If u are talking about this being an actual physical colliding gear I don't think this is possible to add with how the collision system works currently

Type in the console when u press ~ draw debugcolliders 1 and u will see what I mean
If u place some wheels and try to make a cog
technically the physics engine has a gear joint, it's been mentioned a couple of times

so technically the devs could add gears with that
but idk how well it works, I don't have a lot of faith in physX as an engine

Yeah I assume we would get a gear joint over just getting pure physics gears. If we get kinematic joints first tho we could theoretically build physics gears ourselves but a gear joint would be far more reliable
Also I want that ball joint ugh
