When I was sub assembling Lion El' Jonson for my 2000 point Dark Angels army, I took a break and played a bit of Dark Souls 3 on NG+. I was looking at the Faraam armor for a good minute or two as it's my favorite air in the game, and I had an idea in my head to use the Faraam armor color palette. I already have a few colors in mind for what I'll be using, but I may need some assistance.

Also the image you see here is the official design of Lion El' Jonson from Games Workshop.
I am currently using the concept art of the Dark Souls 2 Faraam armor as a basis so I can figure out what colors I'll need, and how to combine them.
These are all the colors I currently plan on using, and it is subject to change as I figure things out.
In addition, I am also planning on painting the Lions sword and shield as the Moonlight Greatsword and Golden Wing Crest Shield respectively. For the latter, choosing between the Dark Souls 2 and 3 versions was easy. I'll be going with Dark Souls 3.
As for the Moonlight Greatsword, that's going to be a bit more tricky. As I'm sure you know, the moonlight greatsword has been in most, if not every From Software game, and it has a different appearance each time, so to find the right version to paint the lion's sword will be a little tricky.
I've narrowed down which Moonlight Greatsword to use to these three.
I cannot wait to see this, oh my god
Please ping me when you start painting

Update: I know what paints I'll need to make this palette swap work, and I've chosen to go with the Bloodborne variant of the Moonlight Greatsword.
I may be splitting hairs, but I am now choosing between these two versions of the sword. I may go with a combination of the two if I think I can do it.
First Update: Painted all the parts I need to in Iron Hands Steel and Leadbealcher. Next is going to be the shading with Nuln Oil on all except the sword, which will be in Coelia Greenshade.
You could even paint the sword like you would a plasma gun with a white underneath and a blue contrast over the top
But either way your model is gonna look awesome
Good idea.
I actually did something like that with one of my older models.
The glow on the plasma pistol has wraithbone underneath, while the sword has Leadbealcher. And both are using Frostheart contrast paint on top.
@sick lagoon In your opinion, which one looks better?
It's fine.
Also my friend who makes frost swords for space wolves use a Vallejo sky blue, he paints a bit of off white and mixed it
That could be a good base to put over it
Then add darker blues
I found a color scheme for the Moonlight Greatsword I can do on Reddit and I will attempt to replicate it.
After I practice it on some spare parts I have.
I managed to shake off the procrastination and did some painting this morning before I had to leave for work.
The Gold Wing Crest Shield is almost done. Just got to do the purity seals, the back, and I'm done with this part.
Looks amazing
I am almost done. Unless I consider painting more of the base, the only thing left is the Moonlight Greatsword.
And I'm going to practice on some spare parts I have before painting the Lion's sword.
It is now complete.
