I just thought of a super cool use for AI in the future. AI monitoring your display and able to see your game visually, and have the AI prompted that any time the game brings up lore that is to be read by the person playing the game, the AI is to read it out loud in a voice that is fitting for the situation so the player doesn't have to read it.

Essentially adding voiceovers to games that have crap to read without voiceovers, like Skyrim 500 books etc.

It's good. I like trader Joe's. I won't buy premade cuz I like to control how much I put in, and I get more for my money when buying the syrup.

I put 2 tablespoons of cocoa or cacao powder in a bowl, about half a tablespoon of coconut oil (butter would work fine too), nuke it for about 12 seconds to melt the fat, then using the backside of a spoon I press the oil into the cocoa like a mortar and pestle, trying to make it nice and smooth. I then add about 2tbsp of some kind of sugar, usually demerara (for flavour), and 1tbsp of water and mix it up and nuke it for another 10s, then mix it up really good and most of the sugar dissolves. It is like cake frosting in consistency. Then I warm up some almond or cashew milk, and stir it gradually into the chocolate concoction I made. Once it is really liquid, I dump it into the mug and stir it the rest of the way. It is a bit of work to do, but it tastes so much better than any kind of store hot chocolate or liquid chocolate stuff that I'd rather do my homemade chocolate any day.

inb4 anyone says milk doesn't come from almonds or cashews, butter doesn't come from peanuts and we call it peanut butter too so get over it. LOL

Warning: It's addictive 🙂 If you add 2 tbsp of maple syrup to it and warm it up for another 12s in the microwave (to stop the coconut oil from hardeneing), and mix it up more, it makes an amazing fudgey gooey sauce to put over frozen fruit, where it clings to it for life too.

If I were go get back into game development, I'd most likely use the Unreal Engine. It is free to use with no upfront cost or royalty. Only after a game makes over $1 million in revenue do you pay a 5% royalty, and only the portion over $1M. For all the tech the engine provides, the tooling etc. Just about nobody could develop all of that tech themselves for the 5% the engine costs so it's a no brainer IMHO.

The current level of AI tech is not good enough to act as a first line support agent IMHO, and I think a large enough portion of people would go apeshit mad rage over being faced with an AI with a bright and perky fake attitude asking dumb repetitive questions and making them feel like a moron, and then handing out bad advice or telling them to eat rocks. But... give it 1-5 years and AI will probably be able to handle all of this 10x better than any human.

The biggest problem with AI for this right now, is that if the AI does not actually know the answer it will make up nonsense, but say it with conviction, and then when you tell it how fake nonsense it is, it apologizes and tells you it will do better going forward. Then you tell it that it can't do better as its programming wont have changed, and that its context is about 1024-8192 tokens, so it will forget it even said that in an hour. Then it apologizes telling you you are correct and it will try to do better.

Yep, but the problem is that there is no actual intelligence or thought. They are just generating tokens more or less based on statistical corelation of tokens, so they are looking for the most probable next token, so they will always find something and if nothing is relevant it will be nonsense. Not sure how they solve that problem.

They can solve the memory problem by icnreasing context window, and by adding other features like being able to tell the AI to remember specific things or having a user configurable long term memory dump box to throw things in.

That is kinda clunky though

GPT now has long term memory feature IIRC, but I don't think it is avail in the free version

Yeah, normally AI chats only have access to the last 1024-8192 tokens of a conversation, with a token roughly equating to a syllable or so. Anything before that they lose. But with the new memory feature apparently you can tell the AI "Remember this" or "remember what I just told you" or similar and it will store that in a longer term memory that it always has access to until you tell it to forget it.

But you have to tell it to remember things for that to work. It's an improvement though especially if you are thinking "i already told you this earlier" a lot.

With some AIs you can specify things in their System Prompt to force them to remember it, at least for AI that let you configure a system prompt such as LM Studio.

But the amount of space is very limited so one has to get good at shortening sentences to the least words and using abbreviations to jam a lot in there.
