Easiest way is to add sharpen to a 1k texture and have good uv unwrapping and not use smart unwrap
if lighting gets used improperly it can affect game performance a lot

Yeah, the less lights the best. Each light has to do shadowmap calculations and everything. It's even worse on future lighting.

more color contrast, theres too many bright colors across the whole room, maybe add some gray accents to the walls or floor?

maybe try removing a few of the units on the shelves, kinda like how you'd make a bookshelf,
and also good tip in general for facility games: add as much tiny detail as possible, this means sticky notes on machines, posters and warning signs, visible wires, potted plants, ETC
i recommend making a layout for some common decorative objects, kinda like this
high attention to detail will always be what makes or break a game, this goes with both decoration and gameplay

look into CAD software (what the engineers use) and you'll agree with me
blender is easy but it has a steep learning curve
two basic things you need to do:
- learn what tools it offers to make your life easier
- all the shortcuts you need to know so you don't have to dig through menus to find what you need
it's not that hard once you can piece together what tools you need to make a mesh
I was shit and thought I'd never get good at it
I made one model I really liked
and then all of my models look good
it's just a matter of practise
