it just doesn't really make sense for 100x100 cubes to have the same render distance as little microbricks

do you mean like this issue? Or are you talking about meshing faces at further distances
no this is to give props and such shorter render distances than things like terrain
i mean rendering things at further distabnces
so on a big map itd render terrain first before popping buildings/props in
it would be interesting but I'm not sure how feasible it is
if you go by brick size alone you'd end up with a lot of gaps in areas where small and big bricks are mixed together
usually this is something you'd do for entire buildings and props with lods but in br lods apply to individual bricks, not groups of them and i don't think there'd be any reliable way of figuring out what to pop in first
well yeah but then you might get gaps in weird places where bigger bricks are carved to make holes or whatever
