It's probably not a scripting error, but for the sake of preserving everything you're already done here I'm just going to thread this. Don't get your hopes up about me being able to fix it, but can you upload the json somewhere and link it?
absolutely! ty. would it be inappropriate to just upload it here? or send it to you via DM?
Here is probably fine
thank you very much for taking a look
please, whatever you need from me to troubleshoot this, let me know!!
the code i wrote yesterday to spawn the cards 1 by 1 was removed, and reverted back to what i had originally, because the changes didn't work anyway (just FYI)
So my player 2 should not be able to load images in your testing?
well, they SHOULD be able. but it is not happening.
for example, after setup and cards are dealt, and the host player plays a card face up, the non-host players only see the card back image
there are times when i test where this issue doesn't happen, but most of the time it does
Is this what you see?
I will say it was incredibly difficult for me to get a screenshot of that since it resolved itself every time so far in like 500ms
no, the images are actually loaded, just only showing the back image as the front image:

theres a video
lol. oh
Ah okay let me see if I can replicate that
🤔
Let me try again, my player 2 can see the cards just fine
They're getting a scripting error however
yeah. it DOES work sometimes! yeah, i think there's a bug that i created troubleshooting this
if i exit the mod and reload, this often brings the "bug"/issue back
Hm I'm not sure, we cannot replicate it
Darn.
Any other thoughts by chance?
Could it be a router or firewall issue? (Although I just use windows firewall)
It could be one of those very difficult to track down networking issues I suppose, it could be a graphics card driver issue, or your computer just decided to have issues with a single file that got cached wrong
I have had other people tell me they had the same issue.
This file for sure is having the issues for me. The one I sent you was a version I was trying to fix, so maybe it's working for you? I don't know
Have them clear their cache, at least of all relevant assets
Will definitely recommend that, but the last person that reported it, it was their first time running it.
Speaking of, how do I clear the cache?
well, clearing the cache did not solve the issue. i unchecked "mod caching" on both pcs, and started a game.
i waited until both pcs had finished downloading assets, and then went through the setup process for my mod. cards were dealt to each player, and non-host player still cannot see front images of my cards
what do you guys think of this:
