but here is where I have a dilemma. I want to output the VLC audio (for example) at a low audio level so it is background music for the stream but I would like to be able to monitor the audio at a louder level because it helps me with my anxiety to have music sort of fill the emptiness. Is this a possibility? I know how to code so I will attempt that next but I wanted to see if anyone had heard anything similar to this. Thank you for your time and have a great night 🙂

My ATEM Mini Pro sometimes gives me a black screen. Sometimes I it will show up but when switch to a different input and come back to it, I'll get a black screen from ATEM.
I am still trying to learn how to use OBS for my church instead of VMIX or ATEM. I am just curious if I need to contact ATEM support of if it has something to do with an OBS setting that I have not figured out yet. Any suggestions? It is just ATEM, NDI and other graphics I add work with no issues.

The streaming PC will normally pick up all audio fine but for some reason it won't do that with the DSK element. I have been wanting to create a limited long exposure effect on colored lights in my video. The idea is to have some kind of chroma key thing that hooks up to a light color, and creates a long exposure effect such as you see in light painting photography.

I feel like this was something TV shows could do with some kind of analog effect back in the day, and I am hoping there might be some kind of modern digital equivalent. Thoughts?

There are tools that you can use instead of the dock to view the chat but also have presets for your many games

Chatty is a good app for this, very easy to set up preset categories, preset titles, preset tags, etc.

Hello guys! I have just started using the SE.Live plugin and after installing it on my OBS, my twitch streams are laggy and my CPU usage goes up to 80% - 100% at times. Should I uninstall the plugin or there is a fix for that?

Yes, there is a way to communicate.

libobs provides signal handers and procedure handlers.

Each instance of source, output, and encoder has a signal handler and a procedure handler. If one end of inter-plugin communication is source, you can use the handler associated to the instance.

To cleanly remove SE.Live:

1. Uninstall SE.Live
2. Uninstall OBS Studio (make sure that "User Settings" is not selected)
3. Install OBS Studio again from https://obsproject.com/
   Your settings will be saved unless you have selected to delete them during removal.

The browser sources should work without SE installed, but without doing a clean reinstall, uninstalling it breaks the OBS Browser plugin.

So just doing a clean reinstall of OBS Studio should fix it.

It will remove any plugin you have installed, but there's no way to bypass that other than reinstall them afterwards

hi! i stream on youtube and i have my chat in a browser source with some custom CSS. the annoying thing is everytime i start a new stream, i have to pop out the chat and then copy+paste the url into each browser source. is there any way i can automate this so that whenever i attach the youtube stream to obs, it'll fill in the chat url for the browser sources?
