That’s why pz console is only current gen
plus considering frontier like
made pz
the fact they could pull this off too
is just sad
contracts really ruin most things
P(EA)K
Oh yeah
Nobody actually linked it, but I imagine everyone has seen it already
also when babies get added, they will be the default unlock state for the Nursery in Challenge Mode
adults and age selection will be a Research unlock
more like frontier hasnt figured it out or decided to
Wdym
They literally have babies in PZ
It’s just that they don’t wanna add it
None of the mechanics PK has are sort of exclusive really
all of them so far are in some way or form already into one of frontier games, be it JWE or PZ or PC or whatever
I wish pz had a good growth system tho
they dont transform gradually between states no?
Iirc the babies just stay the same until adulthood don’t they
Yeah I think
Also PZ doesn’t have egg system for non live birth animals
Which makes like no sense
I think in ZT2 they actually made nests
And laid eggs
nein, the baby just morphs into an adult after a while
although modders figured out actual growth iirc
so they start baby smol and grow over time to then change to the adult model
It’s kinda cool how in JWE the animals actually look older after while
Only skin difference tho
shame it's such an ugly effect though
cool idea and all but the wrinkles and such getting weirdly shaded just looks ugly
Ye I kinda wish they just got a bit paler not wrinklier
That’s more of a human thing isn’t it
I wonder if PK will have that
For non sandbox
the way humans age isn't applicable to archosaurs
so the wrinkling and such wouldn't be much of a thing when going from adult to just
old
ZT2
is
the peak
of tycoon games
🐴
Just download it
It still runs on modern windows
Or buy it
I don’t know how much the discs sell for
yeah my pc does not handle discs
it actually has no disc insert
and i dont own any console other than the ps5
so im def not buying the disc
Oh
i mean
if i did have a suitable console
or a pc with a disc insert
i’d probably get the disc
but yeah
i have to rely on just simple downloads
PK so far is just looking at what other games have done and go "what can we do to improve it or not repeat the same mistakes"
but i do admit the self sustaining food farms is a good touch
PK modding?
when it happens it happens
If pk devs make official modding sdk or something
It would be amazing
modding is technically possible in a few fields but theres a ton of hoops to jump through
theres been a few (unreleased) skin mods for modern PK
This is the T.Rex episode, and I hope y’all enjoy.

$5.99
has some upcoming animals planned
(as a courtesy to the devs, do not share images of the art book online)
oo awesome
Might pick it up idk
ill say the concept arts look good and its worth the 5$

The PK artbook goes extremely hard
||laellyn|| and ||allo+saurophaganax|| confirmed
We have the jurassic trio
Allo, torvo sand saurophaganax
The Jurassic trio is Allo, Cerato and Torvo tho

^
we only need Cerato which we'll be getting possibly?
but roster changes probably got rid of it, don't know yet
last I heard is that it was considered that for a redesign, it'd be half-lipped
Still very unfinished tho
Needs legs
Tyrannosaurid ontogeny is tricky
Ceratopsid as well
Do we know when allo's coming
Seems the time to buy the game for me is getting closer and closer
real exciting stuff for the gameplay loop in the dev log
This year
there was an attempt but id not expect 100% proportionate hatchlings or juveniles since they still have to follow the adult's model keys
Shout out to Saurian
They have different engine systems handling it no doubt but props on them for actually being able to implement it (even if we'll never see it)
It can never been as 1:1 as something like in Saurian because they can use bespoke models created specifically for a baby Tyrannosaurus. We manipulate the adult models to change some key features (e.g. snouts) and then stretch limbs in real time to achieve seamless growth.
from Nano
Yeah and that 100% makes sense given they plan on doing that for every animal
JWD Moros
Based
It was on sales last month
the new devlog was cool
they fixed the thousand yard stare smilodon
I remember seeing the pk Parasaurolophus for the first time
and instantly falling in love
Oh yeah the hadrosaurs are all gorgeous
PK is PeaK
It has some of the best renditions of prehistoric animals ever
Plus it nails the zoo concept
ngl the only PK design that isn't PeaK is their tarbo
This design could probably afford to be less rex-like, especially since Prehistoric Planet has shown us that tarbosaurus CAN look very different compared to the rex
That's also because they pulled an extreme with how fat the rex is tbf
I hear they plan on Giving Tarbosaurus a younger rex body when the ontogeny comes out, so it can have proportions more in line of the animal. Otherwise yes it's just T. rex with a dewlap
Good, cause tarbo seems to be slimmer as a whole
A is tarbosaurus, B is tyrannosaurus
The skinny snout thing I think is stemmed mostly from that one image, but in actuality they have the ability to have much broader snouts
^
its a good desert-y (DUNE!!!!!!) rex design but it really isn't sold well as a Tarbo
I see
tbh the ideal to follow for letting tarbo and rex be in the same projects and feel distinct is PHP
my sweet baby boy
PeaK
I hope they add a couple more Hadrosaurs
Edmontosaurus is in the game right?
yes
OMG WHAT
its that, Parasaurolophus, and Lambeosaurus
wait I need to see Edmontosaurus rq
they have an alt for Ugrunaaluk
bro needs to edmontosaurus
I always need to Edmontosaurus
this is E. annectens
It's peak
This one is E. regalis, the combed variant
yeah i saw regalis
YEAH
LOOK AT HOW BULKY HE IS
GOD DAMN
Last but certainly not least, Edmontosaurus sp.
Affectionately and speculatively called E. kuukpikensis
This is the one from the Prince Creek Formation
In my latino country dinosaur museums are very rare
I can only dream of getting to come face to face with an edmontosaurus (a dead one anyway)
they're common here in the US, if you're ever here, I suggest the AMNH in New York City, many PK animals on display
This is MY favorite hadrosaur
The best damn para in media
in fact, parasaurolophus may not just be my favorite hadrosaur but my favorite dinosaur
the bulk of Hadrosaurus is just
something that makes me so
incredibly happy
I always imagined they could be surprisingly gentle animals when they wanted to
I would donate a kidney to be able to hold out a conifer branch and feed a hadrosaur
I remember feeding a giraffe once and pretending in my young mind it was a small sauropod
cats have sandpaper tongues
my cat licks my hands for like 5 minutes
Game looking immaculate
Regalis is my favorite
we agree
we agree
we agree
Oh really pal
yeah, skeletons count
Teaser from Mau (labeled the God Dinosaur
Finally, Kurupi
something about it tells me its an ornithopod idk why
Shape and skins match
It is an old roster animal
Every single old ornithopod that wasn't confirmed cut is already in
There is no reasonable argument to say it is an ornithopod instead of plateosaurus
I'm just skeptica- WAIT MAU'S IN THIS SERVER?!
Huh
he's right under Jen
Yeah he's been here forever
He's talked rarely in the past
jen just appearing when mentioned
Wording
Plateo
Oh my
WOOOO
it has come to my attention that I was, infact, very wrong
It has lovely skins :3
PK is PeaK
its a matter of time
oh wow
@gloomy trail we got this for your consumption
Welcome to Heaven
Welcome to Peakhistoric Kingdom
I am on the bridge side of the edge
I've seen mounted Acro specimens before, they're cool
What a beautiful game
this looks a render rather than actual gameplay
that's how good pk is
please post more screenshots
I'm mostly taking in the Boreal biome I've never actually used it until now
how many biomes are there?
I've seen grassland, temperate and tropical
and desert
boreal is probably my favourite biome though
it looks beautiful in those screenshots
I think this was in scrubland idr
are these the only biomes that pk will have or do they plan to add more?
I freaking love how pretty much any PK shot feels like a dedicated paleoart piece
fr
I'm so glad iguanodon is in pk
man the trees
jwe2 redwood brush could never
eerily similar to jwe1
oh what's going on here?
do you just let shit happen or manually place them?
Oh no that one I placed them
They have more biomes. Just not maps with those biomes
You should feature the American lion with smilodon fatalis
They were contemporaries, you know
yes they are
It'll take a while but when they add proper animal interaction I would kill to see stuff like this
This could totally be an IRL picture if they were still alive, honestly
Introduce a smilodon and an American lion to each other as little kittens and watch them grow up as siblings
PK desperately needs a bear, I know they're adding a Cave bear but damn I would love Arctodus
The differences in behavior and ecology between the cave bear and arctodus are more than enough to justify them both
Arctodus confuses me because every time I look up it's behavior it's something different
One is a cave-dwelling bear that roamed the tundra, sustaining itself primarily on a diet of mixed plants with some meat in between while the other was far more predatory, a lanky build letting it run FAST
ok so maybe it wasn't fast
wtf
Wikipedia is presenting a completely different concept of the animal than I remember
Yeah that's what I meant
tf
It implies it mostly browsed and its omnivory was scavenging
So the Wikipedia segment of paleobiology directly contradicts itself
Arctodus is said to be able to reach top speeds of 13.7km/h in the locomotion section
But the segment titled "Opportunistic carnivory" said it wasn't agile and that it might've hindered chasing nimbler prey
So what? Is it slow? Fast? Not fast enough? Is it a speed demon that isn't very maneuverable like carnotaurus?
@stoic raptor @gloomy trail
Looks HOT
I think it looks neat
Although I know you know my ass do not post builds
lol
yeah but ik you have a natural building skills
I think really the important thing to think of Arctodus is "This is a bear"
We have evidence for some southern populations being fairly herbivorous and the Alaskan population relying a lot more on meat, it's like brown bears which can have wildly different diets depending on the environment they're found in
I'm sure it's diet is directly comparable with like brown bears and such but the long limbs are pretty interesting
It being lanky got debunked
It's just a bear
Big and thick
It's limbs would've have been very long in flesh.
It had a shorter spine then other bears which made look like it had long legs, add the fat, fur and muscle and you just have a big bear bear
It had some long legs.
But it wasn't extreme like what is commonly shown
what
Something like this
https://www.ddinstagram.com/p/C07F8hePFlS/?igsh=ZmZjNzhyeWg3MXFl
Just add the fat and fur
Which people tend to forget
It also didn't have a short face
@gloomy trail yo pop in real quick and send a large png of the arctodus
illusion caused by the deep snouts and short nasal bones
Its face is actually just normal ish bear
Basically
Arctodu is going through the opposite of what spino went through
Going from weird to normal ish
Anyway, brown bears have really long snouts, but Arctodus is not pug nosed because, well, bear fleshy noses are large
Yep
We STILL have a living short faced bear after all
And Arctodus appears to be a bit longer snouted
So, yeah, guy would be a massive spectacled bear pretty much
Erior did you see the video of a spectacled bear following an ant eater ?
I don't think so?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huracan_(mammal) For the record, hypercarnivorous American panda bears
Huracan is an extinct genus of agriotheriin ailuropodine from the Neogene period. Fossils were found from North America and Eastern Asia. Unlike its modern relative the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), which is a bamboo specialist, Huracan was a hypercarnivorous genus of bear that had adaptations for cursoriality.
3 bears for PK.
1 big
1 medium
1 small
Cave bead would technically be medium when compared to the much larger arctodus.
770kg vs 1,300kg
Small bear could just be the actual Smallest bear to ever exist.
Aurorarctos.
10-20kg
Make Arctodus both large and medium anyways by having the black bear sized one be an alt species
Arctodus with two species and Arctotherium would be amazing in this game
There's also multiple species/subspecies of cave bears
@haughty rock @torpid sinew @gloomy trail
Look at the little guy in the back
Bro is classical 💀
I just realized we don't have a single subspecies for dinosaurs
That's because we don't really have the sample size to tell
huh
Not enough specimens
^^
You can't tell if the differences between two specimens that could distinguish a Paleosubspecies in ice age mammals really means anything when all you have are those two specimens for the whole species
All the extinct animals whose subspecies we know are Pleistocene or newer
Exactly
What's your favorite PK specie?
Borealopelta is remarkably complete but we don't know anything else beyond its physiology tbh
Something interesting.
Gamssulzen Cave bear dominated Ursus spelaeus in Central and Eastern Europe, while being out-competed by this species in Western Europe
We can assert it might've relied primarily on camo because of its reddish coloration and we have its diet pretty well preserved
I think if I had to pick one dinosaur to study for subspecies it'd be edmonto
We have a wealth of edmontosaurus remains from Hell Creek including Dakota, a very well-preserved mummy
Would have thought rex might be a good choice
To see the differences between species that live in hell creek and outside of it
Plateo
I honestly feel like dinosaur subspecies is something no one wants to get into because of the absolute fucking pandora's box it'd be
But also because not every dinosaur is well-preserved enough to get the subspecies treatment, which'd lead to inconsistencies
We can have a Tyrannosaurus rex rex but others still get binomial names
I remember when american and cave lions were argued to be subspecies of modern lions
And not a different species
they're not lions then, technically
But we call them lions just like how snow leopards aren't really leopards but we call them that anyway
Not out
oh
Fine then
parasaurolophus
Pachyrhono
@torpid sinew
All the lions
Oh where has that Asian species been found?
Peak
PK pls gimme Alberto or some similar tyrannosaur, Galli, Kentro, Pachy and Preno soon
Yakutia, alaska and Yukon
Yeah, they are subspecies of modern animals
Because that's how subspecies work
Oh, neat
Cave bear subspecies moment
Mammoths have subspecies but aren't modern animals
It also depends
On how do you define a subspecies
Because that itself is a nightmare in taxonomy
Very true
I remember some studies had tigers be called panthera leo tigris
Mammoths are modern animals
What about dire wolves ?
What do you consider a modern animal?
Because cave bears went extinct like, 30,000 years ago
And mammoths went extinct in historical times
For all intents and purposes we are functionally in the pleistocene anyway
10K years is an event
And, woolly mammoth subspecies aren't really agreed upon anyway
between the animal changing through time, and the rampant hybridization that happens whenever elephants overlap in range...
My new fun habit
creative way of showing their scale, nice
Not my screenshot
dire wolves are a genus level taxon in canines
yea it stopped being a Canus thing
now its just
thing
don tknow the specifics I'm sure theres someone with the paper
its genetically isolated for nearly 2mil years
nvm, even older
possibly split around 5-6mya
I still love this depiction
Yes but there are two subspecies of dire wolf
Aenocyon dirus guildayi and Aenocyon dirus dirus
Agree, love how distinct and robust they look
if you ask me how PK would even put them in the game, just Aenocyon dirus is enough
We weren't talking about PK putting subspecies in
also isnt atrox sister to spelea?
ok read abit of what went up there, dire wolves made it to the holocene so yea free real estate if you wanna count them as "modern taxa"
Dire wolves, like black backed and side stripped jackals, are outside of Canis, because dholes and painted wolves, generally treated as not part of Canis, are more closely related to grey wolves
Dire wolves are the earliest diverging, on top of that
I love it
Beauties
cant wait for paleopedia
That should be the case in the beta testing branch with leaellynasaura
Look at them!!!
Beautiful little critters
The long tail and extensive feathering really sets them apart from dryosaurus
Honestly really glad they're trying to improve performance all around cuz man
even placing down paths causes some sudden freezes
nathan mentioned he really wants to do a path rework down the line but other priorities atm

Oh my GYATT
Die
Need to see if I will decorate more the interior
Woah
needs a fireplace otherwise grug inhale stinky charcoal
xD
That's desaturated? It feels so bright and colorful already
that might be your screen making colors more vibrant than they are
Yeah I think so
thanks mau
Does pk work with geforce?
its supported by geforce now afaik
ah so I have to pay extra
day 6 of waiting for plateosaurus
Paleopedia out in PTB for some animals
they defo arent 100% accurate but they do tie in their artistic choices to their "in-game canon genetic engineering"
eg Charono's crest was "we didnt have a crest preserved until our scientists revived one back in the lab, showing it had a long crest"
still a more fun read than "Carnotaurus hunter Deinocheirus"
They mentioned genetic engineering to justify why their styracosaurus were solitary despite a massive bonebed being found
i think there was one nigel marven talk about styraco that justified that
i think it was like the bedbones had styracos from different years showing that they were less social than we believed or something
but i can´t remember that much
PK using genetics in a more fun an interetsing way than freaking JW
But oh well
thats our timeline
maybe
but idk what other examples of genetic engineering justification is used beyond Styrac
Is mostly used as a "these animals are a product of their time"
Wich is what they should have done with JW
Is more so to explain the designs becoming outdated as time goes
hmmm
They’re nice
some perspectives need adjustments
also male E. regalis would be a better use for the paleopedia image since the female is really similar to E. annectens
Pachyrhino fuzz, Charono crest, lambeo and para enjoying fruit, etc
Solitary Styracosaurus is this one hill they insist on dying on; just use something like Pentaceratops for your solitary ceratopsid, rather than being petulant about contradicting direct evidence
they've recently climbed up onto another hill since their website appears to show ugrunaaluk as its own genus now
Why would they change that? It's been in the game since Edmontosaurus was added there's no point in removing it
Yeah, they want to use it as the alt genus for Edmontosaurus, as they like the word
It may be more similar to regalis than even annectens fwiw
Still, taxonomy is not real, while gregariousness on Styracosaurus is
it's not that serious
old memes that found their way into the current game, we don't really have strong feelings either way
Ah, it is due to tradition then? As long as you guys aren't opposed to those being tweaked once modding is a thing (like the Tyrannosaurus lips), then no issue whatsoever
OMG OMG OMG OMG 🤩
I don't mind the separation of Ugrunaaluk since I'd just imagine game logic and naming schemes doesn't ALWAYS correlate 1:1 to irl paleo naming stuff in terms of lumps or splits
Ugru is a cool name regardless too like
omg hi Tarbo
tbh I feel like PK needs to pick a lane and stay in it, so to speak. You can't have Nigel Marven's commentary throw shade at Jurassic Park every chance you get and then turn around and deliberately do stuff like leave rex lipless or ignore the styracosaurus bonebed and make it solitary
though that's just my silly lil opinion
All paleoart IS inaccurate tho
wdym
Because they're theorized renditions of animals we only have a limited understanding of
What would throwing shade be called
uhh... roasting?
Ngl, I feel like there's some species we probably have a good idea on what they looked like already
paleoart tends to use every bit of knowledge and info known and applies it to a reconstruction thats honest to nature and the avaliable research we have, whether its very fringe in its spec stuff or absurdly strict, we can't get a PERFECT look on extinct animals but we can try our best to do that :3
PK mostly tends to do exactly this with some decisions that can be founded in spec thrown in for a couple animals and just overall wilder creative stuff done for a very small few
^
Borealopelta is remarkably preserved
the exact colour isnt known, just what hues it can have
they didnt throw shade at JP tho?
the closest Nigel line to even reference a JP inaccuracy is only velociraptor
nothing else
Doesn't the rex have a line about the vision thing too
yea
and dilo now that i remembered
but theyre "buffs" to cultural depictions anyways
the game calls back to JP/JW in silly references or indirect mentions more than it throws shade
idek when it throws shade at all lol
there's an adorable Halloween decoration of a Dilophosaurus dressing up as Nedry
ye
well maybe "throws shade" isn't the necessarily best way to describe it but it sometimes feels a bit tongue-in-cheek
Bringing up how frills and venom only takes away from dilos' majesty or how Nigel never really bothered to consider how spino vs rex would play out
o
Nigel talks about how dilo is better without a frill, how the guests always arrive expecting big box-headed scaly velociraptors, how JP is wrong about rex's sight and that it really had great vision
But then you turn around and see a tyrannosaurus without lips despite common consensus or completely ignoring the styracosaurus bonebed
That's what I mean
I feel like you're getting a bit frustrated over little things
Tbf their rex is half lipped
i dont really see this as a problem either
this isnt a direct jab at JP still when the entire public perception is still "dilo small and venomous" or gigantic naked raptor
times have changed, and even gen Zs are going "why the fuck are dilos frilled" when its said otherwise in wikipedia
rex lacks the wider lips on the bottom jaw
so it just slips over
Okay nerd
I shall send you to Madagascar
but anyways, ive checked across a few non-dino discord servers and most ppl prefer half-lips
although this can be abit biased since public perception and ofc the full lip edit isnt as good cause obv its an edit
I did that twice already
Going third time
fine, but I'm taking you with me
Nuh uh
yuh huh, get ready bitch
I’m not frustrated
(Mau said the staff animation is placeholder and itll be using a wheelbarrow in the future)
not too far off from the individual variation
woah they added staff?
"Oh? You're approaching me?"
"Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?"
"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting any closer."
"Then come as close as you like!"
Yeah, it was a fairly large animal; the concept art has it at over 2 and a half meters tall to the head; it feels small next to its more recent relatives mostly because those got colossal
does that include alternate genera like sinotherium and juxia
WAIT 6 AS IN SIX MORE?
the glyptodont nation has a chance
Yes
Megaloceros, bear, aquatic mammal + 3
THE GIGANTOPITHECUS
@gloomy trail JWE2 tripped and fell so that PK could fly like an Argentavis
Megatherium time
Lepti
but those 6 are like, actual species yes
instead of species + species variants
Idk
I would presume they're all distinct but the only ones we know anything about is that the cave bear and Megaloceras are both going to encompass only one species
we also know mammal wise there's a semi-aquatic boi
DOEDICURUS…
Ambulocetus? nah
Give us a PROPER semi aquatic one
Rodhocetus for example is a lot more semi aquatic
one Eohippus please
SA mammals make me happy
Microraptor named Throatripper
Finally
Malta Expansion PK edition
Mau the Rex
Woah
Scalesona
HELLO LOVELY LADY
coming update 12 along with apato it seems
update 11 seems awesome too
Honest Nigel reaction
When Nigel
Is neat to see the park managment stuff is being worked on
this was so unreasonably funny
PeaK
white outline ruins it tbh
its not gonna look very good in Dark Theme without the white lines as a border contrast
Honestly like what they shown so far
Looks pretty straigth fowards and the new buildings are neat
I was reading the dev log and I was like
I had forgotten PK isn't just a pretty paleoart game LMAO
like there's actual gameplay coming up
might actually but the damn thing now that there's gameplay
Yeah I quite like that we can manage resources
Is the kind of managment that makes sense for a zoo sim but havent seen done much before
Can help with the dead time ya have beetwen building and waiting for tasks to be done
Bit of a shame there is no map witha beach that ya can build on
otherwise I could do the JPB staff buildings
Looking at this is also a neat way to make finances a bit "harder"
lol yeah
Also damn leaellynasaura has the long ahh lemur tail
I saw it in the dev log gifs... and that's honestly fine
the modular staff gates also gonna be absurdly useful
Leaelly's long tail remains were not able to be confidently assigned to the species amicagraphica, but that doesn't mean they didn't have A long tail
Oh hey I can do the zt2 staff center
iirc while it's undescribed the long tail belongs to a possible relative
Oh yeah
Which... if it's a relative, that means we can use it as reference and give leaelly a long tail :p
I guess is something that may or may not aged badly but well
yeah gotta fill the blanks
it sort of canceled out which is funny to think about
ngl leaelly is cool and all but we all know they only added it so they don't have to make another hatchery category
elasmarians are ornithopods
Well also, another australian dinosaur
since it seems they rounding up the roster by location
a LOT of small runner type herbivores like orodromeus, thescelosaurus, or hypsilophodon aren't ornithopods, nor marginocephalians, nor thyreophorans... so they'd need to create a whole ass new category
Wich is nice, allows some more flexibility with park building
Leaellynasaura is a decently popular name from an underrepresented continent whose phylo placement lets them group it with ornithopods; it's also the only elasmarian that comes even close to being popular
Aside from leaellynasaura I don't recognize any of these except for morrosaurus (thanks PHP 2) and mahuidacursor (thanks Lucca mods)
holy moly
Yep
Was the fella the giga hunted
Although if I recall is like, another Mapusaurus case
wasnt really described by then but, well
the remains were known
Anyway, leaellynasaura is cool
is it?
because from what im seeing its like a more safeguarded way of PZ's keeper system
you have to hire separate staff to load food on
back in my day you could just buy food and place it down and keepers just refilled it
yea labourers are basically the generalist staff since they also send merch to shops iirc
keepers are animals only
so far this is more of an automated system of food refill akin to Factorio instead of just set n forget at least in my eyes
if something isnt going according to clockwork, then you probably need more staff or another produce station
also very encircled logistics loop after the initial hoops
Finally
this image is adorable I love it so much
first depiction of a domesticated dinosaur
So peak, makes me hopeful fr
The PK UI/Art style gives me a sense of hopefulness

COMPY
Also none of the six upcming mammals are rhinos
omg it looks so silly
SCRUNGLY
Honestly the peak compsognathus would be having a mini enclosure AND being able to be set loose
NO WAY
NO FUCKING WAY
this has been a WONDERFUL DAY
they forgot to include something, as well as the mammal mini and compy, theres 3 other mini exhibit species as well
awuh
only at the 1 skin bit, the lack of fighting or ontogeny is valid
hopefully they retain inter/intra-animal interactions though which I assume that will happen with only fighting being exempt
also the PK Trello roadmap is updated
You can have minis without a cage around them, so the baby megalosaurs would be able to look like they are loose
Couldn't you be able to just make your own mini exhibits in PK?
I mean, you can remove the shell and customize it however you want AS IS, and a revamp is due
I mean from scratch without loose species
the idea if im correct is to just be gone with the cage, and make them free-roam
but they wont get ontogeny and fights
Honestly dont mind em being looped
it had some issues in the alpha since theyll be stuck on a preening loop
also like devs going away from prefab buildings to modular shells kinda made the cage moot
o huh
I suppose you could be able to craft proper miniexhibits if needed (hopefully)
since animals can go on rocks and stuff, I assume things like Microraptor could be able to fly and perch on stuff without much issue
so you could limit it to something as big as the cages
but idrk thats just my ideal wants
Dimetrodon deconfirmed for EA yet confirmed to be making it into the game
Plateo alt skin from Mau
based..
it looks like
the one jwe2 acro skin
with the magenta-esque top and the yellow-'white' countershade transition
works really nicely visually
Idk why but I always find it neat when paleomedia references retrosaurs
Ya overthinking it
Is just a building ya plug in and one day on each month ya make your shopping list, from what I understand
Iirc you have to pay to restock food
Yeah and?
Makes sense one has to
Is just an extra layer to actually playing the "challenge" mode
sandbox is still there
no you dont really have to, Loading Bay food is just for starting off
the major food production is from your food production stations, and you use dino poop as compost for them
Big bird
Slightly large creatures
Colossaraptor
Macroraptor moment
Megaraptor at home

where you got that image?

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/30171105/ad3d23456b2e8789dda075e135d6ee1b51984308.png Welcome, Park Testers! This latest patch for the PTB introduces staff, random excavation events, and two species of Plateosaurus! We've written some basic guides below to help players find their way around the new mechanics while we renovate the help menu, notifications and...
Hmm staff also been implemented
The only sad thing about gracilis is
is nice to see each update brings optimization updates aswell
It may render other "prosauropods" as redundant
P gracilis is roughly within the size ballpark of say, mussaurus
aint the latter quad?
anchisaurus gang rise up
mussaurus ain't quad
Well, it is and isn't
Baby mussaurus move on all fours while adults don't
Don't let canon purists stain the good name of mussaurus, it's a really cool animal
Ahhhh I see
hes so TINY
Show the skins in daylight
oh my god that skin looks so NICE
All three plateosaurus skins are PeaK
ngl I was wondering if they'd add gracilis but didn't look too much into it
But damn I'm happy they did
Oh god thats so nice
Honestly after all this skins with huge size difference
cant they add the missing smilodon species?
I remember they said it was too small but like, idk currently it looks like it should work
They aren't tho
Literal Pokemon
Also, c'mon, Anchisaurus, Massospondylus, Mussaurus, Eoraptor...
The, the smoll
Yeah it would be nice to have
Although would be neat to see in a different type of game where it's basically a normal big cat and then you just have the other two species being just absolute hulking bear cats
I mean, Panthera is in, throw in some leopard-like animal as an alt and lol
random PK shit
@warm fog
the staff shall not be safe if they misuse staff powers
Framerating is dropping maxively when using the terrain tools.
Not sure if it's my computer or something else
Watch the latest Prehistoric Kingdom trailer to see what to expect with Update 11, which brings staff management and logistics to Challenge Mode, three new staff types, new facilities, and new animals to the zoo management simulation game. Prehistoric Kingdom is available now in Early Access, and Update 11 launches on June 27, 2024.
Prehistoric...
@edgy fable jwe2 could never
Goddam they really know how to cook when it comes to trailers
Ye
PK is getting even PeaKer
So is JWE cooked
Yup
PK is consistently outdoing it in every facet
Jwe3 has some killer competition
It has a roster half the size of JWE's and yet it feels "bigger"
Like I feel like PK parks can have more different types of animals in them than JWE parks
That’s because half of pk roster isn’t clones
Only clones are the different individual species
Damn Pk managment aspect starting to catch up lol
Frontier's stubborn insistence to bring in a bunch of glupshitto clones because then they can reuse animation rigs is so funny
Like paras
They dug themselves into a pit
We have like 4 Chinese stegosaurs that no one really likes much but they can't add miragaia anymore cause then the amount of stegos in the lineup would honestly be absurd
went hard
still goes hard
one could say its PeaK!
Bruh
They just salty we have actual staff here
People who have not played JWE2:
FRONTIER IS QUAKING IN THEIR BOOTS
more like Planet Zoo if anything
JWE2 has a different general take on micromanagement
its more just "refuel vehicle" or "make scientist happy" etc
No Jen don't you see, it's a dinosaur zoo builder, they're exactly the same
Genres don't exist
Yeah is more like PZ but atm I prefer PK approach to staff If Im honest
If the game's so good why the framerate is so shit
Weak pc then
This PC runs Elden Ring tho
i hope frontier took notes from pk when working on jwe3
Honestly if JWE 3's development cycle is what I think it is they're probably at the perfect opportunity to take notes rn
They aren't, because the JP IP sells it anyway, specially with consoles

I don’t think that’s what Plebb meant
We busting
The boi
@warm fog
With this new update rolling out I genuinely can't wait to see what Junes dev diary brings
inb4 they say staff/Nigel texting you also looks like JWE2
PK is peak because you can slide into Nigel Marven's DMs
but anyways, devs cooked with the staff animations
played the ptb and at times you get invisible wheelbarrows or abandoned wheelbarrows
elden ring is baby shit
The clown is loose
representation of everybody (including me) after seeing spinosaurus as a surprise dinosaur in update 9 trailer
me, a non-spinosaurus enjoyer, actually excited to see a spinosaurus
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/30171105/ad3d23456b2e8789dda075e135d6ee1b51984308.png Welcome, Park Testers! This release aims to address some of the issues reported by users on our Discord server and adds the last staff type for Update 11, Cashiers! These workers will manage the register at kiosks around the park, changing shift when additional cashiers are...
P(ea)K
plateosaurus

Those damn words. "We have nothing to share"
As a (potentially former) JWE fan I remember every time Frontier hit us with that
means they arent planning anything yet so far
Would you prefer them to give plans about stuff 4 years down the road that wouldn't end up being met, tho?
nah Plebb's just referring to how frontier used to say "we have nothing to share about X" for literally anything, avoiding any kind of transparency
Nah it's just the specific words they used
Flashbacks fr
HOLY SHIT
I pray to the lord it is only natural colors
Never let kids cook
Oh, and got deleted from the server... oh well, give it a few days
Jwe2 doesn’t have shit now
For now
OH IM GONNA BU-
lol that’s para color from dinosaur king
The day PK adds flying & marine animals I will confidently say it’s better then Evo2
Wtf
Oh thats gonna be cool as fuck
Allowing to give custom colors to the dinos? Huh
Wonder how that one works here
Hues are already sorta variable, let's see how that ends up going
I know the guy Mau's replying to, real nice guy, genuine passion for paleonology
🗿
Can dinosaurs even fight in pk? 😭
They can't
staring contest
the fact that they can't fight sparks my curiosity on wth the video shows even
oh boy cringe narration
