This has been brought up before, and from what I know it's not going to be considered

The fake seam idea I think might already be an optimization happening? I've read something around here that made it sound like they do that already to reduce the mesh, the brick count isn't affected by that at all though. If they're not already doing that, would be a good optimization

They do optimize meshes by combining bricks. Zeb has said with how textures are currently done they cannot merge seams at all. Idk if that will ever be something that they will attempt to change tho

I believe they want to make it a shader eventually but maybe performance or something was holding it back?
