quick glance i would remove summary and accomplishments, and redo the skills section

RESUME ADVICE (SWE/SDE) This doc is to address common issues that are seen in resumes all in one document. We highly recommend you read through this and make changes accordingly before posting your resume in the resume-review channel! These tips are ones gathered from recruiters and SDE’s at all ...
after looking at many other resumes on here, i was wondering about the summary... most people dont have one. cool, will work on that. reviewing the document now and will modify the skills section.
any thoughts on the experience? i was an intern -> contractor -> then graduated and went to full time. felt redundant putting similar responsibilities under each of those "different" titles.
yeah, at the same company
got any metrics to add? those are good
i'm struggling to quantify the responsibilities into clear metrics - always ends up being something like "completed testing and automation of x stories/defects/backports in a tight deadline with a complex product" or "worked with the team to ensure a smooth merge on a tight timeline". it takes many specific subtasks to complete these things, but listing them takes up so much space 🙂
youre limited by using the 2 columns, u should try a 1 column resume template
ahh i see. it was suggested to me by a mentor to try a 2 column resume. i'll play around with different templates and see. if i remove the summary, that should give me more room to work with.
yeah ive also been told it messes with the resume parsers companies have
but you would suggest laying out those specific subtasks with clear metrics instead of the more "vague" overview of my responsibilities in the position?
its fine if you dont have metrics but just be clear and precise in your bullet points
"Bullets should be in the format of -> What you made, How you made it, and the impact/metrics"
got it, totally makes sense. i'll work on some updates. thanks for the insights/feedback!
your accomplishments should be merged in your bullet points
ahhh so remove it as a separate section and highllight those things in the work experience section?
