#Expecting an offer but I want to delay making a decision while waiting for another offer

you gotta simply let them know you are busy and will not have time for the follow-up call with the recruiter until a little while
companies generally only provide an offer verbally in the first place: you want to delay that moment as much as possible
and also come into that specific talk with a number in mind (gotta know the market, see https://levels.fyi/)
once you do get offer from Company A, refuse to give your thoughts just yet
say you gotta talk about it with your family, take the week-end to ponder, etc.
for Company B, your goal is to accelerate their pipeline: you must let them know you are expecting an offer soon (or already have one) from another company, and that you would appreciate if they could extend an offer more rapidly to ensure you have time to look at all your options
Thank you for the advice!
So I did the final interview with Company A. They asked about my salary expectations. I didn't receive an offer but it seems very likely that I will receive an offer. Unfortunately they won't get back to me until December since members in the company will be travelling.
@dense narwhal can I still use this to accelerate Company B's decision? Should I let them know that I am anticipating an offer soon?
December is vague. At this point Company B might extend the offer before Company A does, lol
Maybe reverse the strategy, in that case.
Tell CA that you're about to get an offer from CB and would like to have both offers at the same time.
No need to mention company names. Remain vague
