I'm currently an intern at a big tech company (microsoft-tier). I'm currently going to a non-name university and I have 1.5 more years to go before I graduate.
Instead of going back to university, I want to continue working at this company full time while finishing my degree. I know I can do that because plenty of other interns there have done it too. In order to make it manageable, I will transfer to WGU which is an online uni (and some people look down upon it because it's online).
I think this is a good plan because it will essentially give me an extra 1.5 years of experience by the time I graduate (and at a big name company too), which I think is much more valuable than college brand. In addition to that, I plan on doing an online masters at GT or UT Austin so my undergrad degree won't matter anyways. Furthermore, I would also be making six figures during those 1.5 years instead of just making almost no money during college so I can start building up my savings earlier.
In a sense, I'm asking this: what is more valuable - +1.5 YOE or a better undergrad college?
