#Manager hasn't acknowledged notice

I handed in my notice on Friday morning. I sent it directly to my manager, marked the email as high importance and CC'd the UDL for the project. However as of now (midnight on Monday) neither of them have even acknowledged that I've handed it in.

My manager is just casually handing me tasks like normal and ignored any follow up emails about me leaving. She's actually been a great manager and has never been like this before so I have no clue what's going on or how to handle it.

I also emailed someone from HR today just asking if they were aware I had handed it in, as with other colleagues they got an email from HR within hours after handing it in. They also need to conduct exit interviews within 3 days of someone handing their notice in. HR have also not responded.

Don't get me wrong, I know I'm leaving on the date I specified. But I'm working on a high security project and we have procedures for leaving that need to be started by both management and HR, and as far as I'm aware HR have literally no clue that I've even handed in my notice.

Set up a 1:1 with your manager and talk to them about it

#

Really I think that's how you should usually give notice, and then do the official process after, as they tell you to

My manager works on the other side of the country so my only options are to email or message, both of which she's not responding to

Other side of the country is not that far away in timezones, especially in Europe. You don't ever have video calls with each other?

#

But regardless, if that isn't working, be explicit in asking them to confirm that they've seen your message. And if you really have tried everything and haven't gotten any confirmation, document all the ways you've done this and move forward assuming that's the date you're leaving

They've finally acknowledged it today after one of the engineering managers was talking to my boss and asked about what they're going to do once I've left (I more or less single handedly handle automation for our businessess side of this project) and she apparently had no idea I had handed it in and deleted the email without reading it. /Shrug

Also as to why I don't have contact with my own boss, she's aware I'm a bit overqualified for the role and leaves me to manage myself most of the time. I sort my own work and rarely have to get her help with anything

Combined with the fact that management on this project don't seem to be that great anyway, I'm not too surprised
