#(Visuals) I think the stud inlet underside of brick texture is too dark

I think the underside of bricks should look less dark, so it's closer to the brick's color.
I also think the square 'tubes' should be less high contrast, it draws a lot of attention to itself.

Attached are comparison images with (old)roblox and blockland, Though these comparisons aren't perfect due to lighting engine differences, I think they still show what I mean.

I realize the current texture might be realistic to irl lego, but frankly I don't think it looks good as a ceiling in a lego house either,
Lego doesn't have to deal with this, because people don't normally look at the ceiling of a lego house, because people generally look down on them from above, and are too small to fit inside of a lego model.
(also, the more shallow lego plates don't have this effect as significantly as the full lego bricks do)

what I do to hide this is either:

  • use a microbrick resized to the same size and shape of the ceiling
  • use a few 1 micro thick microbricks to cover the ceiling (leaves gaps)
  • or finally use a microbrick converted into a physics object, this method is particularly useful if the shape of your room isn't a square

it can certainly be hidden, but if everybody is always hiding a texture, I think the texture should be changed
(idk exactly how often people hide it tho, I feel like I've seen more stud ceilings than inlet ceilings in finished builds)

i've seen people try to make use of the underside texture as detailing for things that aren't ceilings so it does make me wonder if we'd be losing out on something by altering the underside texture

though granted that sort of usage seems to be fairly niche so idk

I don't know if its just me, but the stud inlet and studs don't seem like they would actually connect, the sizes and shapes just don't really seem compatible. The studs appear to have bezeled sloped edges while the stud inlets have an immediate end with no smoothing

Here are some images of irl Lego brick undersides, for completeness.

If they are lit from the side then they look somewhat high contrast, like brickadia's bricks, but otherwise it seems like they're lower contrast like the other examples.
