at my current company i have a medical WFH exemption that allows me to work remotely. if i were to change companies, should i ask about the possibility of full remote with the medical WFH exemption during the interview? or should i wait until after getting the offer to ask about it?

This is a good question. I want to say that you should wait if your medical exemption is such that your employer might be breaking the law by denying it

Ask a lawyer if your medical issue is protected under law as a disability, under which case, reasonable accommodations are mandatory under law (you also would need to fill out some kind of form when applying, I believe, which indicates this to your employer)

i see, i was told that legally it doesn't matter where in the process you mention it because they're not supposed to discriminate in employment or in hiring

It's true. But I would still wait because let's say they're on the fence about offering you, then you let them know they'd have to accommodate WFH and they don't want to. Now they can pick the other candidate and it will be very difficult for you to prove it was because of your medical accommodation

If they give you the offer and your medical issue can be labelled a disability for which WFH is a reasonable accommodation they have to provide it and cannot rescind your offer or not provide it
