My friend, you are a rising sophomore. You still have a shitton of time (well, 1 year but that's still a lot on internship time). Hell, the application season hasn't quite fully kicked off yet.

As for dealing with your current situation, I feel like the main objective is just surviving. Sure, they won't offer you a return internship, but do you really want to go back into this environment? Try to pick up some metrics for the resume for the next cycle, if you can. Hope you manage to find someplace better next round.

Good question. If you find some chill people then I say go for it. Basically anyone on your direct team I think is your best bet. Don't close yourself off to meeting people though.
