Hi folks, I am full developer with around 2 YOE. Been a contractor for the 2 years at the same company. They want to convert me to a full time employee. I’ve already been through the interview process and the conversion is pretty done with a small bump in the salary. I want to take this offer because the contract may not be renewed beyond this year.
But I don’t particularly enjoy working here, nothing to do with the team or the manager, they’re awesome people, I just feel i’m stagnating and missing out on some cool experiences elsewhere. It’s just my personal preference to take the next step and look for new experiences for bigger pay and move to the Bay Area / NY. And I’m still grinding leetcode and applying.
My question is, If I were to take this job and keep applying and let’s say I get a job around Q2 next near would it look bad on my resume because I left right after getting the full time role ? Or is it possible to include my experience as a contractor with a same company along with my time as a FTE, which would put me at 2.5 years with this company overall.
Any advice is much appreciated
