Anyone know any solutions on fixing fps dropping. My laptop (which is very low end one) can run valorant fot around 130 fps with minimum settings, but the fps keeps dropping mid game to pretty much 10-15 for a few seconds, and then going back up again.

Bios is the software that comes with the motherboard

#

It kinda is the backbone of the system, as even Windows has to have a bios in order to run

To disable it just look up "disable APU on (your mobo)"

ill tell you from experince integrated graphics are poop! unless your trying to play web based games that support flash then by all means use an integrated gpu. but if you want to play with smoother frames then spend the money on a 1660 or something with a little more power. the integrated graphics wont allow you to take advantage of that 144hz monitor bud.

if it means anything you can always find a decent prebuilt for around 800-900 that you can slowly upgrade down the line. yes we frown upon prebuilts but it allows you to tinker with something, without worrying about needing to get something like a win 10 key, or other things

@acoustic trout honestly you'd be better with the ryzen 5 3600 over the 1600. its a newer processer and overall just a better processor. one of my good buddies i game with quite often uses a ryzen 5 3600. and gets good fps on modern warfare, forze horizion 4 and other games. so personally i can reccomend that proc

@acoustic trout tjhere really isnt a need to turn them off. so on my laptop for example i have the intel integrated graphics and the nvidia rtx 2060. i let the app choose which one it uses. ofcoiurse for games i use the nvidia but for web browsing and doing tasks like word processing the integrated do just fine

i honeslty think for a bit more the h510 by nzxt will give you more room to work with , then going with a atx motherboard instead of a micro atx motherboard. just gives you more wiggle room. but thats all up to you.

plus i'd rather a lower rated power supply like bronze, to get something like a fully modular power supply which will allow you to manage cables way better as you only plug in the cables you absolutley need. so less chance of a rats nest building up in the back of the case. but thats my two sense. also if you wait a little longer the rtx 30xx series cards will get cheaper on the used market which will allow you to get a more powerful graphics card for about the same money

also i must reccomend watching some youtube videos, so you can learn about all the parts of a pc and what to get and what you may want to avoid. youtubers like linus tech tips are quite helpful

You are overpaying for that monitor, it’s a 144hz VA that is usually 145. I would recommend the ViewSonic XG2405 or an AOC 24g2 if you can find it

The airflow of that case is also pretty mediocre, but it’s on sale so ig it’s fine

Your cpu/gpu is also balanced terribly, a 3100 and a 2060 will perform much better in games

Also the 3800x isn’t a very economical product, get the 3700x instead, yes it’s slightly downclocked but it’s much cheaper
