I'm hoping to help a friend with a 9070xt set up captions for their stream. They're using the AMD hardware encoder. I had them install the localvocal plugin since that's what I run on my NV gpu. We tried hipBLAS and Vulkan but neither were using the GPU for inference. Additionally, according to the github the whisper implementations they have currently don't work on ROCm/AMD.

I was then looking at OBS-captions-plugin. But the readme and an issue says it doesn't work with the AMD hardware encoder. The issue is from 2019 so I don't know if it's still relevant. Does anyone with the newer AMD cards know if this is still a problem or have a captioning plugin they use?

OBS-captions-plugin ships it off to google for transcription, but the bug seems to be the captions don't get sent to twitch if the AMD encoder is active

Hey y'all! So here is a quick question. I'm using the freeze plugin by Exeldro and I have noticed that some times when I trigger the filter via StreamerBot it shows the previous freeze frame. It doesn't happen all the time but enough to bother me. Because I might strike a pose and it just shows an old one. Any thoughts?

Hey guys, does anyone know if OBS Teleport plug-in for streaming with 2 PCs over your internet/network is still supported and updated?

I found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcXKoQ_pITs), but it was from 2 years ago with no real updates

I'm trying to start streaming and have a really old gaming laptop (MSI GP Series GP62MVR Leopard Pro-218) to handle the load of the stream with the overlays and encoding while my main gaming desktop PC can focus on the game/playing so I don't lose performance/FPS with it having to do both

I also found this method/video of this YT'ber showing another way of streaming with 2 PCs, similar to OBS Teleport, but this one is a little more complex with him manually getting IP Addresses and Port Numbers to setup the encoding/stream being sent over the local network from the Gaming PC to the Streaming PC, not sure if it's the same thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqIPvhM_8Og

Not sure which NDI method is better or if they're even still supported/usable, I just want the best/most performance I can get on my gaming PC when playing while streaming at a decent rate/quality

@echo vigil Run obs-studio on the first PC, don't add any video sources, set resolution to 4x4 and frame rate to 1 in settings>video, then add audio sources, and use either the obs-ndi plugin or the teleport plugin to send them to the second PC.

Hello everyone,

I’m using the OBS Teleport plugin and encountering an issue where the logs show a “send high queue” warning.

After some investigation, I noticed that my Ethernet utilization is around 97%, which is causing lag and audio cracking on the receiving PC.

I also discovered that the Ethernet connection on my source PC is limited to 100 Mbps, while the receiving PC supports 1 Gbps.

My question is: if I upgrade the Ethernet cable on the source PC to support 1 Gbps, would that resolve the issue?

One important note — when I stream directly from the source PC alone, the stream runs smoothly without any lag, freezing, or audio issues.

Teleport runs over your network, if that is what you are asking. And you don't want to try using Teleport for sending video over your network at max 100 Mbps speeds.

All connection points between the source and destination pc need to be gigabit ethernet or higher.

Otherwise, just get a capture card that support the capture and pass through specs you need.

If your audio is muting when you launch OBS, and you're using a Bluetooth headset, it's caused by the underlying design of Bluetooth. To fix this, you can either switch to a wired headset, don't use the Bluetooth headset's mic, or set your sound to go through the HFP device for your headset.

Note: HFP offers lower sound quality.

I'm working on a custom OBS plugin that draws 3D objects using the gs API (like cubes made of triangles). I'm able to render the vertices and faces correctly, but I'm running into issues with face overlap—some faces that should be behind others are being drawn in front.

Is there any way to enable a Z-buffer (or depth sorting) in OBS so that geometry is drawn correctly in 3D space, based on depth?
I've tried using gs_enable_depth_test(true) and gs_depth_function(GS_LESS)...

There isn't anything built-in that has automatic triggers. Hotkey can be used to manually switch. You can create macros to automate it in other apps like Touch Portal and Stream Deck

this set up only kinda half-works, it successfully switches from the game scene ▶️ to desktop scene, but not the other way around. it just stays on the desktop scene when i alt-tab back into my game.

Hey guys is there any way to access older versions of nvidia video effects sdk? I downloaded and installed the 0.7.6 file for Turing since this pc has a 2000 series card, but don't see the background removal filter as an option. Worked just fine using the ampere file on my other pc with a 3000 series, so I'm a bit confused.

Just asking since I saw an obs forum post suggesting an older version might help, but open to all suggestions.

I also downloaded Nvidia broadcast to test if it worked there, and it did so I just added that as a cam in obs in the meantime.

but you could maybe get somewhere using the scene as transition plugin, together with the blur and move plugins

though even then, that transition combines a number of things that aren't easily combined in obs

Hello, I was looking for some help with a problem I am encountering using the new SE Live multistream plugin. I am trying to multistream to Twitch and TikTok. On my Twitch I play Spotify music. I wanted to also connect my Spotify to my vertical TiklTok scene as well. I tried to add an existing AUDIO CAPTURE BETA source, but my existing Spotify source from my Twitch does not show up- So I create a new source.   1. Restart OBS Studio first!
  2. Start your stream/recording replicating any issues (meaning having any games/apps open and captured, etc.)

Yo,I'm hav ing trouble installing a plugin (it's my first time doing so so sorry if I'm a bit dense). I copied and apsted all the files to what I think are the correct locations but the plugin still isn't working. I'm not sure if this is the right channel for this, but I'm hoping someone has some insight. I'm starting to dabble in IRL streaming as an extension of the streaming I've done at home -- mostly for special events, which ends up being about twice a month. I've found belabox, noalbs, and streambuddy and it's a great solution, assuming I start all of the services before I leave the house.

If I experience a power outage at home while I'm traveling, my PC will automatically reboot. However, if that occurs or OBS crashes, or something of the sort, does anyone have any recommended tools to ensure I can get noalbs and OBS back open, aside from a remote desktop application like parsec? Preferrably some type of script I can execute from my phone? I'm just not sure where to look for that.

Trying to stay away from remote desktop so I can just push a button on my phone if I'm out instead of having an error and then my whole setup is done until I can get to a laptop.

I have considered irltoolkit, but I don't feel like I do it frequently enough to justify having it. I also have a pretty beefy dedicated server at a data center that I could spin something up on, would just need to find the appropriate projects to implement

Set up multiple means of unattended remote control, so that you don't get locked out when one fails. Parsec is convenient, but if you don't use it for a month, it turns off until you sign in again (which requires email code). Conventional remote control software like Anydesk or Teamviewer can help. You can also use https://app.lizardbyte.dev/Sunshine/ sunshine, it doesn't do automatic hole punching like Parsec but it's a product, not a service, you set it up once and it'll never break.

no, it just continuously records but discards the output until you hit a hotkey and then it saves the most recent <X> minutes where X is configurable

Hey all.

I'm developing a small tool which I felt I needed for my own purposes. I have a 5k ultra-wide monitor and if I capture the whole screen, everything is miniscule for the viewer, if I reduce the video to 1080p. The app also avoids the need to always look at the OBS preview to see if contents are aligned properly. I use multiple desktops during screen capturing and the OBS preview doesn't "follow". This means, the preview is basicall useless on other desktops.

So, I came up with a small tool called Framer. It projects a frame to "wrap" the screen area OBS is capturing. The frame allows me to know exactly were to place any windows I'm demoing with, should I need to move them around or resize them.

Would this be the right place to share this little tool? I'm still working on its distribution. The app itself is in an MVP state. Once the distribution is ready, I'd like to share it. It's a free app. 🙂

Hope this is the right channel to ask this.

I'm trying to show a media source using Exeldro's Move plugin as a Show Transition for the source. I want it to fade in from the bottom of the screen with a cubic ease out, however it only seems to show the source after playing the media audio for half a second. No matter what settings I modify in the transition properties, the transition doesn't seem to work right. This only happens on Show Transition and doesn't happen on Hide Transition. Does anyone know what's going on here and how to fix this? OBS 31.1 btw

All of the options for the move source filter are no longer showing up. the redeems is still working and doing it's thing but I recently went to add something new and getting this same error message with no way to access the options I had previously used to set up the previous redeem.

To help resolve your issue, we need to view a log file from a fresh launch of OBS Studio containing an output session. Follow these instructions to upload a clean log file:

  1. Restart OBS Studio first!
  2. Start your stream/recording replicating any issues (meaning having any games/apps open and captured, etc.)
  3. Stop your stream/recording after 30 seconds or after the issue has occurred
  4. Click the Help menu → Log Files → Upload Current Log File
  5. Paste the URL into this Discord channel

Hey everyone I think I posted in the wrong group, this is probably the right one. I'm trying to figure out ndi and using 2 laptops. I know it's not ideal, it's what I have. It may be a write off, but I'd like to split my scenes between the two and have it go out to Twitch. I have a decent setup, it can PROBABLY work, but it may not work well. I want to know if it's me screwing it up or it's just the laptops aren't capable. Im not great at explaining what's up through text, but I could go on stream and we can chat there (empty rooms ATM lol) or voice chat here however that works. If anyone has some time that is. Not pressuring anyone.

Im assuming for someone who plays fortnite competitive using the VIXLW capture card might cause issues of mismatching refresh rate or input delay despite the display being duplicated and properly setup

- doesn't work at all
- serves lower frame rate than claimed
- only serves very low quality video (mjpeg, h264)
- works for a few days or a few minutes, then doesn't work at all
- overheats and starts to serve lower frame rate than claimed
Might want to skip this lottery and buy something good right away.

@dreamy comet Starting with Windows 10 release 20H1, you can use display duplication at different resolutions and refresh rates, without adding input latency. This is useful if you're capturing a 1080p PC display, it can receive its intended refresh rate while the capture card will receive 60 Hz.

besides the quality being a bit iffy when fighting in fortnite which is expected but the main main thing is the random spikes in fortnite but doesnt tend to happen when obs is closed on the streaming pc or completely disconnected

@dreamy comet When using Windows' display duplication, there shouldn't be any performance hit to the first PC. If you see stutters on the 2nd PC that aren't present on the 1st, that'd be the capture card's doing.

If by "input latency" you mean delay between what you're capturing and the time it appears in obs-studio's preview, this is not relevant here, your 1st PC has a display of its own. If delay is high, you can compensate for it by adding delay to other sources to line up.

@dreamy comet Over the internet, a ping of 0 ms is outright impossible, even LAN connections have a a few microseconds, which Windows rounds to "less than 1 ms". My guess would be that it's perceptual, your attention span spreads across multiple activities when streaming, altering your perception.

you can record to multiple audio tracks in one file and then extract from an editor if you want, or just work with them as-is in the editor which is the typical workflow for something like that.

@atomic fog Source Clone https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/source-clone.1632/ is what I'm using to record unducked to one of the audio tracks, although I didn't fully figure if and which filters are applied from the source to the clone. At least you need to keep the volume sliders aligned manually, maybe Advanced scene switcher has something by now to make a volume follow another.
Setup:
Audio source -> adv audio select a single track
Clone that source -> mix to your others with wanted filters (ducking in my case)

Well, I did find something, but looks like the dev hasn't been updating it lately and tested it on 31.0.3, its crashing OBS as soon as I press recording with the filter applied to audio sources.
