So far this happens only with 60fps videos. GPU usage stays roughly the same, but power consumption rises as if I was playing some demanding game. This only happens on my 27" QHD monitor, and not on my second 17" FHD monitor. Ive tried turning off Gsync, it did nothing. Before I try to reinstall drivers and switch cables, I wanted to ask if anybody had this experience.

does it have any significant side effect ? like images/videos loading slower on the sites

it shouldnt, but its also a "known source of issues" from time to time

disabling HW acceleration in Chrome seem to fix the issue
