Ghosts are entities that can possess blocks and/or passive mobs. If a ghost possess a block, you will take damage as you mine the block, if you fully break it, you will die. If you are wearing extremely protective gear, you can break the block without dying, and kill the ghost when the block is broken. A ghost won't stay inside the block forever though, in 5 minutes after possessing the block, the ghost will get bored and leave the block. You will know if a ghost possess a mob (passive ones to be exact), because the mob will have realistic bloodshot eyes and a smile with sharp visible teeth. Like possessed blocks, possessed mobs will attack the player. Ghosts will stay inside the mob for 30 minutes. If you kill the possessed mob, then the ghost will die with it (like with blocks). Chained ghosts can only stay in one spot at a time. It will attack the player by shooting slime balls at it, but it will do melee attacks if the player is 2.5 ft. near it. It can only be moved by possessing a mob. When this ghost possesses a mob, the mob will look the same, but will be a little slower, but be a little stronger at the same time. When killing a possessed mob with a chained ghost inside, it will drop an item called "Chain & Ball," this item can be used on mobs. If this item is placed on a mob, then the mob won't be able to go anywhere. To unchain the mob, you either have to kill it or use a key to unlock it. It can also be used as a weapon!
