I don't have much work experience, just a lot of time coding stuff in my free time and in college.
Any feedback or recommendations on things to change would be greatly appreciated.

No advice but I like your Overwatch project

Innovated an automated alignment tool
ok.. is this a coding project? if so, what did u use to create such a tool? any metrics?

#

i would make ur projects in descending order of date

#

in what manner do u have experience with “AWS” ?

#

can remove IDEs from skills

#

where and how do u have experience with C, C++, and R? i dont see anythting on the resume

#

same with Docker and GCP

#

Nginx, Apache…

@turbid mural i have way too many micro-projects that would take up like 4 pages if i were to include how i used every one of my technical skills. i do need to better explain the "automated alignment tool" because i used cv2 and some feature matching / perspective transformation but yeah

#

but in an interview scenario i could easily explain how and in what manner i used each of my technical skills'

#

the other things u said i'll fix up too

Here’s one metric: report what the “smooth data flow” was. Request and response times

#

What made it smooth?

brave rivet
#

its also used for the chat system and pushes to mongodb after notifying people in the channels so its quicker than waiting for a db change

#

its really just complicated and i dont think i could easily put it into a flashy singular sentence for a resume

#

this is the current

#

i did change it

My point is: if your goal is to get metrics for your resume points, you may have to put in the work to get them

brave rivet
#

im just curious why metrics are so important to a resume

#

its seems contrived

paper cargo
#

Because saying “I serviced some customers every day” is different than “I serviced 5 customers every day” and even more different than “I serviced 10 million customers every day”

#

The last statement lets the reader know you’ve built something that can manage a heavy load of traffic, which is substantial

brave rivet
#

that makes sense

#

i can gather some metrics for my rebound app project

#

I would look for opportunities for metrics in all your projects

brave rivet
#

my other projects might not have metrics except snake in java

#

i did do some nice stuff regarding how i handled framerates

#

the dermatology tooll i made in undergrad research might have some metrics i can dig out

#

its just frustrating having to spam apply to roles which i am pretty confident im qualified for

#

where is your college on your resume

brave rivet
#

i cropped it out

ah ok

#

you said 'updated' but then i didnt see it anyway i was worried

#

do you have the impactful classes you have taken on your resume?

#

operating systems, any electives, etc

brave rivet
#

im in deep learning and ive taken natural language processing

#

i know tensorflow and dabbled in pytorch

#

i took udemy courses on it in high school

#

i also know docker for both of those use cases

urban tendon
#

sounds like great classes to add to a resume

#

maybe not the udemy because i can say i learned how to do anything through udemy

brave rivet
#

true

#

@urban tendon does the resume really have that much of an impact?

urban tendon
#

also summer 2025 internships are ramping up aorund now

brave rivet
#

true

#

i have no formal experience at any actual companies which is really hurting me i think

#

I got an offer for my internship in march of that summer
