I totally agree with @visual ingot , It's nice having one program for everything. Thats my one big regret with my yeti mic, not being able to use synapse. but I currently have 7 items synced up on synapse, my laptop keyboard uses Icue, and i have a blue app for my yeti. It just makes life so much easier being able to have one thing for everything.

hi i was trying to figure out whether to get the razer 2020 with 8 cores of razer 2019 with 6 cores

im not great with computers so i dont know the discernable difference

i looked it up but i cant seem to find a clear answer

the 2020 also has super max q vs max q 2070 which i cant figure out the difference either.

The super max q slightly higher performance. May not be noticable. But I'd still say go with the 2020. Who knows maybe they worked out bugs from the 19 model plus you'll be getting a newer processor

Hello, does anybody here have experience with Razer laptops? I'm trying to figure out which configuration I should go for.

I am currently looking for a well-built & portable laptop for University. Tasks will include web browsing, media consumption, and a few Windows Store games. The Stealth seems to have exactly what I want.

I came across a refurbished stealth from early 2019 with an MX150 & i7-8565U for about $1150. I'm a little apprehensive about buying refurbished, but the reviews are quite good for this particular unit.

For $150 more, I can buy the late 2019 model with Iris Plus Graphics from Razer.com. I have heard that buying directly from razer isn't the best option, and $150 more seems steep since the specs are actually a downgrade from the refurbished model.

For $250 more than the Amazon refurbished unit, I can buy a brand new late 2019 stealth from BestBuy with a GTX 1650. This seems like a good deal, but I don't think I need that graphical capability

As far as future-proofing, and getting a laptop that will last me many years, which device is the best option?

Personally I would go with the bestbuy 2019 stealth with the 1650, just in case you ever want to play a couple games or do something slightly more graphically intense down the line (especially if you want it to last you many years).

@gaunt ledge The 1650 is still a pretty lower end gpu, and it doesn't consume a whole lot more power than the other laptops. For the $250 you are also sure to get a warranty. The MX150 does sound like a good deal as well, however depending on where it is being sold, there is a chance you will not have much of a warranty in case something goes wrong. Intel's stock graphics could probably handle those games you mention as well, however if there are new games in a couple of years time which are more graphically demanding, you may struggle.

However, if you wanted to down the line, you can also buy an egpu for gaming if you don't think you need much power right now.

The MX150 has Amazon's 90 day guarantee. One more question @mighty timber : Will the newer 1650 have lower battery life? The primary use for this device will be a portable device for web browsing and documents.

It may have a slightly lower life but i don't think its overly noticeable, battery will take more of a hit as you game though. Just doing normal work and on the internet and such won't make much of a difference.

when I scroll sometimes the input won't register until I wobble the mouse a bit or poke the wheel again. I can hear the "click" loud and clear, but it won't actually scroll.

The Blackwidow X is old. The newest blackwidows are the Blackwidow Elite, the Blackwidow (cheapest), and the blackwidow lite.

Out of the choices you had I would pick Ornata Chroma, however it is a mecha-membrane keyboard, and not a mechanical keyboard like the blackwidow x.

@old gate Change the joystick ball? It just screws off, use the included screwdriver on the bottom of the joystick to hold it in place while you take off the ball, then the original plastic shaft and dust covers.

Then put the new ones on and you're good to go!

Don't screw it down too tight or it won't move after, if that happens just loosen it until it moves and you're good to go. It'll also sort of pop up and lock into place when it's too tight, so you'll know when you went too far.

@sick thicket actually cleaning that same Mercury edition rn. It's an amazing mouse pad. Just gets dirty. And have you considered maybe getting a monitor stand? Where you can mount both monitors , then if you moved your desk a little too the right it Skype give you more room with the stand

@alpine carbon the Nommo Chromas plug into the wall for power, so I don't think that's the reason they're dim. I think they just either cheaped out on the RGB lights or they couldn't / didn't design it in a way that allowed it to be brighter.

Hmmm they're definitely designed differently though. The Base station ones are on the very ends and fire outwards, and Nommo Chromas are resessed and seem to fire downwards.

The huntsman elite has Multi media keys, the wrist rest is RGB and there is a RGB strip on the back of the keyboard. Huntsman is a downgraded Huntsman Elite. Both Huntsman models (Besides the TE) Have ABS keycaps so you might want to get a replacement set If they start to shine

@proud hatch hate to be the bearer of bad news but since I'm assuming you're wanting to use the aux port for the Chroma, you can't do that. The standard aux ports aren't able to send the data required for Chroma. If you don't mind connecting a USB and the aux at the same time, and can tolerate using wireless headphones in wired mode, you may be able to go for the Nari though.

I'm looking to switch from my kraken 7.1 v2 over to a wireless headset. When looking for one i came across the Thresher 7.1 for PS4 and the Nari.

Which one would be the better option to use on pc?

While comparing them i noticed a few differences.
The Nari has support for synapse but the Thresher doesn't, however this isn't a big deal since i already use my kraken without synapse.
The second difference i noticed is that the Thresher has a much wider frequency responses compared to the Nari.
Audio: 12Hz - 28,000Hz VS 20Hz - 20,000Hz on the nari
Microphone: 100Hz - 10,000Hz VS 100Hz - 6,500Hz
This means that the Thresher's audio & mic quality is better. And this aligns perfectly with the audio & mic quality i'm used to on my kraken 7.1 v2 since the specs are the same.

When looking at these numbers it looks like the best choice for me is the Thresher 7.1 for PS4 unless i missed something critical. What's your opinion? Should i got for the Thresher or is the Nari better for PC due to something i've missed?

Who can advise me which buttons you set for 1-12 side key, so I can have 48 keys instead of 12 with ctrl, alt and shift modificators? Reason I use shift and not alt, is alt has some funky default keybinds in this game, like if I try to move left while holding alt for my spells, I'll switch to Alliance chat instead of moving, hence swapping to Shift

It was made for the Xbox, and it just works on PC as a bonus basically. The only way to do anything with it is to use the special software.

If you want a controller that has extra buttons you can map to other things it would probably be best to find one not compatitble with a console as the manufacture will have to not include extras since you know it has to work with a console

So PC specific controllers would be the only ones

Yeah that's the issue with almost all of these PC or Console compatible controllers. If it uses Xinput you can expect it to not have extra unique buttons as Xinput only allows the normal amount of face buttons. It would have to emulate keyboard/mouse to be able to use extra buttons.

One of the flaws with the steam controller is just that, can't map extra actions to the other buttons if you use Xinput mode, you have to use KB/M mode UNLESS the game supports continuous mouse/keyboard/gamepad input which is really rare now a days so you end up with stuttering movement with the game trying to change from XINPUT to Keyboard input

Unfortunate issue that is only solved with a update to Xinput or games starting to support continous dual inputs. They should really as a lot of controllers for disabilites relies on dual inputs

I own a Hotas. but the game I use my controller to fly in (Planetside 2) doesn't have great joystick support, (most of the community gives me flak for using a controller instead of mouse and keyboard to fly at all, but I've been flying with analogue controls for years, I can't go to keybaord for throttle and yaw, it just feel awful to roll and ptich with the mouse also.

But because I use a controller to fly, my inputs are limited

I'm left with 8 buttons, which for planetside is not a lot even when flying, as four of the buttons are needed just for comms, before I even get started on my discord push to talk

which is why I was excited by the Razer Wolverine Ultimate, 6 extra buttons is great

I've been using the Death Adder left handed edition since 2011. My first one lasted almost 3 years of heavy use, and my last one has been rocking since 2014. The left click and middle mouse buttons have finally started sticking to an unusable degree. I've been watching the product page for at least 6 months now on both Razer and other retail sites and at this point I'm guessing "Out of Stock" probably means "No longer made." Is that true? Should I finally stop holding out for another lefty Death Adder and buy ... shudder... a lefty mouse from another manufacturer?
