Hey so I got a question here how do I prevent that when I develop something and I do some decent chunk of progress and afterwards I get burnout that leads me to have break longer than 1 month which quite literally is something I don't. what's the difference between a normal function and it
I heard something about being able to end the function early or wherever you want
or something
but I have no idea what is he talking about
If you put a return statement in a function, you will get something after that function is done running
So if you for example make a function that calculates a cframe, the return statement will allow you to access that cframe in other sections of code
local calculatedCframe = GetCFrame() --> "CalculatedCframe will be whatever the function puts in the return statement"
(actual scripters can correct me if i'm wrong, this is just how i use it the most)
So a normal function gives you results while it's running but a return statement comes after that?
Lemme try to come up with an analogy here
So
A function tells you to fry rice and shrimp
But a return statement tells you to make a drink after you're done frying the rice and shrimp

It's more that a normal function makes fried rice with shrimp and either eats it or throws it away right after, and a return function makes fried rice with shrimp and then gives it back to you
So you can do more with it (i.e. serve it to a customer or add a drink to the menu)
They basically return their work to you after they're done running, but you do have to tell it what to return
so if you only tell it to return the shrimp, you won't get the fried rice

Hi all, have something that's been bugging me, is there any "fool proof" method you all use to make concrete edge damage? I tried via various displacements, sculpting and even geometry nodes but none really gave me the desired effect, so anything yall recommend? addons, anything tbf

Really, I've only been experimenting on which method to use...Geometry Nodes give a "cartoony" look to the model rather than something realistic regardless which one I try, sculpting also feels and looks extremely weird regardless how many times I subdivide, and displacement? Really I dunno, im all for spending time on a model but even with that I feel it's a process of going back and forth every second

both methods of making elevators smooth are unideal
- the flood escape method is moving the entire world and keeping the elevator stationary
- my method is essentially the following, but it stops networking player positions to other players (i.e. anim plays but character does not move)

one thing I really like about what you're doing is adding all those visible technical bits, it flushes out what the object is supposed to be and cements it in a more realistic fashion. Idk if this is planned or not but it would be cool af if those big server racks could lower from the ceiling at an angle & be accessed. I would also make the ladder way more built up, make it an airlock with a proper ladderway
