#FYI if I restart my laptop sometimes

This sounds like something is leaking into memory, and your laptop might be doing page swaps between your ram and disk
Thanks.
The utilization on my laptop seems OK...
Here're screenshots of Task Manager + the speedtest (download and upload) with TTS running in the background.
Funnily enough, even uploading these screenshots to Discord was slowed down by TTS...
Here's TM after TTS is shut down:
if you close everything you can other than TTS (including your billions of chrome tabs jfc) does that affect it?
Obviously, fewer resources used, but not that much.
OK, here's what it looks like with only the speedtest Chrome tab running.
is tts set to a higher cpu priority than chrome? TTS might be set very high (higher than your other programs) and its network checks would then be getting prioritised over other programs
that would explain the slow speed with tts open or closed, despite low network activity
Good thought. If that was the case, wouldn't TTS have a fast ping, because it had a higher priority?
