I couldn't find this anywhere so I am suggesting a few things here.
"Gift Bags" after visits.
You know how when you go to the dentist and you get a gift bag of toothpaste, tootbrush, floss, and stuff? It would be a cute detail and a silly way for LRs to put them together for other people to hand out.
"Pong, or other non-disruptive activities."
I have seen people mention clients wait too long but I haven't seen these ideas suggested specifically. I was thinking a couple pong machines, a game of hangman where you have dental-themed words on the wall and have to solve the word, or a game that functions like the alligator game where you press the teeth down and pressing the wrong one makes the jaw close.
"A cafe? No. Refreshments? Maybe!"
I saw someone mention a cafe and that's a good idea but I feel with how things run slow now, it would be impossible to moderate/serve especially when cafes have large selections and usually have things bad for your teeth. Even if it was self-serve, people would spam take items and throw them on the floor. I reccommend one of those office coolers, maybe one of those small ice buckets, and water. They could equip the cup, get ice (optional), then grab some water. We could also have freebies out like sugar free mint gum or trail mix in two small baskets next to the cooler.
If someone picks up more than two a notif could pop up saying, "You already have [item in inventory]. Leave some for others!" The items could empty after uses and if they attempt to throw the trash down they could get an arrow directing them to the nearest trashcan to empty their inventory. I think this would be cute!
"A more 'exciting' waiting room."
Apart from the games I suggested I feel like the waiting room has always been a bit bland. No offense, it's just basic (and yes, realistic) but I think having different forms of seating, more decorations (like rugs, pictures, plants, and non-traditional lights [such as fairy lights]) it would be quite nice. I feel clients are frustrated due to lack of stimulation, plus when you finally get back there it feels like you're in and out. I think this would make customers less stressed and make it easier on staff too.
If you even wanted to add magezines where they can flip through things like different colored retainers, braces, or cute little magezine about teeth care or little fun facts about dentistry that would be awesome. I don't think the waiting room needs to be over the top, I really don't. My idea is essentially to try to soothe their nerves even a tiny bit because when the clients are stressed I know we all are too.
TL;DR: I guess none of these are necessary -- Just cute little things I thought about. Not all of these may seem like good ideas and that's okay if you disagree! I love to hear what people think about my ideas.
