question about the kick drum

most kick drums are from lungs which is why they cut into humming or vocal sounds like throat bass. alem does it from lungs in those training videos, i actually have never seen him do it from just air pressure in his mouth. den is one of the few beatboxers I know that regularly uses the air pressure kick. codfish also used it a lot in the second drop of his most recent routine swimming like a toad

U can do it both ways

for stuff like inertias beats you need to do the kick drum without air so it doesnt cut off the inward bass

doing it with air is almost like adding a bit of outward subbass to it

which gives it huge amount of power
