This is an interesting one for sure. Setting is cool and the gear system is smart but managing to balance it with different rarities being so much stronger than others will be tough.
Some ideas:
- Create a gear score system to flush out matchmaking (if you want to lean into a more balanced approach)
- Make a map system where different maps offer better loot based on difficulty level (You can even lock out maps to lower levels or lower gear quality)
- IF you aim to have the risk and reward of bringing in strong gear to stomp on others you need to create a measurable risk. I think where many extraction games fail where something like Tarkov succeeds is the fact that a low level player with skill and smarts can outmatch someone geared to the teeth. Dark and darker doesnt manage it well and many others dont.
- Small suggestion but this will come with time and baking but combat and visuals are bland. Combat is not bad but it needs some artificial punch to feel better. Whether it is sound or screenshake or hit freezes and staggers on enemies.
