the highlight of a brick when using a tool (including the selector) z-fights with the surfaces of the bricks, which was not an issue before EA2. This really hurts my eyes and can cause seizures for epileptics (which makes the game impossible to reasonably play for those people).

the z-fighting is worse on faces when the angle the player is facing is not perpendicular to the face of the brick highlighted.

I see what you mean, but this feels different from z-fighting. It doesn't flicker a piece at a time like z-fighting does; it goes all at once

I think it's an issue with the dithered transparency effect

ah yeah that sounds more likely, I never even noticed the dithering effect

here it is in the dark, on a ball, so you can see multiple angles / surface normals at once

that's weird, maybe a specific combination of graphics settings/gpu?

it wasn't an issue before EA2, and I doubt we both have identical graphics settings.
I can however provide my graphics settings to help with debugging if that would help?

GPU: Nvidia 3060ti
the most significant settings I imagine are: HWRT enabled, lighting ultra, reflections ultra

happens for me on dx11 and dx12, with Anti-Aliasing Mode set to anything other than None or FXAA
-# technically also mostly stops if I set fps a multiple of 120, probably due to monitor refresh rate or something

Also just realized, on dx11 I get am additional kind of flashing on top of the other one, this one happens more randomly, just like a quarter of the frames or so have the weird pattern, the exact visual pattern doesn't change as it flickers
Also when I mess around with the framerate sometimes it stops happening for a few seconds and starts again, sometimes slowly getting more frequent, like sharply increasing the fps/resolution stops it for a sec,
Also with AA off then it flickers more on higher render scales, but with AA on e.g. TAA it flickers more at lower render scales, or at least the flicker reaches further so it's visually higher contrast

also just to explicitly mention it, the angle of the hilight is slightly off, and is more off the more messed up it gets by these bugs, idk if that's intentional or not tho and it's a comparatively small issue

gosh I should bug test the graphics settings more, I hardly touch this menu
